as far as i can see, the longest rope is bent in your hand, so the long ends of it look as two separate ropes, while the shortest rope is bent and its both ends are up. And yeah, it is quite obvious when you take "one rope" (middle lenght), and put it back in the left hand on 0:48 . Great trick by the way.
