  • this is totaly not a fully grown perch!! ive caught one of 43cm and i bet that one is barley 17cm's perch can grow over 50cm (almoste 2 ft)

  • Hi mate can you help me as my lfs`s haven`t a clue.I had 7 red fined perch ive only 2 left and 1 is in a nures tank with problem. They have all died of cloudy eye ive treated each fish with api medafix it clears up but then comes back.Ive done water changes on my big tank waters fine plus all my other spices of fish are fine its only perch to perch diesese can you help do you know what it is

  • @mosschops1982

Such a remote diagnosis is very hard. Cloudy eye is the result of a mucosal overproduction, mostly caused by a bacterial infection. Stress and many other factors can weaken the immune system of a fish (that can also be the reason for the fact that not all fish are infected. Some fish can handle such a situation way better). So the reason might be the situation, the water, some bad bacteria, etc.

  • @mosschops1982

I watched your videos. The water seems a big cloudy to me. Might be a sign of an bacteria bloom. And the color of the perches is kinda pale. This and their hectic behaviour might be a sign of stress. BUT: If i wouldn't know that you have this problem, i'd never think that these facts might be a reason for such widespread deaths.

What water parameter did you check? Is this a brand new tank? Can you show me the sick fish? Is it undernourished? Are they wild caught?

  • the pike is small ... i caugt a 3-4 kg pike and it was like 4 times bigger swedish pike record is 19,6 or 19,4 can't remember (by the way it was caugth on a conrad )

  • @aDAMPis1913

Well, yes. "Fully grown perch" and a (small) pike...^^

    But such title wouldn't fit.

I have to see a tank with a living 15kg+ pike in it. :D

  • @n03lzz 15kg+ pike would be awsome

  • there not big enough buddy i catch them way bigger feed them a ton and they can be big yummy fatty's.

  • @unkowen133

    How big are your fish?

  • they look rather old lol

  • @niknaknow

    That's because they are old.

  • dobre ;) 6

  • They have too!!! There's an old magazine on it that shows pictures and write ups and stuff. They were caught long ago in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Lakes are over fished now so you can't find 'em that big.

  • pike have not been caught over 100 pounds, thats an extreme exageration. the record is around 54

  • Those Perch are monsters! The pike's puny! They don't reach full size. They only die cuza sickness and starvation. They've been caught over 100 pounds! -No joke! You wouldn't wan't a big pike anyways cuz yur Perch would be swimming fillits.

  • @TheRdjj4:

Hi, unfortunately I don't remember how big the pike was and it's not good to see in the video. But I'll look for it when I'm going to visit this zoo the next time.

  • fully grown ???

  • @doggy69247:

Yes, some of these guys are at least 30cm (1 feet).

  • go check out my fish and tell me what you think

  • Hi, i'm gonna check them out. Thanks for the hint.

  • sweet thanks

  • Would a small pike be able to live in a 55 gallon tank????

  • I'd say that's the minimum for a very small pike, but not for a long time. It needs much more space when it grows up. And i grows up very fast.

  • I wouldn't say any pike could cause they get to big. you might could keep a pickerel which is related to a pike and looks almost exactly the same except they are much smaller but even they would eventually get to big. but if you do get one... good luck.

  • those are MASSIVE perch.... NEVER seen them that big... then again there not in danger so they can grow big..

  • I've another video with huge perch (and also big barbels). Look for "Huge redfin perch and giant barbel / Flussbarsch und Barbe @ a Zoo Aquarium [1/1]" or /watch?v=IDKeRNAg2v0.

  • why dont any of ur vids have sound

  • There's no sound while filming, at least there's no sound of the fish :D. So I delete all the unnecesary (background) noise. And I don't mix any music to my videos, because I just want to show the tanks and fish, but nothing else. I want a plain "natural" presentation without creating any stories or emotions by bringing in some music (that would ruin everything, I also can't match everbodies taste of music).

  • Hey man do u think u could send me a email about how to keep fish you catch alive in tank. Cause i keep trying and they keep dying.

    Thanks!

  • You'll need so much information. It would take me a long time to write it down. I recommend to go to the libary and get some good books about fish keeping. If you have some questions after reading it, i'll try to answer.

  • i caught a huge pike at a park by my house other day.

  • Congratulation.

  • how big?

  • i got a 15pound pike on dead bate

  • ohhh der barsch sieht nicht gut aus -.-

  • Hi,

ja da hast du Recht. Ich vermute allerdings, dass es sich um relativ alte Tiere handeln muss.

  • What do you feed your perch?

    Thanks

  • Oh, woops their not yours.. xD

  • dont know why my comment ended up under codkiller23. it was ment fore you KiitCat x)

  • Yes, right. I'va had them in my pond. I feed them sticks and earthworms. But they became too big and too aggressive, so I released them in a lake.

  • thx for lettin em go man =).

  • i have two perch`s on about 13-16 cm...and i can tell you, they eat everything....cut your finger of and they eat it x) they are always atacking my fingers during cleaning or something, buut i dont recomend feeding them your fingers x)...i give them schampi, live fish, earth wors, live shrimps, and if i see a bug il throw it in the tank its the regular predator feeding realy but i keep it variated couse theyr wild i got them when they where about 1 cm....hope it helped.

  • can this fish fit in my 3 gallon without a filter, heater, gravel, plants, rocks, hood ,lights, and decorations? And the water has chlorine in it.

  • No, you can't do that!!! ;)

  • No. Thats the worst possible thing you could do to a fish! You need all those things you mentioned on the list exept for the chlorine obviously! lol They just wont feel relaxed and at home without all the essentials!

  • yes i know i fish them all the time and that would be great thx

  • ya i probly will thanks for the help

  • Here is another pike-tank: "Pike and Carp in a fish tank / Hecht und Karpfen @ a Zoo Aquarium [1/1]". I'll do some research on pikes in fish tanks. What i know is: a northern pike grows about freakin' 15cm (5.6 inch) a year. A 1 cm (0.4 inch) small fry is about 30cm (12 inch) long after only two years.

  • oh ya i know but the 120 gal is empty its ready for the pike it just has lil feeder minnos for him no other fish r in there

  • I am a lillte bit doubtful of your plan, but I wish you all the very best! Maybe post a video of it, I'll watch it.^^

  • no i have an empty 120gal fosh tank with a bubbler and a big drift wood with live plants

  • Such a tank would be great for your red tailed sharks. A pike would devour every fsh that fit in its mouth and after one year it would be too big, even for this big tank.

I suggest to arrange some kind of themed tank. South or Central America, Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika or Southeast Asia (the last would fit to the rtbs)

  • so i wont need to have chemicals or can i just use tap water will the cemichals hurt the fish?

  • I don't know your tap water. Ours in Germany has a very good quality and no chemicals in it. But if you have something like chlorine in it would it be deadly for every fish.

I hope you don't plan to put a pike in your 30 gal tank.

  • hey its me i commented on some of ur other vids umm do u need chemicals for pike like the chemicals u would put in for cichlids?

    help me plzz

    thx

  • I don't use any chemicals even not for cichlids. Generally speaking they are less fastidious then tropical fish, but they need a really giant tank... 3000 liter (800 us gallon) and more.

  • thats brilliant!

    what do you feed them?

  • This is not my tank. It's the tank of the Aquazoo-Löbbecke Museum Düsseldorf. So, unfortunately I don't know what they feed them.

  • ah sorry i should have read the info more carefully :P

great vid though, thanks for posting it!

  • i want one lol, where could i buy one or a perch too either one?

  • It's hard to find some to buy. I know only one pet shop that sells it in my proximity (NRW, Germany). This store calls itself: "The biggest pet shop in the world: Zajac".

  • haha ok thanks, i live no where near germany but oh well thanks for tha help man

  • Maybe some other youtube user out of Canada can help you.

  • It's easy to catch them :)

  • nice tank...lovley fish pikes always waiting...

  • Yeah... This pike is the king of the tank.^^
