  • Lovely bicycle,in Britain ,Raleigh both bikes and Sir Walter is pronounced rally.

  • @clarencecmcgee I ship these out c.o.d. So e- mail me your name and address and number of tools ordered. One tool will last for all your bikes

  • i just got a 1950 one i have no idea what one it is but its army green front and rear lights, and i picked it up for 30 bucks, it has the old key hole in the froks in the front i gues thats how they locked it up back then, its mint, hasnt been ridden in almost 52 years, its 60 years old now so its awesome id say its an awesome find.

  • I have a raleigh sprite 27 with a 5 speed, the video of it is on my youtube page, would you mind giving me an idea of what year it is, Im guessing it is a 1970's model.

  • Great video about a great classic!

  • I have a 1971 Sports and added the 22 tooth rear sprocket to,..a much improved ride, i highly recomend it !!

  • hi i just got a Raleigh Sport bike it looks like th eone you have but its black and has a double kickstand for both sides im not trying to rewire the lights and bulbs but the small whell thing that you can switch on to rub on the side of the whell then when it spins in creates power for the rear and frony lights to power on its a 3-speed thumb shifter and everything original! the inertubes are flat but i maneged to fix them, please message me because i want to ask some questions about it, thanx!

  • I have three Raleigh Sports 3 speed bicycles and one three speed Scan.

I ride them all in rotation. All of the Raleighs rear hubs are in good order, but I

wonder where I'd get a hub rebuilt. Nothing lasts forever. The Scan is my junker

    winter bike.

I wear regular clothes when I ride, and sometimes use a pants clip.

  • the american way of saying raleigh always makes me laugh, it sounds like raweliegh or something like that to me

  • when I was a kid....here in the USA.....owning a genuine English Raleigh was something to be proud of. At that time American bicycles had big thick tires and looked "stupid". I got a red Raleigh "colt" for my 8th birthday in 1962. It was such a big deal to get a Raleigh that I still remember my dad taking me up the highway to a bike shop called "Cycle Center" in Natick, Massachusetts. I virtually lived on that bike till I was 17 years old.

  • nice

  • 3-speed internal hubs are the Bomb

they almost never break Lasts forever and just needs an occasional oiling unlike the messy derailleur system prone to all kinds of failures-adjustment-chain jumping-dirt-etc.

  • Cruisers are incognito. Just the posture of the ride and soaking in the scenes. I have a 70's CCM and the crank is 1 piece which is a good thing. I've had a few original 60's Schwinns that rode nice. Fixem uppers found for under 50 dollars never loved, just neglected sold at garage and yard sales. A bit of elbow grease and know how you got a good ride.

  • The days of when bikes were for transport, not competition... and when it was just a bike, not a multi thousand dollar steed that only lasts 3 or so years due to the aluminium frames.

  • Nice restro!, as far as your comment regarding the locakable forks most locksmiths can fasion a key for $75-$125 should your key be misplaced, Dan

  • that's niiiiiiice. I just found my third thrown out three speed. quite like this one, but more beat up and it's got rod brakes. a charming bike and a great vid!

  • I just got one that hasn't been ridden in 35 years and is in great condition. Glad to find this video! Everything original - even the tubes and tires!

  • Way to go!
