I think mules are beautiful creatures although I've never had a chance to work with one. The mule and burro association came to the city I live in and had one of their big shows here and I went and watched some of it. I really enjoyed watching the mules show in all the disciplines horses do! I've also seen some of the Bishop Mule Days on RFD TV. Very neat stuff, and a lovely animal!

You can really see the mixture of a horse and a donkey... Nice long horse legs with a larger version of a donkey's body, mane and tail. The face... M mixture of both! I love this <3

Hey...mules are EXCELLENT jumpers and they are much more sure footed than horses...I have never seen a mule stumble. And no, there are no genetic defects, they have been making mules for centuries.

NOT a donkey, a mule. A mule is the offspring of a jack (male donkey) and a mare of any breed. My mule, Katiebelle, was the daughter of a standard jack and an Appaloosa mare. Mules are actually more like horses than they are like donkeys and are completely rideable, trainable, and showable.

@BlushRushBeauty mules are actually better jumpers then horses.. I saw a mule clear a 5' fence at a stand still, they are actually more valuable when it comes to selling too.. where a show jumping horse can fetch like 10,000.00 in todays market, a mule with the same training can triple that easy..

@EventerSarah Well, it depends on what kind of show, and what the judges say. I think that if you have a mule capable of this, it should be fine, but that's me. In one of the video clips in this video, you see her in a show, but it depends which one. :-) Hope I helped, and good luck!!

@mrXAVIERisAWESOME don't rush them, Mules typically will slow down and launch themselves off their back legs, a lot of them don't jump the same way a horse will. But as this video shows they are extremely versatile animals :-).
