Not like it really matters anymore, but does maskless Claw count? There is a 700 class for Guile. 766 on maskless Claw plus counter to be exact.

@okutabareo Maskless Vega does count but don't forget that he has 1000 vitality, so you'd need 950 damage to "get within 50 points of killing" him.

Um, that's still cool with me. I remember someone said that their recorded version of the combo only had one hit on the first uppercut of Sagat's ultra but that two was possible? Either way it's nice to see the maximums.

I'm noticing a lot of effort going into discussing sub-700 combos. Just to let you know, i'm not gonna accept a video under 700.

But if you want to show a combo where you've gotten close with a character that seems impossible, there's a way around. Just record a (new!) 700+ combo and include your best Sakura/Viper/etc. idea added as a bonus clip.

Cool? That way the video contains a clip that meets the requirement and i can accept it. Otherwise the responses would get too cluttered.

If you can setup the combo at 1:10 of /watch?v=y9KdexlnELk you can ex seismo after 3rd ex tk and then burn kick to ultra. This will give you around 720 dmg. This is the only way I can see viper pulling this challenge off.

you can't relaunch/juggle enemies with seismo and I'm actually not even sure if you can land the ultra after a BK/EX BK

its not a juggle. The opponent is in crumple stun from the ex tk. I think u are looking at the wrong ex tk. Its after the 3rd one that you would have to do ex seismo. Also In the corner after a seismo you can super jump cancel and do a burning kick in the air then when you land if timed right you can juggle the ultra.

Looking back on that video now I could be wrong. Since only the first hit of the ex thunder knuckle hits each time the damage will probably be significantly less than expected. As the guy below me said it probably is impossible

ah, my god, I kinda had in my backhead you want to do an ex BK, with a HJ cancel everything works as you said, but the 2 half-damaged TKs still destroy the output

anyway, it will still not work; an ex TK cross ups over the whole screen, you are, definitely too far away for any BK, also you would have to use 5 EX bars, what's also not within this challenge

it's simply not possible with Viper in any way, sadly

and if you work with infinite super and FADC the seimso, and the ultra hits, the final damage would be 762

You can set up a trade with Blanka's rolling attack. I gave up because the timing was so difficult, but I did manage to combo into a slide... so there may be more possibilities.

a friend told me that if you use rufus jumping hard kick, ex snake strike, ultra lvl 2 ... you get a killcombo against seth. he says it was a 720 damage combo.

So this challenge practically turned into a "700+ damage combo challenge". I hope to see someone try for even an 800+ combo on Gouki. With everyone picking Seth, this challenge kinda lost its true meaning. I'd like to see a vid on a dummy Ryu, for example.

Yup, that's why it's called "700 Class" after all.

Very few characters can reach 800 or more. But hopefully as everyone learns more about the damage system, we'll see a few unexpected characters reach higher plateaus.

I see. I overlooked the title, but that's because video descriptions are usually more informative than titles, and "any dummy" contradicts the video's title. And there is only one 700 character class in SFIV anyway: Seth.

Um, i think you misunderstood. The challenge IS to reach max damage. In fact if you want to reach 800 damage, it's probably harder against Seth than anyone else because his lifebar scaling kicks in sooner.

However, this is the first day so everyone's testing the waters with Seth. I pointed to the title because you asked if i knew that everyone was gonna have Seth as the dummy.

What i'm trying to say is: Yeah i'm aware, but i'm hoping it goes beyond that.

Wish i had a better answer for you, but at this point i really don't know. To be honest i just made the first one on a whim and decided to call it "Vol.1" at the last minute, to leave it open for more later.

It was just a bunch of cool tricks that had piled up and i filled in the missing blanks as i went along. If i began working on another one today, i'd only have 3 or 4 starting ideas ready.

So i hate to say it but it'll be a while.

I like the challange. It's a good one, but there are so many people either charging ppp into special with Boxer or Ex fireball, Ex fireball, Ex fireball, Ultra with Goken. That's pretty lame, I hope to see more challangers put effort into their responses.

Nah i don't mind. It's only one hit and some characters need it. Plus it's a part of maximizing damage, which is where i hope these responses will go.

I can't really issue a "maximize damage" challenge because even if i knew what all the maximums were, i couldn't say the number without giving away a huge clue.

Well, right.

At least you can see where a Counter Hit occured and where not, so it's still, as you said, a legit way of adding some damage which is probably needed to achieve the 700+.

I will go and keep thinking of a Viper combo.. it must be possible..

No because it's not impossible to do 800 damage to Akuma or 950 to Vega.

If i make it 700 to anyone, then the whole challenge becomes much easier because Zangief's lifebar damage reduction kicks in much later than Seth's.
