All roofs slope 23 deg to the south. As I have watched the house during the last two winters, I have observed that the slope builds up during a storm and then blows off in the wind. As soon as the sun comes out, it takes about 2 hrs to melt away and the array starts generating electricity again.

Was there a system built in to take care of snow build up on the flat surfaces on top?

Yeah I was thinking about that too... Maybe there's a snow shovle included?
Or maybe it's just meant for areas that don't get as much snow, that's where solar power should work best too right?
