@haveri2oo7 kenny chou aka. c.c. catch. there's a ton of mod music he made on 'amiga music preservation' site. you'll need a mod player, winamp plays these fine.
This game managed to combined the unflexibility of pre-rendered 3D with the ugliness of realtime 3D, and its gameplay wasn't really amazing. Yet I kept launching it.. to listen to this theme.
@kurtcobain279489 Just download DOSBox. Same thing as running an NES emulator, except for old PC games. Suddenly everything runs just the way it was meant to again.
I loved this game, specially because of its simplicity. Only two buttons (kick and punch), and you're ready to go. Combos weren't hard as shit to pull off (unlike modern fight games), and the music was simply orgasmic.
This not your average game music, neither this your average game. This is art.
Fuck me sideways a friend of mine had this on his cellphone as voicemail. And I kept ringing him just to keep listening to this song. That was about 12 years ago, when I got my first PC. Couldn't stop playing the Shareware version with Raven in the end!
Jaguar-lasers, Jaguar-leap, overhead throw, spinning jump in the air, legsweeping OH MY GOD HAVE TO PLAY AGAIN!
Ah, my childhood just flashed before my eyes. Such an awesome and severely underrated gem of a game. If only this game got even half as popular as Street Fighter.
Only a company that has the balls to call itself EPIC MEGAgames can make something like this.
I actually replaced this song with one of the boss fights from "jazz jackrabbit;" It was a way better song... I looked up this video, only to realize in retrospect...
I remember getting the shareware version of this game on a 3.5" floppy disk back in 1996 (the shareware concept wasn't very popular in the UK), and I got the full version on my 18th birthday :) I still play it. I love OMF: 2097.
This song really belongs to held in the same light as Zelda or Mario music. As soon as you hear this you just know it is OMF 2097. It is a superb song, and my favourite across every genre of music.
@lekoro1 My brother just yesterday bought MGS off playstation store, the graphics were diff, as we are now used to playing all ps3 games, but It made us realise why we loved this stuff back in the day - graphics ARE neccessary, but they SHOULD'NT overide gameplay and story.

This song was used so many times during the game, but it didn't matter. I could hear this anytime, it'd make anything instantly more interesting
It even managed to fit the little Sportscenter-esque blips when you won or lost (which I thought was a really cool feature). Right now, I'm thinking of this song as I do a report on the results of an experiment
"The capacitor tried to give the AC source a run for its money, but it came up a few thousand credits short" ^^ I'm such a nerd.
OMF is a good starter game to appreciating the golden retro-games of the PC
no I never got mmcd, have no clue how my brothers got half the games we had. Some we bought with cds and others were downloads I think
Kings Quest series is a great RPG game along with the adventures of Roger Wilco.
Phantosmagloria was a really messed up RPG I could never play through it to certain points it was too creepy, because the characters were actual people acting and it looked so real. That's a good scary series
would play Jazz Jackrabbit, OMF, Jill of the jungle, Zool 2, Commander Keen, Bio menace, Duke Nukem, and the old classic Warcraft along with Sierra games such as Roger Wilco space adventure and Kings Quest
Omf Jazz Jackrabbit and Commander Keen were my absolute favorites next to the space-craft game Velocity
Same. Born in '85 so I made it just in time for the excellent PC games to emerge. Blake Stone, Jazz, Keen, Doom, Duke, OMF. By Velocity, did you mean Terminal Velocity? If so, that game was much better than Decent!
We used to get our games off the BBS system before most even knew about them. IIRC, though, I found OMF on a demo CD (cd's were new at the time...haha 1x) in a grocery store.
@LadyBarricade dont forget gods, myst ,lemmings, the seirra games(...quest series), doom, duke nukem, strike and wing commander, epic pinball, major stryker, hocuspocus,LOOM,xwing tiefighter, dark forces. need i go on
@nibelung34343 and Commander Keen, Terminal velocity, Bio-menace, Jazz Jackrabbit, and good ol Wacky Wheels and Warcraft, and Roger Wilco, oh and Jill of the jungle, Tigerhawk, Stargunner, Motor-racer, Zool 2.
@secroit Haha Yup this track was awesome, I'd just let it sit at the screen sometimes listening to the tune. This and Tyrian's music jukebox player... I forgot how I'd access it but it had those pixelated visualizations while you listened to the in game music. Epic!
Oh, how I miss Alexander Brandon, the music composer of Epic Megagames. (composer for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Tyrian 2000) OMF's music was made by someone else, but it could have been Brandon as well :P.
Oh how I miss the great days when the pixels in a game were actually distinguishable from each other :P
No really, I miss games like Tyrian, which were simple to play, but had various modes that neared commiting suicide. Plus, the music and cheats were both original AND ahead of their times.
this aint the exact original version from the game. this is the .mod version. the song is slightly different to the ingame version. this tune is my message ringtone :)
Actually, the in-game version would be varied from player to player due to different sound cards in different players' machines interpreting the instructions with different outputs (IE differences between GUS and SB16, like the difference in Contra tune between the N16 chips and the SNES chips).
And in that sense, the MOD version is about as close to the original track (Kevin wrote his music on ScreamTracker 3, I have the S3M originals somewhere, I d/l from either ModArchive or some other site) as you're going to get. So this is pretty much the original.
made by rob elam epic just did a bit of fine tuneing and marketing (at least thats the impression i found in an intereiw that he had before battle gorunds came out)
my fav game of all time, when we were little, we'd sit in one chair and vs eachother in this only had one comp haha back when me n; mey bro was younger.
I remember coming home every day from school and playing this game. I could only play with 3 characters though since I only had the shareware version. LOL. I miss DOS games....good times.

I've loved this song since the first time I played this game.
I put Waaaaay too much time into this one but still love it to this day. Upgrades, finishers, destructions, hidden characters, what's not to love?

this aint the exact original version from the game. this is the .mod version. the song is slightly different to the ingame version. this tune is my message ringtone :)

Why did I say Kevin? Stupid (me)...I meant Kenny. Man disappeared off the Internet, sadly. He had a site, prophecy X, but it's no longer functional.

I remember coming home every day from school and playing this game. I could only play with 3 characters though since I only had the shareware version. LOL. I miss DOS games....good times.
