yeah this looks like a eucalyptus grandis plantation down in brazil. these trees are grown very quickly for pulpwood production--about 25 to 30 feet in one year, so those trees are probably 4 or 5 years old. and yes, this is the ultimate in terms of efficiency. the harvesters down there run 24/7 so these guys without a doubt know exactly what they're doing.
Like a mini lumber mill hanging on a backhoe boom. You have to have a lot of room, and flat ground, to use this thing. It looks like it was made for harvesting white pine planted in rows. What happens if there are big lower limbs, or the tree isn't straight?
That is an awesome processor head. Please let me know what kind of processor head that is because I have a machine that needs a processor head, so it can to get in the woods and handle some business.
Trees are a renewable resource. They can be farmed. This machine is attacking a young growth forest, so it's for farmed trees. So it's as evil as hemp or tofu.
That is just plain animalistic. I love the efficiency of the machine but its not doing a good thing. It reminds me of the delta force sharp-shooters coming 2 rescue a kidnapped ship captain and just putting 2 bullets into everyone's forehead

Well, I like this machine way more than I hate it. I dont know myself which side is pro tree and anti tree, but if you have any sense you will be anti tree because if trees become extinct so do we. Almost immediately, we give trees carbon dioxide(co2) and they give us oxygen. Its a fair exchange. If your locked in a room with no doors or windows but just oxygen youll eventually die because youll soon fill the room with co2. Put a tree in there youll live much longer because hell trade you.
Definitely pro tree. Can write with them all being alive,cant live with them being dead. Overkill on trees is a bad thing trust me. I dont feel like trees are people though where taking a tree is like taking a life. I feel that there should be a very good balance. So im not a treehugger but I do understand the dangers of deforestation
