  • Check out my Metal theme that I made of this awesome song!

  • I hope to see this before I reach my 60s. (I'm about to hit 35 in a week). I want to see a massive underground of robotic arenas.. and I want to be the part of it.............

  • Favorite game of my childhood!

  • Hyvä peli

  • Epic music is epic

  • I will play this in the year of 2097! Keep this here forever and I'll remember it! Contact me at 2097 if I manage to forgot. This is a promise

  • LOVED THE 90's TECHNO SOUNDTRACK!!!

I remember countless nights playing this back in the mid-90's. But I've lost the disc so I really need to find a place where I can download it again.

  • This is 80's dance club music!

  • This was unusually epic music. Loved the game, still have it on my diskette XD

  • One of the best main themes for ANY videogame. KENNY CHOW RULES.

  • AAAaaaaaaw YYYEAAAHHHH!!!

  • I love how they are making a movie called Real Steal. Once I watch it im going to think of this

  • @PvtSkittles619 The DVDrip is downloadable as of today... made me think of this game : )

  • i played this when i was a kid! :(

  • this song is awsome i like !

  • I've started a omf 2097 tournament series on my channel :D even though it's an old game it's super fun!

  • We must tell our children about this so they may be disappointed when 2097 actually hits

  • I loved this game! Still play it on my relic Win 98 machine :D

  • i like this melody! great!!!!

    who the composer?

  • @haveri2oo7 kenny chou aka. c.c. catch. there's a ton of mod music he made on 'amiga music preservation' site. you'll need a mod player, winamp plays these fine.

  • I finally can play it again! Got to love DosBox!

  • sounds a lot like animotion obsession, is different but has the same feel to it

  • After long thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that this theme is the reason why I like electronic music today.

  • I remember watching in my cousin's basement while he played this. I was 7 or 8 at the time. About 17 years later I still play it occasionally.

  • oh my god..... such great memories

  • @sylvaing1240 so true, and lotus ^^

  • epic!

  • one must FALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!! arggggghhhhghghghghgh!!!!!

  • why are people disliking this video? I don't get it

  • @Beastmonkey Coz they have no idea what this game's all about. Can't really blame them.

  • This game managed to combined the unflexibility of pre-rendered 3D with the ugliness of realtime 3D, and its gameplay wasn't really amazing. Yet I kept launching it.. to listen to this theme.

  • You see, this is why I wouldn't be allowed to time travel, because I'd be busy playing these games that refuse to run on Vista now.

  • @kurtcobain279489 Just download DOSBox. Same thing as running an NES emulator, except for old PC games. Suddenly everything runs just the way it was meant to again.

  • I loved this game, specially because of its simplicity. Only two buttons (kick and punch), and you're ready to go. Combos weren't hard as shit to pull off (unlike modern fight games), and the music was simply orgasmic.

This not your average game music, neither this your average game. This is art.

  • Fuck me sideways a friend of mine had this on his cellphone as voicemail. And I kept ringing him just to keep listening to this song. That was about 12 years ago, when I got my first PC. Couldn't stop playing the Shareware version with Raven in the end!

Jaguar-lasers, Jaguar-leap, overhead throw, spinning jump in the air, legsweeping OH MY GOD HAVE TO PLAY AGAIN!

  • Ah, my childhood just flashed before my eyes. Such an awesome and severely underrated gem of a game. If only this game got even half as popular as Street Fighter.

Only a company that has the balls to call itself EPIC MEGAgames can make something like this.

  • fuck this was a good game.

  • Ibrahim was my mentor.

  • One of the classic Coolest Music pc game!

  • 6 people have fallen.

  • @castorz 7 D:

  • @frostix91 I know people can't appreciate a good pun.

  • name anything from the year 2004 and beyond that has such good music like this game theme,

any artist, game, movie. just name it.

    80's synthesizers win above all.

  • @bolawarrior Tron Legacy Soundtack :P

  • @bolawarrior what was there in 2004? :)

  • @alex871uk

i meant, is there anything after a random 21th century year that overdoes this theme?

  • @bolawarrior Probably not. This is like Dead or alive 'You spin me' meets Van halen 'Jump'

  • @jakutti Yeah that's shame, i love these old cans:) made me feel small boy with big eyes glued up on the screen :))

  • one day, this piece from my past invaded my subconcious, and i still havent gotten it out. not saying thats a bad thing either...

  • Epic Megagames always made great synth, I don't know why it never caught on. I can listen to this stuff for hours without noticing it.

Oh wait, I already have. XP

  • This song is sugar!

  • I actually replaced this song with one of the boss fights from "jazz jackrabbit;" It was a way better song... I looked up this video, only to realize in retrospect...

  • @trollingtheweb bro, its good times, nothing special to you, but a whole worlds worth of memories to others.

thanks for making me realise how good I had it as a kid, dispite what little I had.

  • Loved everything of this game. Too bad for the very bad sequel.

    Brb, installing dosbox.

  • I miss this game so much. When will OMF return to us once again.

  • @PeopleFirstofNevada

since 1999 it has been freeware download from (search google for this) dosgamesarchive

and you can check up on it being freeware now on wikipedia and anyother place you can think of

dont know about battle grounds though

  • Great game my very first fighting game. Played the demo, but... it wasn`t enough. I imported the whole thing from america.

  • I remember getting the shareware version of this game on a 3.5" floppy disk back in 1996 (the shareware concept wasn't very popular in the UK), and I got the full version on my 18th birthday :) I still play it. I love OMF: 2097.

  • yeah go robot fighting!

  • This song really belongs to held in the same light as Zelda or Mario music. As soon as you hear this you just know it is OMF 2097. It is a superb song, and my favourite across every genre of music.

  • Brilliant! They don't make 'em like they used to. Where are the old days...

  • Brilliant! They don't make 'em like they used to. Where are the old days...

  • @martinkroesen

now game makers go for graphics hell and nothing but graphics

they dont even seem to think about game play and replay ability

this game: old fun you can play it as much as you like and it only gets boring if you actualy do spend far too long on it

  • @lekoro1 My brother just yesterday bought MGS off playstation store, the graphics were diff, as we are now used to playing all ps3 games, but It made us realise why we loved this stuff back in the day - graphics ARE neccessary, but they SHOULD'NT overide gameplay and story.

    true what you've said.

  • There's versions you can play without any kind of emulators...

-> The best game (theme) ever <3 <-

  • the funny thing is popular music is basically regressing back to this stuff anyway.

by 2015 this will probably be the only song playing at every club.

but I knew the Jaguar before he was cool!

  • awesome game. good old days. i think im gonna try to find it again and have a cheeky play when my gf is around lol! women dont understand!

  • Ahhhhhh...this is epic

  • @Earlo45 epic megagames :p

  • I've noticed a few superficial similarities between the notes and flow in this with Guile's theme in Street Fighter.

  • hmm fave plan of attack?

in nova: SPAM GROUND SHAKY FIST! (or nade or rocket or what ever)

chronos: spam back kick and do some nice combos in the air

jag:BACK SPIN, FLIP IT JUST KILL THE ENEMY!

    (yes i am crazy)

  • 6 people had terrible childhoods

  • @LadyBarricade

More like they're deafer than posts. This was and remains an awesome theme to a videogame.

  • "sniff" I miss my katana, jaguar, shredder and chronos. Friends and I played this so much we got suspended installing it at school, fighting during IT classes. We of course were playing this during our brief exclusion too :D

  • @AssholeBeinAnAsshole LOL nice one

  • awesome

  • I almost forgot this game!

  • im glad im not the only one that loved this

  • Was this made by the same guy that made the Jazz Jackrabbit tunes if so what's his name?

  • @ofir7786 The people who wrote the music for Jazz Rabbit was Robert Allen and Joshua Jensen (and while we're at it, the person who did the tracks for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was Alexander Brandon). The person who did the One Must Fall 2097 tracks was Kenny Chou, a.k.a. C. C. Catch, who incidentally was also the person who did the music for Zone 66.

  • @AOTD3025 dude you deffianetly know your shit

  • @allroundmma1

the person who did the music for omf2097 was kenny chou read the readmes and stuff in the omf folder if you have it installedon your computer

  • you are an asswhipe if you thumbs this down..

  • @nzbf01

I count 6 asswipes. This is tru EPIC.

  • @Ishlacorrin oh come on, they just had double vision...

  • FAWESOME!!!

  • best theme ever !!!

  • The music is a 4 channel MOD!

IIRC some of the songs in OMF2097 were 6 channel Scream Tracker 3 mods but most were just 4 channel Amiga mods.

  • Haha, this game was dope as shit. My cousin showed it to me when I was a kid and I got hooked. This and N64 were the only video games I played until I was like thirteen.

  • How 'bout classic Epic games eh? Man, how I loved this game.

  • I listen to this song more than I play the game.

  • monkey island and this theme are the best game themes ever!

  • OMG, this brings back memories. I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid.

  • I just booted it up in dosbox... it sounds even better in game.

  • It's 2010 and I still love listening to this on repeat.

  • It don't work when i downloaded DOSBox and then the game it went was to fast for me even to play the game... I will just have to get a old dos computure up and running thanks everyone for your help...

  • @RedRoseAngel666

no, there's a setting in OMF to change the game speed. At the main menu, select "Gameplay" and decrease the speed. It's cranked all the way up, after all.

Don't quit! If you need more help, send me a message, we'll get it to work, I promise.

  • @jwaffe kk i will try that tu and add me as a friend please

  • @RedRoseAngel666

    I did

  • This song was used so many times during the game, but it didn't matter. I could hear this anytime, it'd make anything instantly more interesting

It even managed to fit the little Sportscenter-esque blips when you won or lost (which I thought was a really cool feature). Right now, I'm thinking of this song as I do a report on the results of an experiment

"The capacitor tried to give the AC source a run for its money, but it came up a few thousand credits short" ^^ I'm such a nerd.

  • watch?v=pdVnKYcYi3g

    +

    watch?v=gOShl4Tcw_E

    +

    watch?v=Ixf_NfKjXkA

    All in synch play simultaneously

    = Penultimate sound

  • The intro of this song is simply epic.

  • @GabrielKai "Epic"...clever:) I hope you thought about that one instead of actually just finding it epic:)

  • @PijnigeR Good point.. what about EPIC? :)

  • @GabrielKai I don't know. It's abn EPIC game, right:)

  • I like the shareware version theme better.

  • i think i've just discovered why i love techno/dance music, this game was awesome and i loved it as a kid, and it had an awesome sound track

  • Oh hell yeah ;) i remeber playing this game over and over again... sweeeet time... Really bring back the good old time...*Sniff*

  • best game ever :D ,good old times ,first game what i was play :D,and it was super :D

  • good times

  • OMF is a good starter game to appreciating the golden retro-games of the PC

no I never got mmcd, have no clue how my brothers got half the games we had. Some we bought with cds and others were downloads I think

Kings Quest series is a great RPG game along with the adventures of Roger Wilco.

Phantosmagloria was a really messed up RPG I could never play through it to certain points it was too creepy, because the characters were actual people acting and it looked so real. That's a good scary series

  • grew up playing this game. the theme song alone is just so nostalgic

  • Best game ever made period

everything else is crap compared to OMF

  • You mam, know your computer games.

    +1 interwebs for you!

  • why thank you! ^_^

I grew up on a lot of the old DOS game classics

would play Jazz Jackrabbit, OMF, Jill of the jungle, Zool 2, Commander Keen, Bio menace, Duke Nukem, and the old classic Warcraft along with Sierra games such as Roger Wilco space adventure and Kings Quest

Omf Jazz Jackrabbit and Commander Keen were my absolute favorites next to the space-craft game Velocity

  • Same. Born in '85 so I made it just in time for the excellent PC games to emerge. Blake Stone, Jazz, Keen, Doom, Duke, OMF. By Velocity, did you mean Terminal Velocity? If so, that game was much better than Decent!

We used to get our games off the BBS system before most even knew about them. IIRC, though, I found OMF on a demo CD (cd's were new at the time...haha 1x) in a grocery store.

  • I was born in 90 so I learned how to play games at 5 thanks to my brothers XD Mech Warriors was the first game I ever played.

Terminal Velocity that's what it was!

    Haven't played that in forever

the music is why I love half these games

You got OMF at a grocery store?! Man that's awesome

  • u got mmcd? its got 99 demos of games includeing almost all of those ones :D

(im 15 so pre dos era but i love retro gameing im totaly hooked on omf atm :D)

  • @lekoro1 You mean you're POST dos era. :D

  • @Slovflyer

    yh what he said <.<

lol i grew up on windows 3.1x i was told last year that i shouldnt know about it its that old O_O

  • @LadyBarricade dont forget gods, myst ,lemmings, the seirra games(...quest series), doom, duke nukem, strike and wing commander, epic pinball, major stryker, hocuspocus,LOOM,xwing tiefighter, dark forces. need i go on

  • @nibelung34343 and Commander Keen, Terminal velocity, Bio-menace, Jazz Jackrabbit, and good ol Wacky Wheels and Warcraft, and Roger Wilco, oh and Jill of the jungle, Tigerhawk, Stargunner, Motor-racer, Zool 2.

  • @LadyBarricade ever played xargon? that was fun. tyrian, rise of the triad.

  • @eishiba10 yeah and Might and Magic, Billy the kid, scubaman's quest, Abuse. I can't seem to find a Might and Magic2 that works.

  • the first time i started the game i was just listening to the music. epic!

  • @secroit Haha Yup this track was awesome, I'd just let it sit at the screen sometimes listening to the tune. This and Tyrian's music jukebox player... I forgot how I'd access it but it had those pixelated visualizations while you listened to the in game music. Epic!

  • Oh how I miss Adlib music. :)

  • It´s not AdLib, it is tracked song in .MOD format, which uses 8/16 bit recorded digital samples stored inside the file.

    Nevertheless, AdLib music rules

    (Dune II for example)

  • It was some more advanced tracker format than .mod, actually. But a tracker format nonetheless.

  • Oh, how I miss Alexander Brandon, the music composer of Epic Megagames. (composer for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Tyrian 2000) OMF's music was made by someone else, but it could have been Brandon as well :P.

Oh how I miss the great days when the pixels in a game were actually distinguishable from each other :P

No really, I miss games like Tyrian, which were simple to play, but had various modes that neared commiting suicide. Plus, the music and cheats were both original AND ahead of their times.

  • dont you know who make this song?.... ill tell because thats the reasson why this rock.... his author is Bryan May

  • I don't know who you're talking about, but OMF 2097 soundtrack was made by Kenny Chou a.k.a. CC Catch.

  • Man I grew up playing this game!! I miss playing it! It sucks that you can only play it on DOS!!

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Google up Dosbox. That makes it playable in windows and linux (maybe even mac, i dunno)

  • use dosbox emulator

  • You can play it in high resolution and perfect sound on any windows by using dosbox :)

  • @RedRoseAngel666 you can download DOS simulating program like DOSbox and play it even on mac

  • @RedRoseAngel666

Dosbox .72 plays it very well. The full version of OMF is free now, give it a shot! It works great!

  • @RedRoseAngel666 download a program called "DOS Box", it's a DOS emulator for Windows.

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Use DOSBox. That's what I do. I got my Jag to full upgrades and my pilot to full stats within a few hours in tourney mode. :D

  • @RedRoseAngel666 You can play this using dosbox, dos is always just a couple of clicks away with that application :)

  • @RedRoseAngel666 go go get dosbox, it emulates dos so you can play this awsome game again!

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Try "DOSBox" !!!

  • @RedRoseAngel666 download "Dosbox" and download the game. That´s it :D

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Yeah, its doesnt work on win 7

  • @Earlo45 istall a dosbox and play it!

  • @RedRoseAngel666

I think you could probably download a DOS emulator to play this

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Just download Dosbox (google it) and you'll be able to play it

  • @RedRoseAngel666 i did too its amazing. you can get an emulator for it tho

  • @RedRoseAngel666 Hey, there is a free program called DosBox that emulates DOS on windows. Check it out.

  • @RedRoseAngel666 i have vista and play it on a dosbox with no problem.

  • @RedRoseAngel666 why dont u get DOSBOX?

  • This game was great!

  • A new remix of this awesome theme available in my profile!

  • It's been ages since I last heard this tune...

Damn, now I feel really old... *sniff*

  • Awesome

  • m'encantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa joder AMO esta canción! jajajaja

  • I've loved this song since the first time I played this game.

I put Waaaaay too much time into this one but still love it to this day. Upgrades, finishers, destructions, hidden characters, what's not to love?

  • I love this song, I used to just boot it up and sit at this menu and have a listen

  • I too love this song! I have mp3!

  • this aint the exact original version from the game. this is the .mod version. the song is slightly different to the ingame version. this tune is my message ringtone :)

  • Actually, the in-game version would be varied from player to player due to different sound cards in different players' machines interpreting the instructions with different outputs (IE differences between GUS and SB16, like the difference in Contra tune between the N16 chips and the SNES chips).

  • And in that sense, the MOD version is about as close to the original track (Kevin wrote his music on ScreamTracker 3, I have the S3M originals somewhere, I d/l from either ModArchive or some other site) as you're going to get. So this is pretty much the original.

  • Why did I say Kevin? Stupid (me)...I meant Kenny. Man disappeared off the Internet, sadly. He had a site, prophecy X, but it's no longer functional.

  • jaguar, flail god tier

  • only oen tier list exists for this game afaik, by robyrt

shadow apparently sucks :( probably better with the ice enhancement

  • @Barcode711

shadows pretty cool but only if you know how to do all its moves

  • @jcage

chronos = god its round house is a force to be reckoned with

  • I miss those games...DOS was the best in games!

  • what a theme tune

  • I have the full version of the game somewhere...

  • it's freeware

  • Made by epic megagames the same company thats kicking today, they make ureal tournys and etc.

thanks for all for posting your replys, lovely time im having reminissn reading through your comments

  • @KMcombine

    nope

made by rob elam epic just did a bit of fine tuneing and marketing (at least thats the impression i found in an intereiw that he had before battle gorunds came out)

  • NOVA UP IN THIS MOTHERFUCKER !!!!!

my fav game of all time, when we were little, we'd sit in one chair and vs eachother in this only had one comp haha back when me n; mey bro was younger.

  • omg good old OMF....... the theme is SO aweseome.......i played this game so much.....and loved it.......for a beat'em up it was really innovative

  • I remember coming home every day from school and playing this game. I could only play with 3 characters though since I only had the shareware version. LOL. I miss DOS games....good times.
