  • Thanks for the video Dave! I'm a Weber Smokey Mountain user and am thinking of switching to a Traeger this summer. Is the model you own a "Lil Tex" or a "Junior"? It looks like it has a nice sized cooking area. Thanks!

  • @xN1kolaix Thx for your kind comment. I have a Lil Tex but I am thinking about selling it and getting a Texan. The extra width will be enough for me to do a 25-30lb whole pig. Or I may get the Caja China for pigs only. I rented a Caja China and did a pig for my Super Bowl party. Turned out great. Good luck. Dave

  • @xN1kolaix Its a little Tex. Should have got the Tex. Dont make the same mistake

  • Would you recommend a traeger for a first time "smoker" and did you have to turn the wings at all during cooking? The more I see about the Traeger's/ pellet grills the more I'm liking them, is there a better brand/ highest quality? I dislike buying things twice. Wish I was eating those wings, every time I view I get hungry.

  • Awsome vid - fun to watch! Just got a Traeger today and was watching while mine is seasoning. I'll have to watch your other vids as well, thanks!

  • thats some good looking meat greysquirrel

  • Dave,

Just got my Traeger last night. Put it together and seasoned it and did some chicken breast tonight. Preheated on high for 15 minutes, 5 minutes on each side, then turned down to smoke for 10 minutes. They were perfect!

  • Good on you man!

  • How long did this take total? Your video at the 1:03 mark says its 6:30, then at the 2:00 mark says it's 10 after 6. I just ordered a Traeger that should be here tomorrow!!

  • Takes about 1.5hrs total. The wings turn out perfect. My next video will be pizza from scratch. I even make the dough. Fantastic. The Traeger cooks pizza great. Thx for your interest. Dave

  • Dave,

Thanks for the reply! 1.5 sounds great. Glad to hear about the pizza as I want to do one as well!

  • hey I love to cook on the grill...usually my wing are to soft from slow cooking them...I did use flour wich firmed them up some.... any ideas i would like to hear them....thanks the wings looked delicious...

  • Thx for your comments. I think that cooking for 15-30min. at 450 makes a big difference. Then switch to 300 for an hour or so. Then put on your sauce at smoke or 225 until done. Give that a try.

    Dave
