  • Hey I remember this one. Jeez I must have been 12 when I first saw this one. The old man lying on his back was name Gato, I think. And didn't the shark end up eating a gorilla?

  • C'est vraiment une supeeeeeeeer...faute de goût >< ...

  • Just think how silly Rise of the Planet of the Apes will look in 30 years.

  • this tv serial is my childhood memories. i like this serial very much. Khalid Mehmood Saman Sargodha Pakistan.

  • How can you people be so rude?

  • I actually love the music. Thanks :)

  • General Urko would of killed the Barry Gibb in a moments notice...nobody fucks with General Urko...thank fuck General Urko was not Bin Ladens number two or Saddams right hand man...sorry ape.

  • Who cares what music was put in the video, the point of it is to watch the segments of the TV series. I like the video and the song isn't half bad. Nostalgia xD

If people don't like it, mute it, now go hate spam elsewhere.

  • This music sucks! I'm glad two of the Gibss are worm meat too.

  • the problem people have is not the crap music but that you didn't put "MUSIC VIDEO" in the title...yes, fewer people would of clicked on the link, but then fewer people would be hating it so much. Thanks.

  • IF for some reason, You couldn't post with the OST, it would've been immeasurably more decent of You to upload it silent. Would've shown some respect and also would save us the time of muting that horrendous crap with which You tried to sabotage a classic clip. Wow, vandalism. For shame, dude. Shame. Gotta give a big thumbs down to your clip for that, sorry.

  • Una pelicula genial, con un reparto maravilloso......casi te hace pensar, que esté cerca de la realidad.

  • this series is better... cuando niño no me perdia ni un capitulo, seria mostro que la vuelvan a dar.

  • Where in the fuck is the original music. Not some gay Bee Gee number.

  • This song goes really well with this video. Well done

  • These episodes are all included in Hasslein Books' reference publications - "Timeline of the Planet of the Apes" and the newly released "Lexicon of the Planet of the Apes".

  • What the f*ck's up with that music?

  • amava esse filme na minha imfancia

  • Uplifting!

  • Thank you for the memorys. I have all the Planet Of the Apes films and the Tv series they made and being a Bee Gees and Barry Gibb fan this song adds it all up. I cant think of a better song for these memorys.

  • Muito legal esse clip dos macacos, tanto o filme como a série foram sucesso!

  • it would have been infinitely more enjoyable without the cheesy music you added.

  • Sometimes we have to please ourselves!

  • @nycpara897 : Mute it if you don't like it. Watch the video instead <.< nab

  • Thank you for putting this montage together, I love it! I am a big fan of the TV Series and to see this was great. Could you please let me know which Bee Gees song this is? I like it and think it suits the clip perfectly. Thanks again for posting!

  • What a delightful and polite comment.

It's getting increasingly difficult to post 'clips' onto YouTube - the programme makers don't like people infringing their copyrights.

    The song?

Well, it isn't quite a Bee Gees track. It's a Barry Gibb solo called Childhood Days. It was used as the theme for a movie called Hawks (1989) - starring Timothy Dalton.

    Regards.

    Douglas.

  • this is garbage...how much dope you been smoking to see that this is a good vid...get real pal

  • Photo Montage..... Oh Boy, at least they didn't have

some sort of "Death Metal" distortion music to

really spoil the mood... I'm not sure if distorted

guitars go with ANYTHING these days.

  • tengo la serie completa con subtitulos en castellano , personas interesadas escribanme.

  • Not sure about the Homo Erectus music... You must be getting bored of about that ???

  • Youtube litter likes this makes it harder to find the real thing.

  • Those pictures ARE genuine.

If you want to see a full episode - you won't find it on YouTube coz we can only ever upload 10 mins of material.

You'll just have to buy the DVD!

    I'm wondering what you expected?

  • Scenes with sound from the scene, not crap music. Youtube litter stinks.

  • You mean 'clips'

There are plenty of clips. This is a montage. Music is a matter of taste or lack thereof!

Planet of the Apes are from our Childhood Days - hence the choice of song.

    Sorry...

  • This is litter.

  • No it isn't! ...

    LOL!

  • Smokey Bear says "Only You!"

  • FOX would pull the episodes off within a day - they may not even make it past the upload stage...

  • whats this nonsense all about

  • A try putting the theme of the new 3 stooges cartoon to this, that should work.

  • Dude, you suck.what is this shit?.Show an episode or don`t show anything at all!.And what with the gay ass song?

  • this isn't a video

  • ok then i was alive that year. thanks.

  • ORKO was my fav

  • It`s URKO.

  • as kids me and my sister nicknamed my father urko -at my mothers wish its actually on his grave stone

  • Very cool.I thought about having a replica Ape coffin made for myself when I go,just like the one in the first film.

  • The General was mine as well as a child, my father used to go mad cos he thought a footballer or moviestar should be my hero....but their was only one hero for me and that was General Urko...

  • what year it air?. i remember watching it also pretty sure.

i think i even remember seeing the advertise for it before it even aired on tv.

  • first aired in 1974

  • Era una serie fabulosa, me recuerda cuando de niño la veia, espero que bajen sus episodios. Gracias

  • I remember watching this on Friday nights with my father. He does not remember Planet of the Apes ever being a TV series. My sister used to complain every week that she had to go to bed before me and miss the show. I'm 3 years older than her, so I got to stay up later than her. Ticked her off all the time.

I have to find more of these clip to send to my father to prove that PotA WAS in fact a TV series WAY back then. Thanks for posting.

  • Did u put this music on the video? It's not very good.

  • Ohh dear.

You're not the fist to suggest this.

    Sorry.

  • don't change it, its awesome

  • One of the best tv-shows ever.

  • I agree. I remember watching this on friday nights with my grandpa on a snowy tv...

  • onde que eu acho os dvs's desta série?

quem souber por favor me dê um toque.

  • I used to imagine the two as a gay couple: the blond top (so hot!) the other botton. Oh delicious!

  • I'm listening to the BEE GEES singing an intro song, right? Is this the song for the series or is this some homemade video? Not really paying close attention here, but browsing.

  • Brand new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible Life) by Michelle Bernier for sale at amazon!

  • Ahhhh - you're a queer! That explains your remarks.

There are two things you need to be 'politically correct'

    1. Embrace the blacks

    2. Be homosexual

If you have these two traits - then you'll get on in the modern world.

No wonder I enjoy looking at old TV shows.

  • People take the comment to serious I got to go somewhere Bye

  • Vote for Borak Banana!

The first Ape to become President of the USA.

  • racist!!!!

  • racist shit

  • Errrrrrrrrrm - this is about apes!

    Errrrrrrrrrrm - Obama is half-white?

    Or is he half-black?

Anyway - if he's half-something I can't realistically be prejudice? Mine was a play with words NOT racism.

These days - if you have a smidge of chocolate on your face - you can get branded a racist. Truth is: I don't care

I would have voted for Obama had I been a US Citizen. McCain and that woman weren't half the statesman Obama is.

  • We got to call the last president a chimpanzee. It's racist NOT to let people call Obama one.

  • You are a a disgusting racist.

  • Ouch!

But remember who made THE ORIGINAL negative remarks!

"You are a disgrace to whatever racial group, you are sloppe into" ETC....

Glad you're not PC and glad you're not gay.

Hope you'll be equally delighted to learn that I'm not gay either.

    Mutual congratulations are in order!

  • very knew there was a tv series its not in australia

  • the tv show was in australia

  • Me & my girl we love each other.

  • good tv, show, i rememeber it well, and love the bee gees, singing in thi sclip.

  • Cool video. I love this show. I'm probably one of the youngest fans tho lol.

  • These makeups are incredible. And they´re much better than the makeups used in that awfull new Planet of the Apes movie.

  • James Naughton is VERY arrogant today (and old). I've seen him in interviews and he doesn't seem to get it that he's OLD now, no longer hot.

  • Funny how they always had clean close they worse everyday and had a better shave than even I could do with a Gillette Mach

  • Thanks for the info. about the Barry Gibb song.

    Very interesting............did not know that.

  • I'm a big Bee Gees fan and I've never heard this song before. It's a great song. Anybody know when the Bee Gees came out with this song and on what album?

I really liked this show when I was young.

    Thanks for the post.

  • This song featured in a 1988 film called Hawks, starring Bond star, Timothy Dalton. Barry Gibb was in charge of the soundtrack including this Theme called Childhood Days.

  • I loved the cowboy western style rifles and horseback riding by the Apes.

  • Yeah! Right on!

  • I loved this series growing up wish they would bring it back my favourite character was General Urko ha. BRING THIS BACK TO OUR TV'S

  • I loved this series as a little lad.Shame about not having the theme tune to it!

  • Haven't been able to find it yet. There are ways to draw it off the DVD.

Having said that... the music has been the souce of many sordid comments on here. I am often amused when others are cheesed off!

    Aren't I a tease!?...

  • it sucks !

  • slideshow shit

  • the music is the best i love it

  • what is this music???????

    be gees????

    are you nuts!!!!!!!

    lol!!!!

try tangerine dream for this movie

    llllloooooooolllllll

  • yeah! im like Planet Apes;-)

  • Iloved the series iwas about the age of nine when thy showed them on belgian tv,but i dont find the dvd over here, a tip anyone ?

  • My Local Walmart sold them so maybe you can buy it from them on line?

  • Why would someone cut the apes with that music? This Sux!

  • Why do people add gay music to classic clips like this? Geez.

  • oops... sorry...

    Not the best choice then?

But - don't the ape sillouettes in the montage look like the Bee Gees against the sunset? Galen has a Barry Gibb hairstyle -- scary!

NOW do you see the connection?

  • Music's not bad, this guy's just dumb.

  • this tv series is so interesting even if the makeup and effects are bad.

  • Def. a blast from the past and my all time favorite tv series, thank you!

  • i loooove the original planet of the ape movies! anyways im defidently not as old as you ppl(sorry!) so ive never seen this show. but i wish it could be on tv so i could see it! are the movies availible on dvd?(what i have is my dads old vhs ones!lol) anyways just thought id share that!lol.

  • Yes, they are on DVD. Go to Amazon and you should have no trouble tracking them down. I am thinking of getting them myself, lol!

  • Wonderful ,

gorgeous!!! I love this TV series!!!

Ron "Virdon" Harper, James "Burke" Naucghton and Roddy "Ape" McDowall r fantastics.... My heroes!!!

  • Thank you for your amazingly positive response. I agree, of course, they were fabulous!

  • By the way, James Naughton (Burke) is David Naughton's (the American Werewolf in London!) brother.

  • I just realised that my musical score is by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees. Don't the ape sillouettes in the montage look like the Bee Gees against the sunset? Galen has a Barry Gibb hairstyle -- scary!

  • Just got the series on DVD...it's amazing how ingrained something can become in a 10 year old! I hadn't seen this in over 30 years, but still remembered some of the episodes!

  • I know what you mean. I have the DVD's too. The episode I remember most is the one where they come accross the (ancient) computers and recording equipment underground in the nuked city. I also remembered quite well the first ever episode. I was 10-ish too. Hence the music, "Childhood Days".

  • I was 10 years old when this was on TV

    in Canada.

  • I must have been around 10-ish too. Makes us about the same age then. Have you had your mid-life crisis yet? I am having mine right here on YouTube - with all this RETRO stuff!

  • I actually look young for my age,but it will

    get worse as I approach 50. YouTube is neat;

it has given me the opportunity to go back in time and see stuff I haven't seen in over 30

    years-for free!

  • Top show from 1974 & ecellent music score, it was shown on sunday nights in west wales, Galen was great.

  • Thanks for your pleasant comment. I live in North Wales - so we watched at the same time then on HTV CYMRU/WALES - memories of Arfon Haynes Davies and Margaret Prichard? Ahhhh bechod!

  • Wow, I remember that show, waaaaaaaay back in the day

  • It WAS a long time ago now... make me kinda sad. Problem is; have you noticed that TV technology (in terms of production techniques and picture quality etc) has improved no end... but in the main, modern shows are actually crap. I used to watch this in black & white! Gone... gone... childhood days!

  • Yes I AGREED YOU BIG TIME. Today TV are so so crap.

I was 6 in 1974. Love this TV SERIES but sadly cut short. I love all apes.

  • One of the best tv-shows ever.

  • Getting back to the show, I liked it, particular Mark Lenard's character "Urko".

  • Thank you! The blog on this video has gone downhill a bit recently. I liked Urko too, and Galen, and Zeus. Infact I think the whole series is pretty good and the films too. The most recent film was good but not quite as good asthe old jobs...

  • He was so good I never noticed that he wasn't the same actor as in the movies.... this series was surprisingly good.

  • He's an ape!

  • Who's an ape then?

  • this complete bullshit tv series

    typical bullshit rascist L.A. actors

  • I assume that you're not a fan then? - and erm... you're black? Ohhh dear!

  • Why do you say that?

  • The song's nice. Oh, God, suddenly I'm a kid again myself watching this. I think this and the old Star Trek were where I got my first taste of Scifi

  • This is a really nice song - but I am a HUGE fan of the BEE GEES. Got the WHOLE TV series on DVD. This was a great piece of TV and introduced many to films that had come before and followed in the wake of the TV series. Love it. Thanks Lisa.

  • Thanks, made my whole day! Hmmmm. Maybe Barry Gibb can turn to writing music for science fiction. Haahah! Maybe singing planets or something!!!

  • lol

  • change that song!!!

  • rubbish

  • This sucks!!! Where is the real theme instead of this trashy song???

  • Ok - Ok - where's your "artistic licence!?". It reminds me of my Childhood Days - hence the Barry Gibb song. Apart from that - I can't get my hands on a long enough copy of the theme tune to see the movie out - it barely lasts 45 seconds! But thanks for your comment anyway.
