This is Sahir with an aching desire as he knows that the one he loves is, in fact, not for him.Despite this bitter reality, he so sweetly employs his romantic and imaginative thoughts in the expression of his love.The metaphors he used in this poetry are so finely sensitive in feelings,so creative in thoughts.
The music composed by Khayyam was fine--Mukesh sang it beautifully-- and Amitab's acting was good too.

A bouquet of flowers to Sahir, Khayyam and Mukesh for this ever glittering gift that they gave to Indian music fans. If they had put in Rekha for Rakhi in the role shown here, the visual enactment might have been a bit more more affecting. Note I said affecting, meaning moving, not effective. The scenes are effective in an ordinary sense otherwise . ( Sorry, Rakhi fans !). Thanks, Suhanee.
