I love the sound of a V8 as much as the next car lover, but the world needs to grow up. Gas Guzzlers are old toys we have become addicted to, and we need to stop playing with them for our own good. In Wheel electric Vehicles, with solar panels and compressed air motors running a generator would never need refueling and who here can say they LOVE paying to fill up their car every week or so. I sure as crap hate my fuel bill, and I barely drive anywhere except for work days. Seriously, Grow Up.

power stations makes at least 1/3 less carbon than all cars running on petrol

That's a lot of energy usage to exchange the World's 600 million petrol vehicles for EV's just for a 1/3 reduction in carbon. Then you're stuck with 60 million+ scrap EV batteries to dispose of every year.

Try "wake up Europe". Europe has to have 80mpg mini's because their govnmt's fuel and displacement tax their citizens to death. The energy problem is a short one. China grew so quickly that it threw energy consumption off balance, but there are plenty of reserves and alternatives, it will just take a little bit of time. Anyone who does some real research will realize that man made global warming is a farce propagated by inadequate, inconclusive research believed by naive masses.
