@louevilj That Odysseus was on Calypso's island isn't history. That the ancient Greeks thought it credible that Odysseus was on Calypso's island, is history.
@louevilj It's not history, per se, though it may be legendary (i.e., the story of Trojan war may have grown from some seeds of historical truth). The Odyssey, where the story is told, is a classic piece of ancient literature, and it's commonly studied in ancient history courses for lots of good reasons. As a lot of students end up having to read and study this ancient epic, it makes perfect sense as a topic for one of these rather brilliant parodies.
This one is definitely one of my favorites. The tone of the song seems to reflect the actual story, and of course it's The Beatles. You guys are amazing.
if so, its quite good...kind of surreal, to imagine ancient greeks from primordial history thinking as the Beatles did...but it fits the melancholy that i've always found to be in this song... :(
Very good. If, as well as history, you are a fan of Flight of the Conchords, check out videos by historicalconchords, including Hitlerpotamus vs. Weimarnoceros, Inner Kingdom Prussia, Hitler's Hurt Feelings, Foux du French Revolution and more to come soon. All made by three Year 11 students.
Awesome, as usual. In 3:42, an entire Greek Myth, with clarity, condensed! And Mr H's stunning visual effects, cunningly taken from the movie, worked in. I remember reading the stories as a youth. Ah, the memories that return! Great lyrics. I'd again compliment Mrs B on her vocal ability, but if I did that, pride might fill her... And we know what that did to Odysseus! Best we keep her humble and perfect!
A great introduction to the classic. Well done - and lovingly! Hugely enjoyable and will take many into the timeless mysteries and enchantment of this great work.
My teacher showed me these videos i liek this one and the remakin of the bad romance one ur really great at his lol it is like abetter way for students learn :) and not make the subject borin she showed us this because we are doing the Odyssey

@louevilj no, of course not. It's an epic poem with a potentially historical basis...but we study the great lit pieces in History- don't you?

BTW, did you notice the similarities between the Homeric heroes and Samson from the book of Judges?
