when you got him down to the ground you should have just controlled him there the rest of the round and landed a few simple shots from dominant position to win the round, maybe gone for a submission attempt towards the end of the round to win it, and if u won the 1st round then in the 2 round he would be more agressive and you could have ountered him wiht heavy shots and takedowns. when you had him down why did you let him get both hesfeet on your chest/stomach and push you away?rookie mistake
Einemo should not have let him back up when he had him down, and he looked very bad conditioned, looked like he was trying to go for the early knockout and then punched himself empty, he should also have been more careful with herman's knees, i watched 2 minutes of herman's fights from youtube and i immediately noticed that he have very dangerous knees and that he loves to throw them, better luck next time einar, or better than luck, stick to what your good at get em down and keep em there

Einemo is now facing Dave Herman at ufc 131 which is a much more even match up. Carwin has a great chance to get back to the top now but he has never faced a top striker like dos Santos whose speed and technical ability should be to much for carwin. Expect carwin to gas and dos Santos to win by second round tko

Carwin is a world class wrestler, and has cinder blocks for fists. everyone of his fights he has beaten his opponent down like no other only 1 man got out of the 1st round(lesnar) I dont see this going any different
But he took down werdum few times. Also he trains in golden glory for 3 years, so i think that olav is smart enaugh to keep distance and trade jabs with carwin until carwin gets tired and then take fight to the ground and submit him.

In that years olav trained in golden glory(there he trained together with overeem, kharitonov, mousasi, schilt, karaev, saki, zimmerman, leko and werdum) it means that his striking is highly improved because that gym has a lot of kickboxers. I saw in few videos how he outwrestling kharitonov. His body looks in pretty good shape now, he has better ground game and striking than a lot of poeple thinks. And carwin has no cardio. Olav by T/KO or submission in round 3.

I sense there's something fishy in that Carwin vs Einemo-fight. Einemo hasn't fought mma professionally since 2006 and suddenly he is in the co-main event against a top contender. He is a huge underdog coming into this fight, but I think he isn't the same fighter when he fought colossus. Only few people know that he's been training at the golden glory gym in the past 4 years.
Shane isn't going to gas out. He's in pretty good shape when he stays around 255. They only reason he gassed out in the Lesnar fight is because he was throwing punches for like 3 of the 5 minutes of round one. He didn't pick his shots in that fight, instead he just threw a bunch of punches that weren't really landing. He punched himself out. With his upcoming fight against Einemo, Carwin is going to knock him out first round. I don't think ring rust will factor in too much.
What I KNOW is a 1st round knock out by Carwin, what i HOPE is a second round submission by Olva. If he's not a wrestler he can't get pass Shane's counter wrestling.

In fact, nobody ever submits Alistair in training, he pounds the shit out of all of us. While John Olav has a world class ground game and his stand-up is very legit now, Alistair is on a totally different level alltogether like you would not believe.

Einemo vs. Carwin is such a mysterious matchup. Einemo looked like he was a decent prospect 4 1/2 years ago as well as an ADCC champion, but I can't fathom how he could be considered a worthy matchup for Carwin or even UFC material right now. I guess they're just keeping Carwin fresh in case JDS or Lesnar gets injured.
I can't imagine that there's not a UFC-tested guy who could be a warmup fight for Carwin, though. Someone like Russow, although Carwin might break his hands on his head.

Einemo is now facing Dave Herman at ufc 131 which is a much more even match up. Carwin has a great chance to get back to the top now but he has never faced a top striker like dos Santos whose speed and technical ability should be to much for carwin. Expect carwin to gas and dos Santos to win by second round tko

you guys are all fucking idiots. carwin has a wrestling background, and a weight advantage. Also, strength. On top of that knock out power in both fists. If he has taken out frank mir who is a top ufc fighter with great stand up and even better ground game in the first round, what makes you think some guy that is nowhere near ufc material let alone strikeforce material will even make it out of round one.

Carwin is a world class wrestler, and has cinder blocks for fists. everyone of his fights he has beaten his opponent down like no other only 1 man got out of the 1st round(lesnar) I dont see this going any different

In that years olav trained in golden glory(there he trained together with overeem, kharitonov, mousasi, schilt, karaev, saki, zimmerman, leko and werdum) it means that his striking is highly improved because that gym has a lot of kickboxers. I saw in few videos how he outwrestling kharitonov. His body looks in pretty good shape now, he has better ground game and striking than a lot of poeple thinks. And carwin has no cardio. Olav by T/KO or submission in round 3.

@Nick718BkLyN i believe that it will be a competetive fight....i was stating that saying this fighter beat so and so, and another fighter lost to so and so, is not an opinion, they both have strong skill sets, carwin having the edge standing, J.O.E having an advantage on the ground, it could be a different outcome depending on who determines where this fight takes place. It's funny ppl think this cat is gonna beat Shane Carwin, this guy is a bean pole! Yeah he is a black belt in BJJ but that's not gonna do him any good b/c carwins take down defense is legit as fuck! Shane is Maaaaasive and very powerful, also a purple belt as well in BJJ which is a high level belt in that martial art. I'm pickin carwin definitely gonna make another run at that title! And hopefully gets another chance at Brock to beat his ass again and actually get the win this time!

I sense there's something fishy in that Carwin vs Einemo-fight. Einemo hasn't fought mma professionally since 2006 and suddenly he is in the co-main event against a top contender. He is a huge underdog coming into this fight, but I think he isn't the same fighter when he fought colossus. Only few people know that he's been training at the golden glory gym in the past 4 years.

Shane isn't going to gas out. He's in pretty good shape when he stays around 255. They only reason he gassed out in the Lesnar fight is because he was throwing punches for like 3 of the 5 minutes of round one. He didn't pick his shots in that fight, instead he just threw a bunch of punches that weren't really landing. He punched himself out. With his upcoming fight against Einemo, Carwin is going to knock him out first round. I don't think ring rust will factor in too much.

@noble89tee See his opponents at ADCC. He is training in golden glory for 3 years, also when he didnt fought in mma, he fought in ADCC. It means that he will be much better striker and a bit better grappler than he was in his last mma fights. He is about 10 cm taller than carwin, so it will be very convenient for him to trade jabs with carwin. Carwin will get tired after round one, so olav will win by submission, gnp or decision.

Th4e ting with him is you csn be a striker much better than him, but with this iron chin and those wrecking ball hands of his he only needs to land one shot where others have to hit him several times to drop him... @DoomsdayKillz Einemo subbs overeem on a regular basis at training so i doubt power is an issue. In this clip einemo is much heavier now as well. he's weight is now 118kg's. Dont be to sure Carwin will win this easy. it can go either way.

@dorull83 I train with both Overeem and John Olav, and I can tell you that John Olav does not by any means submit Alistair on a regular basis. In fact, nobody ever submits Alistair in training, he pounds the shit out of all of us. While John Olav has a world class ground game and his stand-up is very legit now, Alistair is on a totally different level alltogether like you would not believe.
The "fact" that he is submitting Overeem in training is something you just pulled out of your ass.

Just because you have been at glory dosent mean you train WITH them. i can't say i've trained WITH Ray Elbe, Roger Huerta, Gracie etc just because iv'e trained at Tiger. That's how I KNOW what goes down in training, unlike you who make baseless claims about what happens there. John Olav is an outstanding grappler, but he does not "submit Alistair on a regular basis".. Noone does.

Einemo vs. Carwin is such a mysterious matchup. Einemo looked like he was a decent prospect 4 1/2 years ago as well as an ADCC champion, but I can't fathom how he could be considered a worthy matchup for Carwin or even UFC material right now. I guess they're just keeping Carwin fresh in case JDS or Lesnar gets injured.
I can't imagine that there's not a UFC-tested guy who could be a warmup fight for Carwin, though. Someone like Russow, although Carwin might break his hands on his head.

He is a world class grappler and even though he havent been fighting much the last 3-4 years it dosent mean he hasn't trained hard and not been fighting. He have been training with golden glory for 3 years now. I'm sure training standup with Overeem for 3 years makes you good enough. He also regulary subbs Overeem in sparring so i dont think power would be any issue.

@bugzy87th J.O.E. is a very dangerous opponent most fans decide how dangerous a fighter is by how many UFC fights they have had look at UFC 96 EVERYBODY had Gonzaga killing Shane but Shane surprised everybody I do have Shane winning by KO in the first round but i believe in will be in the same way he beat Mir dirty boxing to counter the BJJ of Einemo and dont forget Carwin is a purple belt in BJJ so if it goes do the ground like it did with Gonzaga Shane will pop right back up WAR CARWIN!!
