I'm taking Tahitian dancing classes now and I can tell you...for anyone who thinks it's easy and just an easy shake..I challenge you to try it because it requires quite a bit if stamina and core power. I had much respect for this after trying it out for myself!

You have some on the tube that are either beginners, still learning or have no clue as to what tahitian dance is all about. She's graceful, beautiful and a very talented performer. i was in tahiti back in '88. dancers would dance competitions on friday nights. kids would come in and compete in dance troops. there would be 20 or more men and women. men would play drums and women would shake like this girl. people who knew the dancers would come cheer them on.

Again, I forgot to mention, your legs are too far apart and you need to bend your knees more. I see more wrong in this video than the other one. There is more to concentrate on than just the 8 movement and even that isn't looking right but people can be inpressed. I think you did much better in your other video.

Good dancer, but I noticed that you tend to lift one heel when you do your faarapu, which is alot easier than flat-footed faarapu. Very graceful though.
