My 11 Forte is wonderful. Test drive one for yourself, the car freaking rocks! I take "professional" car reviews lightly, I come to my own conclusions. Kia is coming on strong...and the new Forte is a great step in the right direction.
when you put your foot on the gas, you WILL hear the engine noise no matter how expensive the car is ... as longas you've got enough passing power, I actually enjoy a little bit of engine sound coming through the cabin ..... Kia has moved to 6 speed auto for 2011 ..... just a great car overall.
I have a 2010 Kia Forte EX. I love it. Have had it for almost a year now. No buzzing or noises from anything in the car when I drive. The engine has suprisingly good pickup. Low noise levels when I'm on the highway too. The only thing is I didn't upgrade to the leather seats. The cloth seats feel a little uncomfortable when you take it for long trips. Also just a tad bumpy at times but other than that nothing bad to say. I'm glad I bought this car.
Ignore this review I figure Honda or Toyota "sponsored" it. I have a 2010 Kia Forte SX. Its a wonderful car. Drives great. Its fast smooth and very quiet. I paid $17500.
i think this reviewer is idiot. cars are supposed to make some noise when you accelerate especially when you stepped on the gas pedal hard. i have a funny feeling this guy was paid by either honda or toyota. lol. i've owned toyota and honda. the FORTE i think overall is a great inexpensive small sedan with alot of standard features whch some competitors dont have. the 10 yr warranty is the BEST.

I test drove a Forte yesterday. It was sunny, but it wasn't too hot. It rained 3 hours before. When the salesman pulled out the car from the lot, he had to turn the AC all the way up because it was pretty hot inside. I sat in, it was still hot. I put my hands over the vent but it didn't feel cold. After the test drive, it wasn't hot anymore, but I didn't feel cold either. It is only May, I wonder what it will be like in August. Is the AC just really weak? How about heat?

Believe it or not, there are idiots out there that base their purchases off of reviews. They don't take into consideration that most of these guys are idiots and just do what they are told to get paid. I bought one less than a week ago. i guess for complete base models the civic is less money but top end models i would take the forte 30+ more hp plus its 3k cheaper, sexier also. waaaay sexier
Civic coupe DX starts at $15,500. It's got a 1.8L 140hp engine. It has hubcaps and manual side mirros. Forte EX coupe starts at $16,600. It has a 2.0L 156hp engine and includes all the Civic DX coupe has, plus alloys, dual chrome exhaust, and pwr. heated side mirrors. In my opinion, the Forte is a MUCH better looking coupe. Unlike Civic, it actually resembles something sporty. ;-)
You dam nitwit drive on with the 2.4L and the six speed manual then redo the test drive. Does the civic have 156 hp? How about a 173 hp optional engine for the same price as a Kia. Ya know what the Forte may beat a civic si in a drag race also. I bet you couldn't even drive a manual transmission car.
Ya its a 2.4l with 173hp and 169lbs/ft of torque. Also with the sx you can get a six speed manual, I got one For $18,300 and got it with the sunroof. This guy's an idiot, he was testing and lx which start at about 13.5k.
Not to mention, with the 2.0L, you can get a 5-speed auto as part of the fuel economy package. I don't know of any other compact car that offers 2 engine choices and 4 transmission choices. Seems like a very luxuriously packaged car, especially when you consider the price.
I own Civic 2007 model and it's very lousy as well, from 4000 rpm. Both are small engines and that' what it is with the current technology. However, I paid for my Civic Ex Coup well over $23,000 without leather, ESC and fog lamp. I don't think the guy in Video knows all of these. Gas milage of my Civic is 27 - 29 mpg, not that much good.
I test drove a Forte, and it was much better than how this guy makes it sound. Its much better than the Civic in my opinion. Plus there are Fortes with 5 speed autos; just get the econ package.

Id rather buy a used 2006 Honda Civic EX than new 2010 Kia Forte EX for 19,000. Same design but the Honda has much better road manners.

As another user said, there is an optional 5-speed automatic transmission option with the 2.0. I would like to see this gentleman review that.
