the memories flood back, i'll never forget the bravery of the people in the clonard area ill be ever proud of all those who give their lives there in and after 69 until now . r i p
Innocent Catholics were burned out of their homes by Protestant Loyalists and the RUC police force did nothing to protect the Catholic citizens. This is because Catholics then in the 6 counties of NI did not have equality with their Protestant counterparts and Catholics suffered from persecution and discrimination.

Bollocks. Catholics started the rioting on the Falls. They even tried taking parts of the Shankill. Cupar street and the Lower Shankill for instance. Percy Street another one. They got Cuapr street but not Percy street. And that's when loyalists burned Bombay.
I don't know the specific details about the Falls, Shankill etc and the exact chronology of events, so can't comment on your comment. As to how it contradicts my general view above is beyond me and I don't see how it's "bollocks".

Coming from the man who says the RUC did nothing to protect Catholics and they didn't have equality. Seems to me you see the world through green tinted glasses!
I enjoy reading comments like yours on YT. They give me a wee giggle.
The RUC were biased back then...but not so much in the 90's onwards.
You gave me a laugh too when you said 'my lot'.
It was an established fact that there wasn't equality in NI up to the 60's and 70's. Few would deny it, even prominent Unionists, who have conceded to me that there was total inequality, akin to South Africa.
There is no point going through like hating people but that's your choice obviously. Maybe you'll find again the 'forgiveness' part of your religion?

Maybe they couldn't do their job right during the early days of the troubles because they were under attack from 'your lot'? Yes, every working class man and woman faced some sort of discrimination. But to say it is somehow comparable to South Africa is laughable to the point of stupid!
But I'm talking about before the Troubles began...anyway...I'm not debating with you. Have a nice day now. Keep watching the colour TV though. Maybe you'll get it.
There was inequality. But "akin to South Africa?" West Belfast wasn't Soweto. Bloody Sunday wasn't Sharpeville. The situation in South Africa was much more severe

Well you'd best find out about the riots your lot started. After all, if they hadn't, then Bombay would not have burned.
