This is clearly based on "Mars" from "The Planet's Suite" by Gustav Holst.

It works beautifully.

I didn't have a copy of Star Wars when I was a kid - but my parents had a vinyl record of "The Planets" - when left alone, I put the record on and imagined it was my own spaceship being sucked into the Death Star.
