I saw a streak in the sky over Wymondhm, Norfolk, England on the 31st January 2012. I was on my way to work and saw a long silvery streak headed in a North Easterly direction at around 22:45 GMT. So a totally different time to the USA sighting, but still it was largest I have ever seen. The tail had taken some time to dissipate after the object crossed the sky compared to what I'm used to seeing, it was also a lot thicker than normal size shooting stars tails I have seen.

Meteor my ass!!! I posted this information yesterday, but I see it was never followed up on, so I will say this again. I live in the Texas area; furthermore, I personally know of someone who witnessed this so called meteor that it is NOT. What is failed to mention here is the fact that this was accompanied by the "STRANGE WORLD NOISE" that many others have captured and reported here on youtube. If that's a meteor, that is the largest, brightest and longest sustained meteor I have ever seen. That thing was at least the size of a small car or truck. Something that big MUST have remnants that made impact. I'd have to see the impact crater to believe that this was just a meteor.

weird thing is that most of the recent sightings of the meteors have the color green. My friend saw two pass down his lakehouse last summer and heard a sonic boom after they passed. I'm certain those weren't meteors

Uprated. Fun! I'm still wondering what I saw blow up in the sky in Brittany, France in 2005. I just happened to look out the window, great stargazing out there, no light pollution or planes, and it was like a big white amoeba! I was not drunk or asleep. This was two nights before we were supposed to blow up the DEEP IMPACT asteroid. Cool clip! Doesn't really look like meteor here to me.
