i got some chaos (pelomyxa) carolinensis and i noticed some organism in the culture that seems to have an anchoring stalk, and it can just suck up food by extending it's body or it whips out two circular chainsaw sort of beating cilia weapons that it uses to suck food in... what could it be? it's about the size of paramecium
I'm really weird. Im a 12 year old girl and i love stuff like this! Protista and monera rule!!!! I also love the tardigrades (water bears) and aomibas!!
@XChurisoX you're awesome!!! Don't ever lose your interest! So many people (at your age and older) lose their curiosity and are caught up in superficiality, Way to go for holding tight to it. Your kind of inquisitiveness will get you far in life. Kudos chica. <3 a 25 year old girl
nice vid! Im looking at either volvox or blephasmeria (did I spell that right) under a microscope tomorow.Today I looked at vinigar eels.I was so sad when we had to wipe them up with paper towels.ITS MURDUR I TELL YA! MURDUR!
this looks cool and luckily the stentor moves slow. one time in science class we were looking at something that was zooming across the slide and after a short time i found a non moving one but it was dead
Next time, try putting the light level between the 1st and your highest. The stentor appears to turn neon with the dark contrast. I discovered it yesterday while looking at it in my lab. It looks amazing!!!
cool video!! thanks for sharing :)

Good job. I took hundreds of stills in the 60s - wasn't so easy back then.

I want to disturb a Stentor SO BADLY. I love how they just fly back into themselves.

It's only weird because modern society, full of idiots and anti-intellectualists(is that a word?), decided that.
In reality, you're pretty much above most humans, thanks to the ability that can be considered very rare among humans; passion and curiosity.
