On the first boss (Jet Mobile), die. When you fight him a 2nd time, instead of EggRobo, it'll be Robotnik.

i believe robotnik in flying battery boss with knux is not glitch. sonic n knux storylines take place at same time, robo botnik gets destroyed in first part , eggman is only one left. sonic has spun into sandpolis n is already in pyramid by that time. sonic n knux story line is set so sometimes sonic is ahead n when knux takes short cuts knux is ahead.

@AdmiralBobbery123 how was it tedious, u can either attack his head so he backs up into sand, or u can jump over him n lead him to the sand, pretty boring. a boss version of sandworms, or scorpions would be interesting, or maybe if the rock had an attack. mushroom hill boss was good, flying battery was good, sanopolis act1 boss was pooh, lava reef hand was ok. knux boss was ok. yeh im rambling. peace

@Mathmaster144 Probably a cloud in the background that had its sprite garbled because the boss sprites are loaded and you aren't supposed to see the clouds while you're fighting the boss.

If i remember rightly the flying battery zone was supposed to be in sonic 3 originally but they kept it for sonic and knuckles, the zone was supposed to be between carnival night zone and ice cap zone as sonic would blast on board from the cannon at the end of carnival and when he finished flying battery he would use the door he bashed of at the end for a snow board.

I've heard they put flying battery on S&K to even the zone count to 6 each plus knuckles teleports directly to ice cap.

this game (technicaly speaking that this was originaly supposed to be just 1 full game) will always be the 2nd best sonic game to date, only being beaten by sonic cd. sonic 4 had no chance (with that being one of the worst in my opinion)

Technically the 2nd part of Knuckles final boss in this game is

Semi Super Mecha Sonic, because it has to constantly use the master emerald to charge up, rather than absorbing the power of the 7 chaos emeralds!

I think the reason It's Robotnik instead of Eggrobo is because the flying battery boss uses different sprites to the normal poses. They probs just programmed all the sprites to switch on their own, and these being different, didn't get switched.

i thin i have a possile reason hy is robotnik face againts knux in flying battery zone. Watch closely in that boss fight robotnik is in 180 degree with your monitor so i think they havent got enough time to make egg robo in this form.

Answer: In Sonic and Knuckles (Or Sonic 3 and Knuckles in this case,) when you start a game with knuckles, it'll show him relaxing somewhere on the island, then a bomb comes down and blows up. That robot appears, and Knuckles chases it. The reason being is that Knux is the island's guardian, and he'll stop at nothing to get rid of that robot.

like I said, its harder with Knuckles to beat the bosses, it seems the the act 1 bosses are somehow harder, sinse you need a stratgy to beat them, and therefor can't attacke them blaindly

It was most likely because of the sprite of him looking up and they couldnt do it with the bot. Also common sense wise you could say the reason is is because he is under the ground and Knuckles cant see him, and when he comes up he is too busy fighting him

Yes and No sometimes on the first Sonic and Knuckles level (Mushroom Hill) When you Play as Knux (Knuckles) *I just call him Knux* If you die on the Boss of that level (The Egg mobile boss not the Robo-lumberjack) when you restart the boss battle the boss sprite will switch from Eggrobo to Robotnick on occasion.

I know some bosses weren't altered... but I noticed that they were made more difficult due to Knuckles' shorter jump... such as sandopolis 2 and lava reef 1

Actually you can fight Mecha Sonic with Sonic you just have to enter the level select code and/or debug. Once you beat him, then you end up with a blue Knuckles riding on Sonic's plane rather than normal red Knuckles.
