Thats what they have tuner pedals and noise suppressor pedals for. Don't believe me, go type in any search field for 'em

The BOSS pedal is probably just a tuner, I have one like that.

The one she uses for doing all the looping to make her own backing is an Akai Headrush, which she has nicknamed "Wee Bastard". In fact, if you search for "KT Tunstall Wee Bastard" you should a video of her demo-ing how it works.

Her actual performance DID include the full song, including the 2nd verse, but about a minute of the song was edited out by the network, so it jumps from halfway into the 1st verse to the second half of the 2nd verse. The audio of the full performance (not including Jools' introduction) was released on the UK version of Eye To The Telescope. I guess the TV producers thought 5 minutes of a new artist was too long for some viewers. Dumb suits!

I remember being at a pals place back in the UK when she made this debut on Later W Jools... We couldn't stop talking about this amazing performance! And of course, we only got one look at it.
