SIDE NOTE: Aw why is he so reserved here? He must be like D'Angelo: made FANTASTIC music but reluctant to comeback after so long bc he doesnt know if he'll have the same sound that every1 loved. When u have ppl wait & wait, suspense builds & it can be pressuring to an artist.

But i hope Shuggie & all artists like Shuggie get the courage to continue, no matter how long of a gap. :)

SHUGGIE!! he is the definition of under-rated. It's VERY rare to hear of his name, let alone see him. He's been pretty much reclusive since like 1974. Anyone interested in his music NEEDS to pick up the reissue of "Inspiration Information," which is a compilation of songs from the 1974 album of the same name & selected songs from the epic "Freedom Flight" record.

I grew up on his music. This stuff is amazing

@jpgr6270 Lol, I find some people talking guitar greats and not even have hard of Shuggie. I simply ask how they can talk like they know and not even know Shuggie. Sure you can know all the commonly known guitarists but you don't begin to delve till you start looking for the ones that inspired the ones that mainstream consider as great. Hell, the only reason people know about Robert Johnson is cause of the movie Crossroads. People still don't understand how he played the way he did.

I mean - piano playing, funky drum playing, composing, arranging - that's way more than being a great guitar player. 'm I right?

If they realized that if they supported someone with the talent to create such great sounds we would have so much better music and our souls would be the better for it.

I have been trying to find Shuggie. I went to Sebastopol, California to try to find him only to end up standing in line behind his brother at a coffee shop. I didn't even know that was his brother until the dude at the coffee shop told me and his bro was gone. I posted a cover of Strawberry Letter 23 hoping he would see it. I will meet you one day Shuggie :)
