@stabbbber Correct. The theory, for lack of a better word, is that ancient peoples mistook the setting morning star, ie. Venus, as a Falling Angel, hence the start of the Fallen Angel "Lucifer" story. And that's that.

Well, there is a second meaning and that is "bringer of light" or "light bearer". The Statue of Liberty has been said to be a symbol of Lucifer. With her Torch being the guiding Light of Justice into this experiment called the United States.

Ok, Time is a masterpiece...the songwriting is just really frickin good, much better than the recent KD stuff. I wish more metal bands would make dark traditional metal stuff like this - it's def lacking in modern metal

Agreed, brother! Time is the most overlooked Mercyful Fate album, but in my opinion it's by far the best written and has the darkest atmosphere.

Mercyful Fate is one of the most perfect balanced bands in the history of metal. I'm lucky I got to see them open for Motorhead & Exciter on the The Oath tour. Time is an excellent record. Then again all Mercyful Fate records are great in their own right.
