  • I like GNR, Metallica, Skid Row, etc etc...but Soundgarden KILLS!!

  • Chills through my body at 2:58

  • Damn man!

  • I love GNR always, but this was fuckin amazing.

  • Wow.....Axl and Slash must have been backstage going "How long before we are opening up for them?"

Soundgarden at the peak of their powers here.......the G N R crowd doesn't know what is hitting them.

  • Bitchin performance.......at the peak of their powers here.

  • when I was younger, I worshiped GNR so much... and I had no idea about Soundgarden, but time has passed, I have achieved knowledge and Soundgarden kicks GNR's ass. Gnr should be the opening band for Soundgarden lol!

And Cornell is so effing hot!!!!

  • @Speedqueen7 same here mate, I used to listen to GNR all the time before, now I never listen to them, I listen to Soundgarden constantly : D

  • @bmiha that's dumb to just listen to one band and nothing else

  • Fuck those auto-tune pussies. This is real rock n' roll, baby....

  • This is one of their best songs for sure. Last time I saw them was July 22, 1992 - next stop, July 30, 2011! Fuck yeah!

  • Summer 2011. Be there.

  • Best rock band ever! Go Chris!!!! You ARE the VOICE of ROCK!!!!

  • Matt Cameron is a fucking beast on the kit!

  • @Diatonic5th I wonder if Matt Sorum watched Cameron from the wings and cried at his own inadequacy. And then shat himself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Diatonic5th

The only one good enough to make an album with Geddy Lee!!!

  • CHORUS* :)

  • excellent

  • this version is so much better than the album version

  • Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Nervana sounded the death knell for leather-hair-metal-bands, and replaced them with man-rock.

  • Soundgarden and Pearl Jam single-handedly put an end to leather-hair-bands, and replaced it with man-rock.

  • @Drandon : No, thrash metal did it. Grunge put an end to thrash metal.

  • @mickeltheheadbanger

    Fair enough.

  • no where to go from here, this is IT,don't agree? Doesn't change a thang baby!

  • What a voice , insane ,Chris is the God of vocal performance

  • this is why I love soundgarden 2:59

  • Ben Sheppard is awesome on stage! 3:02

  • Drums play themselves when Matt Cameron is in the room

  • This is crazy. I have been watching this video at least once or twice a week for over a year now. This in my opinion when they were at their absolute best. Perfect band, perfect song, perfect sound engineering, perfect tuning, everything is perfect. Even the camera work is perfect. My planets have aligned, even though I was only one years old when Soundgarden did this.

  • OMG he's frigging HAUNTING in this... literally bringin a tear or three to my eyes knowing we may get to hear this live again...

  • 0:19- 0:21........matt camerons pause while he adds another bass note instead of traditional snare, or snare/crash hit.

thats why he's the fucking best

  • @nikesb2406 Right on man. It's like he plays backwards!

  • 2:04 Matt Just Rapes the damn drumset

  • The beast is coming out in the stage!!

  • CORNELL STOMP

  • 1:39

  • ben fucking shepard

  • @JustGooch he doesn't get enough credit, i'm glad you said that

  • kim thayil looks so badass at 1:01

  • Behold the epic Chris Cornell stomp.

  • matt cameron is amazing

  • Soundgarden is soooooo sick!!! ugh, it hurts

  • Possibly, my all time favortie youtube vid

  • Is that dw on the bass drum because matt is doing work? He's like some sort of wizard. He's much better with soundgarden than with pearl jam.

  • you just don't see artists these days put that much effort into a performance the way Chris does in this song.

  • Amazing song! What's up with the small crowd size?!?

  • soundgarden is god, satan, buddha, my mom fucking, my sisters sucking cock, awwwww shit they're EVERYTHING!!! THEY'RE ROCK N' ROLL LISTEN TO THAT VOICE!!!!

  • again, in America, this pit would be a slaughter !

  • I love Guns n' Roses, and all, but Chris's voice pisses all over Axl's!

  • SOUNDGARDEN

  • Matts drums are on point

  • nice fuckin open song.....now thats a concert

  • Soundgarden is a law, Badmotorfinger album so powerful!

  • ben shepherd wearing a void shirt. hardcore kids FTW

  • I don't know, but I can't get my head around how powerful this song is live. I really love the slowed down album version, definitely one of my favorites but live this song fucking kills everything

  • @SoilentGr33n

You're so right!! Seeing this tour, this song, live literally made me quit everything I was doing in 92 and take up drums

  • @SoilentGr33n

You're so right!!! I feel like an old man saying this, but nothing has moved me like this since 92

  • Lucky french bastards, I had to deal with Metallica for this tour, I am soooooooooo waiting for this SG reunion I can't fkn believe it is really going to happen! Somebody pinch me, so I know it's not a dream!

  • I swear I've watched this easily 100 times this past month. I had to convert it to my iPod and everything. Everything is so perfectly in tune, especially Matt's drum, damn. Soundgarden for life baby!

  • how do u convert to ipod?

  • Soundgarden back? Kick Ass!!! "Searching with My Good Eye Closed" is always a bitchin' song to open a concert up. It would be cool if they opened up with it on the new tour. I'm there!!!

  • fuck yeah. it doesn't get better than soundgarden

  • I like how they never ever cut to Kim Thayil while he's doing the good parts of a solo in these live videos.

  • Yes

  • what a HUUUUGE sound! Amazing. The reunion is going to kick so much ass. I have no doubts ... as long as Chris gets back on rhythm guitar too,.

  • are they playing back together?.really?

  • YEAH BABY SOUNDGARDEN IS BACK!!!

  • opening for Gnr are they here, poor sobs had to follow that HA!

    and btw

  • good old memories everytime i watch this vid ...guns n roses-1992-european-tour with soundgarden and faith no more ...03rd june 1992, hannover, niedersachsenstadion>> my first stadium-gig as i was 17 years old ...thanx god that i was born in the 70s! ...cheers

  • Badasses

  • hetfeild just cant compete

  • This should have 37 stars...badass

  • think of talent wise man the only thing metallica might have on soundgarden is guitar and thats not by much everyone else in soundgarden shits on the rest of metallica vocs bass and drums for sure

  • putain de dementiel !

  • yeah but only 2 of the albums they put out were actually worth listening to, they dont compare to soundgarden man in any way... soundgardens way more complex with music metallicas kinda boring after hearing their songs on the radio 24/7

  • Metallica's music isn't complex ha ha , you try playing Orion or One and then get back to me , if you heard more than the radio, maybe you'd know that

  • Poetry.

  • Matt Cameron..... Holy shit.....

  • Matt Cameron @ 2.55

  • fuck metallica soundgarden owns

  • yep. Soundgarden were consistently great, whereas Metallica went to shit after the self-titled.

  • @NoRulesInNam

Soundgarden put out like four albums whereas Metallica has nine. If we judged Metallica after 4 or 5 albums they would be even godlier than they already are.

  • yeah but only 2 of the albums they put out were actually worth listening to, they dont compare to soundgarden man i'm sorry

  • Can James Hetfield sing like CHris Cornell...not even in your dreams man

  • @funlivelife

No he can't. But for his abilities, he does a fine job.

I think Chris Cornell is great and has a terrific voice, but he has a lot of live performances that are duds, for whatever reason.

  • If Load and re-Load had been released by anyone else they would have been hailed as 2 of the best heavy rock albums of the 90s , how can you hate songs like Bleeding Me or the kick in the head that was Waste My Hate .

Soundgarden though were an amazing band in their own right and i hope the re-union rumours are true

  • @salmon020 fuck axl rose and his pathetic band. metallica and soundgarden own (soundgarden more)

  • @salmon020 Couldnt put it better meself.

  • @salmon020 Metallica's 80s material is great but Soundgarden beats them in every facet pretty much. Seeing them in a few days, will be good.

  • they were underrated because of metallica

  • holy fuck me. im so glad i saw this.

  • Nobody could touch these guys--Probably the most underrated band of the 90's (and 80's because they formed then)

  • My God, what punch!

  • GUNS AND ROSES HAS GOT NOTHING ON SOUNDGARDEN!!!

I hate "GNR" they were so gay...

  • @Minacious Anyone who uses the expression 'gay' for something they don't like is pretty much part of the mainstream and simply about as cool as a jalfrezi curry in the middle of the desert

  • on 0:23 u can so see the use your illusions II album cover.

wish i was there experiencing 2 of my favorite bands (besides audioslave)!

    unforgettable soundgarden!!!

    amazing!!!

  • I soooooo miss Soundgarden...

  • This is the best performance of this song live in my opinion. I love it way more than the recorded version.

  • Matt Cameron is a beast

  • best band ever!!!

  • 5 amazing stars for u mate

  • Axel killed g n r just as much as he made it. but this is an SG video so fuck gnr right now cause SG fucking rules:) and Cameron is so fucking in tune with himself on a set it's just amazing.

  • this kinda fucking rocks

  • So sad with cornell, really had talent..

  • How low can you play your dam bass!! Shiiiiiitttt!!

  • If you look back, people say "Bob Dylan" is the greates lyricist of all time, he sure is one. But would Boby take the test and compete with a line "Stop you're trying to bruise my mind, I can do it on my own. Stop you're trying to kill my time, it's been my death since I was born. I don't remember half the time, if I'm hiding or I'm lost, but I'm on my way". Whops, Boby someone has beat you.

  • This concert was a great show I still have this on vhs.

  • um... this is sick

  • you can call want you want, hamburguer, fries, turd, etc... the fact is that grunge was mentioned and labeled the bands like Nirvana or Soundgarden and many others as a subgenre of rock with that caracteristics. if you dont like it, its your problem. many terms appeared also like a joke or suddenly and it helped define the bands and separate them. You dont make the rules, the population and time make. so stop being a smart ass by assuming your shit like the truth. I dont care what you call it.

  • You have a point there but the bands themselves hate the term, I hate the term and think it's useless and misleading to kids that will want to look into this classic music later.

Also, how can you accuse me of "assuming my shit is the truth" when I see you blurt out "Guns n posers suck ass" one comment above?

Guns n' Roses were like the furthest possible opposite of a bunch of posers, you fuckin' grunge-acknowledging poser.

  • Well, Axl was a poser, he just happened to be in a good band, and the other guys kind of acted like d-bags off stage, slash's whole top-hat thing is kind of dumb. They have 2 good albums, lies and appetite, but other than that they aren't the great band people say they are.

  • Who gives a fuck if they acted like douchebags off the stage?? The Who were a bunch of assholes on their own account. What do you know?

I think you should listen to Miley Cirrus if you care so much about off stage behaviour. Maybe rock just isn't for you.

Guns N' Roses changed the face of Rock forever and you talk down on them...then what do YOU listen to? Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Creed, Hoobastank, Linkin Park.

You have no room to emit an opinion on Guns n' Roses.

  • I agree with you Soilent, on pretty much everything... Tons of people hate GnR, mainly because of Axl, but they were the real deal.

  • Also, Axl Rose wasn't a poser, he was an asshole that's very different. Rock N' Roll has seen it's faire share of assholes, and they happen to write good music sometimes. Being assholes is what made GNR and many others waltz in and fucking trample the hair metal faggots and sunset strip bands that were plaguing the scene at the time.

Again, I can see how you listen to shit like Nickelback if you think Axl was a poser...

  • i don't like axl simply because i dislike his voice

  • actually they were. I think people have a bad case of nostalgia but still, GnR was one of those bands that happens only after rock goes through a period of complete shit...example the hair bands; GnR came in as like an old school Aerosmith thing and nihilistic, dark lyrics amongst all that fuckin bubblegum metal out at the time. Same thing with the 'grunge' groups. Thank God hair metal is not making a comeback. Who gives a fuck about offstage stuff...musicians are not meant to be role models.

  • Spaghetti Incident was good too (it had Soundgarden cover, that's why)

  • the Grunge tag was an accident, A fan magazine was interviewing I believe it was an employee of sub pop records, and the interviewer asked what how he would describe the new seattle sound, the guy being interviewed made up a word "Grunge" as a joke having fun with the magazine reporter, 2 days later it was in all the media, Grunge was born, and it was a joke, thats why the bands themselves hate the term.

  • Finally, someone knows what the fuck they are talking about. Glad to see there are a couple of them still alive...

I laugh so hard when people go "Well grunge is like huh...distorted guitars....angry lyrics....huh....Seattle."

The media has such a huge impact that if they sent out a report that red is in fact blue, people would agree with it.

  • thanks soilent. : ) I was in a stoner rock band back in the day, thats what us so called Grunge bands called ourselves back then, and for those of us still alive, thats still what we call it.

  • Totally agreed, Soundgarden had some of the best pounding stoner riffs and they still kill today.

  • for sure, louder than love and Badmotorfinger two of the best albums out of that scene, its a shame about that Chris Cornel solo album with Timberland, its and Embarrasment in an otherwise great career. just a sell out piece of garbage.

  • Word, louder than love is mental. Loud Love is still like in my top 10 songs ever, I just can't get enough of that one

  • Gun is awesome, can hear the melvin's influence. there are some good live vids of that one.

  • : ) he he, i know eh, Nirvana and most of the stoner rock bands were big fans of G&R, they had a real punk edge which was a key element to the seattle sound, G&R woke the the music industry that corporate rock was dead and allowed bands like Nirvana to get signed.

  • Absolutely, when hair metal started going down because of bands like GNR, it opened the door to the bursting Seattle heavyness.

Everytime I drop by this video to comment, I thank you for making me bang my head to the opening riff everytime lol

  • I just saw S.T.P. at casino rama last Friday, in my opinion the last great stoner rock band, amazing show,Pearl jam are still around, but after the second album, Vedder benched Gossards riffs for his own amature shit. and AIC isnt the same without layne.

  • GNR aint shit compared to soundgarden

  • hey hey hey...calm down there buddy their both good! i wouldt put one higher than the other, although i think soundgarden did release much more great sounding songs than GNR

  • kim god

  • Matt cameron FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2:55

  • pure rock'n roll. soulfull

  • Cornell is pretty much the most badassed singer ever.

  • you said it dude !!!

  • haha

the grunge was better than the rock in all the facts in the 90' GNR was a shit in the 90 because the people found's a better music
