People have always migrated. Look at Macedonia, now its mostly populated by people of slavic decent. People have always migrated. Look at Macedonia, now its mostly populated by people of slavic decent. This is because the Byzantium empire and its predecesors where under alot of pressure by northeren and eastern tribes including the Huns, Goths, Scythians and so on. la maggior parte degli italiani credo possa essere ancora la discendenza degli originari popili italici( etruschi, piceni, latini, falisci, osci, umbri poi anche siculi, sardi, corsi e messapi). Not the Romans though, they were never a Latin people since Latin is the term that Romans used for their closest neighbours. So spaniards, portuguese and all others strictly speaking are not Latin in the ancient sense. In a modern sense, only South Americans are Latins, however.

The resemblance that most impressed me was the Cicero´s bust with the Giovanni Trappatoni, they really look alike. The resemblance that does not match at all, was Sophia Loren with the female bust (Livia?). And poor blonde boy ( a football player, a calcciatore, right?) that was matching Caligula, ha! I hope that the young man nevers know.

Rome was huge! And many people lived there and mixed with eachother. It is impossible to say what skin-color they had. Some days ago i was speaking with an italian and he got mad when i said romans was brown with black hair like hollywood shows them. He told me they looked like Totti. Rome was like US today..in 2000 yrs if someone ask; was Americans white? Good luck to answer them that question! My opinion and by looking at statues and history is that they looked like italians today.

@Da40cal I agree that Romans looked more or less like italians today. And this is a fact. We just need to look at the frescos (in Pomepi for example) or reading what writers were saying (Seneca, one the greatest philosopher of the classic era for example).
romans were not nordic looking nor african looking! they were mixed and looked how a southern european looks today

Many people think that i am an albanian but i am 100% Norwegian. 25-30% of norway have blonde hair and blue eyes.
