  • Could you tell me the name of the sample? I searched for it but I couldn't find it

  • nice remix!!!! keep going!!! :D

  • great stuff

  • you are a sick individual! great stuff man! i have a question: what's the difference between the MPK25 and the MPC500? i know the mpc500 is stand-alone but does the MPK25 have the same functions?

  • No NO no.. it's ReggieREG on the mpc, fiiiiiiive hunid

  • hey are the buttons on the lower right of the cd player fine pitch adjustments?

  • Badman!

  • please teach me

  • @ap1027 I am no expert I just like doing what I do. With the 500, if you imagine it, it can be done. What are you trying to do?

  • @TheReggiereg1 Right now I do all my production and sequencing in Ableton and Reason. But you are making much better jams than I am. I really want to get my sampling and drum beats on the same level of as yours.

  • @ap1027 - I look at it as having fun. My beats are simple and plain. 1

  • i have a question, can you sample stuff from movies too?

  • @FeelRapp you can sample from any source. I made a video where I sampled from television shows and movie sound tracks

  • @TheReggiereg1 dope, now i will get me one. thanks bro

  • If that isn't swag, I don't now then... You really rock man... Just love it! Keep up!

  • @Bryaannx - thats whats up. Thanks!!!

  • em-pee-see 5 hunded

  • @WowEvanwoW - LOL!

  • firre

  • Stupid dumb super fresh and dope man. Fuck thats jammin!!!

  • Dude U a Beest! (yeah I know I spelled Beast wrong) That explanation is for those that want to pretend they don't know what a Beest is. well, yall just witnessed a Str8 Beest! keep it up.

  • @CarAudioJoe - That's what' up! Thanks Hommie

  • real nice ,im getting ready to buy one, i use to make my beats on a ASR X PRO,but got rif of it , how do you dump sounds in it like for sampling the dramatics or somthing

  • Hey I just got the mpc 500, and couldn't figure this out but how do you load all the samples you chopped up, how do you load those to the mpc? Please reply quick. Thanks

  • @IndicaGraff - Hook your 500 to the pc via usb and drag/drop your samples onto the 500's memory card and youre set to go. 1

  • I use a 500 but chop all my samples on the Mac and use MPC Maid software to setup the pads and then import them to the 500 through USB.

  • Nice work! Good samples too...

  • Thanks! Real helpful tips. I found a starter kit on Amazon for $499.00. It comes with the 500, a pair of headphones, and a MIDI cable..whatever that is. But yes if you could post a video of how to upload/chop the sample, that would be great. Ive been searching everywhere for helpful videos and just cant find any.

  • Really, so I hook up my phone via USB and just run a song to the 500? Is it hard to chop up a song after you have uploaded it? Sorry for all the questions, just dont want to spend $500 for nothing.

  • @sesone - no problem on the questions. I will be making a video shortly demonstrating that concept. I sold my 500 for 175.00 on ebay and have moved on to the IPAD to make beats. I would not pay more than 200.00 for a mpc 500. I NEVER EVER chop on the 500. I use propellerhead recycle to chop and hook up the 500 to the pc via usb and copy the chops onto the 500. If I was simply looping or adding effects, I would hook up my phone/itouch to the 500 1

  • @TheReggiereg1 I did the same thing!I had an MPC 500 and sold it on ebay after I got the Ipad.I sort of miss it and was thinking about getting another one to use with the Ipad and the Alesis IO Dock. But after thinking about it thast would probably be overkill.Do you use Beatmaker 2 on your Ipad?

  • @coolderb - I like your setup for the IPAD using the Alesis. I use beatmaker on the IPAD. To me, it is better than the mpc 500 and it only cost twenty dollars. Other apps that I use on the IPAD cost no more than five dollars. I will more than likely stay using the ipad to produce beats, videos, remixes, and so forth. 1

  • @TheReggiereg1 i would pick mpc over ipad anyday, i mean, leaving the rubber pads behind, is like not wearing your wedding ring... somethin's not right. tho heard goodstuff bout the ipad too, for me it aint working

  • @154buddah - I feel you 100% on that one. That is why I am waiting for the akai mpc fly this summer. I may have to purchase another 500 though. That thing is a beast. The new technology that the ipad brings is fresh as well. I hope to showcase more vids as time permits. 1

  • Do you run a turntable to your 500 to sample the track? Or can you do it through a computer? I really want a 500 to mess around with just to check it out but do not own a turntable

  • @sesone - no need for a turntable, I sometimes use my phone or apple itouch to sample into the 500 but for the most part i hook up the 500 to the pc and copy my samples to the 500

  • @TheReggiereg1 how much memory does it hold to sample?

  • @mrpower328 - you HAVE to purchase the 128 memory stick in order to do anything worthwhile in the MPC 500

  • @TheReggiereg1 Thanks. I had an MPC2000 but it got stolen a few years back and I was looking to get something new. I was deciding on this MPC500, Akai MPD32 or the NI Maschine. What would you suggest?

  • @TheReggiereg1 how muck is the 128 memory stick!!

  • The first beat you made and then combined with the song you saved on a button. how many buttons like that is there?

  • @DavidST1992 - I am not understanding your question. Break it down for me

  • @TheReggiereg1 well first you started your beat and then you started the "song" with a button to the right. was just woundering if there is more than 1 button which you can use to save and activate beats etc when you want them to start... sry if you dont understand lol^^

  • Nice beats man, you're an inspiration and that's partly because of your work that I bought that mpc 500! peace man

  • @doobiehip - Cool! thanks for the comment. I recently sold the 500 to prepare for the MPC Fly. However, the 500 is one of the most easiest machines you can learn on. good luck and have fun. Peace!!!

  • Buju Banton !!!! Fuck yeah

  • I Need one :(

  • what's the song's name of 6:39 - 7:23 and the 2:47?

did you complete and upload them?

    thank you, really good beats!

  • @oscarsanchez69 - The Ojay's - loving you, I cant remember the other song off hand. Its in one of my sample vids though. Peace!!!

  • @oscarsanchez69 The other song is Black Ivory – Can’t You See

  • hey reggie thanks for vid can you pan input samples left and right on 500 like you can on the 1000.

  • Very Nice job !!! :D

  • Very nice

  • how do the chops work on this cus i started messing with the mpd18 and well it frustrates me that my chops suck and can't get anything going, does it do it automatically or do you have to chop em up manually.

  • @TheBudaLord - I will NEVER chop on the 500. I use propellerhead recycle and no auto chop. Only sample edits and its a pain in the a##

  • @TheReggiereg1

    i bet man! thanks

  • did DOOM flip that second sample before? sounds familiar... either way man keep it up whether you consider it a hobby or an art you're keeping real hip-hop around

  • @charglo - Not really sure if he did not or not and thanks for the comment.

  • Yo bro do you need a mac for this??

  • @djtramaful - nah! no pc is necessary but it does help.

  • How much are these?

  • @PoooStash - used 200.00

  • @TheReggiereg1 Awesome thanks!

  • beast

  • ayyyyyyeyeeeeeeeee!!! Slap Niggaz! that's my shit

  • Consider yourself an artist :)

  • @InvalidCopyright - LOL! Just having fun

  • @3:40 its really in the groove, and then it sounds good! Reminds me of Unspoken Heard songs

Nice Buju remix as well. Beenie man not bad either.

You need to be musical to make good beats.. And specially if you want to preform with It, its all about how good you push buttons.. That needs talent. But when it comes to beat making its much more then that.. Am saying to the guy who said that its just pushing buttons.

    Peace

  • Nobody cares about what someone else does or doesn't like. I like MPC's & don't care who does or doesn't. I also like farting & picking my nose while driving. I think you get my point, lol...

  • really dope stuff dude

  • @drummerdo0od that's just what it looks like to you, you say that like the whole process is as easy as counting, sampling, creating an original beat, and importing the sample can be pretty tedious, not to mention finding samples themselves

  • @drummerdo0od - let me ask you a question, do you know what an Akai mpc is? its full of buttons right? How else am I suppose to create fresh hip hop music that I like to hear if I am not pushing buttons? Do you know another way of creating beats on the mpc 500? Please enlighten with your infinite wisdom.

  • @TheReggiereg1 Well, clearly there would only be one way to create beats on a drum machine. That's kind of the whole point of a drum machine. But I do know of this thing called a drum kit that takes way more talent to play than pushing buttons on a drum machine. They even make electronic drum kits so you can use the sounds that you want including the sounds on a drum machine. I'd check into that if I were you and wanted more respect as a musician.

  • @drummerdo0od

Ignorance is bliss. GO play a fucking guitar and shut up now.

  • @drummerdo0od you should watch araabmuzik on his MPC. I'm pretty sure you'll undertsand how people can say that afterwords

  • @drummerdo0od Just because it's "only pushing buttons" doesn't mean it doesn't require some type of skill with rhythm and timing.

  • @drummerdo0od its not easy

  • @drummerdo0od

I will never understand how people still dont understand it... technology my friend...

  • @drummerdo0od ohh are your feelings hurt because some guy is able to what you do and make it sound ten times better in one tenth of the the space. Or is the fact that he doesnt get all sweaty and gross when he plays?

  • @drummerdo0od CAN YOU UPLOAD A VIDEO TO SAY HOLY SHIIT? PLEASE. ;)

  • @drummerdo0od it's still technique. I think you're just to shallow to accept other forums of art.

What is the real difference between striking some thing with a stick or your finger? Its all just an extension of the creative process that comes from within the artist.

If you knew shit about programming- you'd realize some of the advanced sequences take a lot of talent.

  • @hellodrjoe773 Then why aren't these people as famous as drummers?

  • @drummerdo0od Do you mean famous as programmers? There are plenty of famous electronic artists that make beats- Even though electronic art is still relatively new compared to jazz/blues-Producers are already seeing the spotlight.

The # 1 track right now on Itunes is by a producer- David Guetta

Now I should mention I don't care for his music at all- but to not acknowledge the presence of producers/programmers as popular is ignorant.

  • @drummerdo0od i will never understand how people make a dumbass comment about someone without understanding of the procedures, effort, time and much more that person has gone though in making his OWN unique productions.

if you want to rant, do it in the face, whereas people can see how blank your thought processes are and how little you actually know. i have respect for all music as music is reflection of a persons imagination. but you are just disrespectful. you are a weak person.. fact...

  • @154buddah - word!!! I could not agree with you more.

  • Damn this is so fresh!

  • It's time for controllers.And Mac Books

  • Love Your drum patterns, Funky! thats hiphop!

  • i i downloaded a new drum kit for my mpc and it shows up under programs but it always says files cannot be found. i just want to assign the kits to different pads and i have my card how do i get them to play?

  • @Kratos990 hey man where did u buy ur mpc500? im not from america so i dont know where to get one.

  • You just made me buy one

I'm going to be as good as you one day

  • Nevermind...figured it all out sorry for the rediculous question. Hey does your mpc ever freeze on you for a few secs? Mine does and i was wondering if thats not a good thing

  • Hey man, i just got the mpc500. But when i flipped it over and opened the battery slot or wjatever, there was no ram card in it. I have the compact flash card, but not a ram card. Am i leggit?

  • your my dads bose umm dj needles is my dad

  • and kicks and snares ets you`ve downloaded fom what? o just buying? i`m sorry for to many question ) i`m just from the begining of creat om mpc=)

  • @MrSempler - chop old school breaks, or you can get kits from the net, make your own, limitless choices when it comes to drum kits.

  • how much does it cost?in usa mpc 500 and 1000?

  • @MrSempler - 200.00 dollars for the 500 and 300 in pawn shops for the 1000

  • @TheReggiereg1 I haven't seen a 500 used for less than $400 online.

  • @TheReggiereg1 - I just sold mine last week on ebay for 180.00 Time to move onto another toy

  • @TheReggiereg1 damn where i`ve been=)? i`d buy !!))))))))damn!)but it has some problems of shiping to my country((((

  • mpc 1000 can chop ?

  • @MrSempler - oh yeah!

  • HI nice work!

Can you Chop on MPC? is it hard or long? i just don`t want to use pc at all. thx

  • @MrSempler - on the 500, forget chopping, you will quickly lose interest on making beats. If you dont want to mess with the pc, do not get the mpc 500. Long and painful to chop. 1

  • i was wondering if you wanted to start messing around with the mpc500 and you have had no music experience is it worth the buy?

  • @CrookedCastles - yes! It is worth it. There is a small learning curve when using the mpc 500. what makes it so easy is that you can connect it to your pc, drag and drop your samples and drums sounds, and create music.

  • @TheReggiereg1 ohh wow, thats awesome. What do you think about the ni mashine mikro over the mpc500?

  • @CrookedCastles - That is a good maschine (get it?). However, you are tied to the computer. Me, I wanted to free myself from the computer is one of the reasons why I like the MPC. Find out what works for you and what you are comfortable with. 1

  • fucking dope shit man1!!! werd up

  • Super cool. Congrats its very nice to see how you use this machina. ;-)

  • what song did you sample for this man? fucking beautiful

  • RELEASE!!! :D

  • You dirty motha fucka! How long did it take you to get this good?

  • really good work on the mpc, i would love to make music with you!!!

  • hey dude, thats a great demonstration! Do you use the standard MPC 500 or the 128mb version? I'm about to buy one too, and its a 100 bucks more for a 128mb, so is it worth it?

  • @propagandos buy the expanded mem or you wil be very limited on the number of sounds you can load into memory. Also, look on ebay for the memory. cheaper than 100.

  • you're pretty fuckin good bro

  • @kacperkapral - I'm just doing my part bro. I appreciate it though. 1

  • like how u throw that reggae joint in lol

  • ill as always Reg

  • can you quantize the beats?

  • @MrRockermocker yes you can quantize. The 500 is like the Mercedes Coupe. Its small, but its still a Mercedes. LOL

  • @TheReggiereg1 holy shit man, i would listen to a whole album of you doing this. are you using the stock mpc drums or did you sample them from somewhere else?

  • @DimebagsLeftToe - cant remember but I sample my drums from somewhere else.

  • @DimebagsLeftToe - thanks for the comment too.

  • sick... I'm going to buy one right now.

  • Can you record sounds right on the mpc and upload it to your computer?

  • @KrabbyPattyGnar - if I am understanding your question correctly...you can make a beat and upload it to your computer. You can sample into the 500 in real time or put sounds onto the compact flash card. So many ways to get sounds from and to your pc/mpc 500

  • @TheReggiereg1 yeah for sure for sure that makes sense. thank you

  • @TheReggiereg1 as in $200 for an mpc?

  • @Kabbeats - Thanks~ These are selling for 200 stacks now. It is worth it. 1

  • sounds like a sample 9th wonder would use

  • does this allow you to upload sounds and keep sounds on a memory card?

  • AMAZING! Where do you think I could find pure vocal segments like you just used?

  • @polaroidsky acapella4u

  • @TheReggiereg1 Oh man, you have NO idea how long I had been looking for that, thanks a million. Oh, and do you have cd's of your stuff? I really dig that first mix!

  • @polaroidsky - it's all on the fly, I rarely save my beats. I make one, mess around, and keep moving. 1

  • @polaroidsky : BTW, can you find just instrumentals on acapella?

  • were can i get one of thoes for cheap?

  • @spaceman3804 - guitar center used gear is your best bet from what I have seen. 200 dollars

  • Hey Man what was all the Equipment you used im Coming up on the Beat making and i need to know what is the best equipment to use?

  • @SBoogiePurpMane - A fellow beatmaker and I was just talking about this the other day. I have come to the conclusion that it does not matter what beat making equipment you use because it is the end product that counts and what you are comfortable with. Back in the days I played with the mpc 60, roland tr-808, dmx, asrx and asrx pro, ensoniq eps and ensoniq asr 10, roland sp 606, roland mv 8000, and others. check out my other videos and you will see its all the same, just a different instrument.

  • loving the music and loving the attitude man.... may i ask ,what software do you use to sequence or drop samples onto your Mpc with ?

  • @RAINSKRIBBLE - I only use Propellerhead Recyle to chop samples and make my drum kits. Once I do that, I hook the mpc up via usb and transfer the sounds to the 2 gig compact flash card. Thanks for the comment. 1

  • portability doesnt matter that much to me, and how are the effects on the 500? does the 1000 have more? and also does any one know if you can plug a condencer mic in to either of them thats what im really looking at.

  • @dplocus123 - I believe the akai website have a side by side comparison chart.

  • Im trying to decide between an mpc 500 or a 1000 can anyone tell me the big or technical differences between the 2. Beside the look and number of pads and all the obvious stuff

  • @dplocus123 for me, it was all about simplicity and portability. ive owned a 1000 at one time. i do this as a hobby so i wanted something with a low learning curve. never buy anything because everybody else has one. go to the music shop and try various pieces of equipment...

  • I got my mpc 500 today and this is just the inspiration i was looking for. Thanks man :)

  • @iden132 - Congrats! I absolutely love my 500. I like it for what it cannot do. It inspires me to be better. Too much stuff kills my inspiration.

  • sofuckindope

  • That I miss you sample omg you almost brought tears to my eyes AMAZING !

  • @ThureSA1985 - i'm confused!!!

  • @TheReggiereg1 How long can you record on this machine???

  • @cc17201 i am not sure because i never sample into it. way toooo much work on the 500 for me. i put my samples and drums on the two gig compact flash card and that is plenty.

  • @TheReggiereg1 so you can load an sd card into it and load as much as you want on it? if so any sd card of any size or just 2 gig?

  • @cc17201 - max is 2gb, that is more than enough for samples, drum kits, pellas, and other sounds.

  • @TheReggiereg1 man I love ur drums ur great help for someone who wants to really get serious about this. I got myself a Mpc 2000xl I was just wondering what timing do you play your hi hats at? Hi hats are hard for me to sequence. Thanks

  • Man this is so smooth great beat

  • @monster89089 - thanks for the comment. well, the way i learned how to make beats is by spinning records for many years, listening to other beat makers, and just by having a love for music. to be honest, i do not consider myself an exclusive beatmaker. I do like to remix. if you notice, i never go into great detail about how to make beats but i make a beat, add an acapella on top, and see what happens. start off simple with a boom bap beat and maybe a simple loop. let me know!!!!

  • You are the man !!!!! SO GOOOD !!!!

  • Were Can I Get Your Remixes Like The Buju One ????

  • @DjTwin305 - I always do this stuff on the fly and for fun. I never save my remixes. I just move on to the next project. Peace!!
