my favorite dish FISH! *gazuntite* Thank you *your welcome!* I CAN SOO SEE MYSELF GROWING UP TO BE LIKE DONNA. ONLY 13 SOOO I CAN DO DREAM!!! 10 LIKES AND ILL DO A REINACTMENT OF SOMETHING DONNA MURPHY!
She has recently joined my pantheon of Broadway actresses (the others so far being Julie Andrews, Bernadette Peters, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Angela Lansbury, Barbra Streisand, and Patti Lupone) who just send shivers down my spine every time they open their mouths.
2:36 it sounds a little like "West Side Story"... Leonard Bernstein wrote "Wonderful Town" a few years before WSS... both have 1950's swing/jazz influences
I don't like how she's creeps around. I don't mean like a "creeper." But she literally is stalking around like the Grinch! They do that in the movie too, where the conga scene is. I'm wondering, was it the fashion is the thirties to be bent over like a granny while dancing? (rhetorical question youtube,)
Jesus Christ, Donna can completely morph into any character she plays. Whenever I see her in a new character, I have to check to make sure it's really her. The character is annoying, yes, but Donna plays her wonderfully. It's difficult to play an annoying character and still be sincere.
@cinderpelt17 She's supposed to be annoying and twitchy? Wow, what a great choice that is. Let me run out and get tickets for that. Ruth Sherwood is supposed to be clueless and nervous. Not the same thing as annoying twitchy.
@tommytimp oh my god, that's so weird. i didn't realize you were a douchebag. the character is supposed to be weird. jesussss. she's supposed to be annoying. the odds are SO against you, you're like one of the 1% of people that don't love donna murphy.
@cinderpelt17 Please don't snivel. I just waxed the fucking floor. At no point in Wonderful town is Ruth Sherwood supposed to be anything but a Midwestern girl looking for success in Manhattan. She is never, ever described as "weird." You obviously have never done the show. And I love Donna Murphy. Loved her in Drood, loved her in Song of Singapore, loved her in Passion. In this one she's just too mannered in the wrong way. In short, you're wrong. Long answer, go fuck yourself.
@tommytimp she didn't do it. the director PROBABLY told her to do it a certain way, and she added to it. i am not sniveling. YOU are being a douchebag. and i have seen the show more times than you ever will.
@cinderpelt17 Well, you're right. I've only seen it once. In London. But I've done it twice. And this was a star vehicle. It wouldn't have been done without her. Whatever Donna wanted to do, she did. So, go fuck yourself. Again.
@tommytimp you know what's hilarious??? one of my most amazing friends did like three shows with donna murphy. and i'm only 15. so YOU need to go fuck yourself, especially since you're obviously older than me. you need to get a life. actually, she might have been in the show with donna murphy, but i don't remember. so just chill out. my.god.

Dancing:awesome. Donna:annoying. She comes off like a bug. Usually I love her so much; this is mannered and twitchy.
