  • Anyway, the rhythms are mind-numbingly simple and terrible. These people do not know anything about rhythm and it shows. Learn how to play those crappy drums at least a little bit before you try to bang on it like a retard to impress the other talentless hippies..

  • @glorplaxy You hate yourself, but you are still loved.

  • Everyone loves a drum cirlce. Everyone. .....unless your not human.

  • Doesn't work for me unless you have, "In the tiki tiki tiki tiki room. In the tiki tiki tiki tiki room. All de birds sing words and de flowers bloom. In the tiki tiki tiki tiki room."

  • i love drum circles, they are so lovely and great to do with others. when we all get the rhythm, i can't stop smiling.

  • @svnthdysthsbbth : Perhaps not, but it is the spirit of the earth. It is the earth's beat, a primal one, and there is nothing wrong with that. There are times that I find nothing more pure and relaxing than the beats of a drum circle.

  • @svnthdysthsbbth The only spirit you spread is one of ignorance and intolerance. But you will probably never realize that.

  • @svnthdysthsbbth you have GOT to be kidding me...

  • Who ever you are, if you ever take part in one of these, u would love it! You just get sucked in the moment, it awesome

  • If I were to choose a sound to symbolize humanity, this would be it

  • This seems pretty monotonous and boring. That guy in the middle can't mix it up even a little?

  • @jjyurkovich Exactly. Drum circles are for people who are rhytmically-retarded, trying to feel "primal" or "tribal" or something. They use their mass-produced, shitty drums from Guitar Center more as toys and fashion statements than actual instruments.

Anyone who is a bit more serious about percussion and has a decent amount of rhythm quickly realizes how rhythmically-retarded these drum circles really are and how the people who participate in them really, really suck at drumming.

  • @glorplaxy Okay, you obviously have not heard a good drum circle!! And whats with all the anger? calm down, take a deep breath... everythings going to be okay. I hope one day you won't be so unhappy, and insecure. Sending much love your way!!

  • Please send me the mp3. I think I could add this to my night time playlist.

  • ~ ♡ ~

  • better than all that soulless crap on the radio!

  • Why is it dirty sucky types that go for this?

Is it cuz " itsss ssso ssserious."?

White corporates by day, freebird @ night! LOL

  • Why is it dirty sucky types that go for this?

  • Didgeridoo is missing. Go more tribal and uneven the rythms!!!!

  • Just discovered a drum circle and didn't realize this even existed. It's nice to see young & old, black, white, whatever, play together in harmony. We are now looking to get some drums and participate, since this circle is VERY open to anyone who wants to join. Great fun!!

  • I'm lookingfor a drumcircle close to Deerfield Beach or Boca Raton. Any suggestions? thanx

  • i could watch this video over and over.. it reminds me of my own drum circle experience and how amazing and interconnected you feel. much love!

  • Jump into the middle of the drum circle and play a Slayer CD

  • This reminds me of our drum circle but much chiller, but we had one thing in common: marijuana.

  • I so want to have one where I live, I participated a few times in different places and it is soooo awesome!! Thanks for sharing this!! Love, Love, Love!!

  • I have two percussion songs, one of which has vocals.

    come listen

  • bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap bap...

  • *sigh* i miss my djembe, i used to drum all the time in college

  • Check this out and over 300 others "Fire Spinning and Drumming 3 17 2011 025"

  • chilling in a sick drum circle, smoking up.

  • im a percussionist myself, congas n bongos. Ive nevr had th pleazure of being in a drum circle like this but i promise that if th oppurtunity ever krossed my path i wud gladle beat my drumz til my handz bled. MUZIK IZ LOVE. az natural az a beating heart.

  • it seems under all good vidz there will invariably exist a long list of hateful derogatory, completely meaningless comments. love the vid. watch the vid. if you dont like it, watch a different vid. ...

  • I attended my first drum circle a few weeks ago. I have to say, I can't get enough. There is something about the rhythm, the dancing, and the singing that puts you at ease. I had an awful day today. My car broke down, I lost a few dollars(fell out of my pocket while I was jumping my car), and due to the repairs I won't have money for christmas presents. I went to the circle tonight, and although my problems still exist they aren't bothering me as much as before. Don't knock it until you try it.

  • I love it, nothing better than a fire, friends and your drum. :)

  • This is niceeeee... !!

  • Drum circles are pure energy of the hills and forest, humans imitating nature, which is where all music derives, music was here before we were, only uptight World of Warcraft freaks bash drum circles.

  • @vaspers Can we not love the music the earth creates and play world of warcraft? the beauty of humans imitating nature is all good and whatnot, but WoW isn't a cause of that blindness from the masses of people....I for one both participate in drum circles and play quite a bit of WoW...does that mean i am cut off from the life energy of the earth that allows us to tap into deep moments like the ones experienced by these people in the video? Show some love and let the haters hate man...just sayin

  • drum circles are for gay ass hippie fags

  • Perfectly beautiful!

  • heres some music.........planet drum...........its different when your thaer.

  • I'm agredd it's definitily a language e what LAnguage whit no barreir at all

  • I want to say, despite all the nasty comments and criticisms, THANK YOU for posting this. It is all very true to me personally. Being a part of a drum circle or fire circle makes me feel one and connected with the earth. It gives me a sense of community and belonging. It helps me show my true self, lose myself, and find myself. It is a great way to release unwanted feelings, and to express feelings of joy and empowerment. Thank you for this.

  • Whenever you criticize hippie bullshit, such as this, hippies always respond with "Oh, well you've never tried it, so stop criticizing something you don't understand. You're so ignorant." I have never tried yoga. I have never tried a drum circle. I know exactly what they are, and I can imagine how people might enjoy them. The thing is, it isn't the experience that I'm criticizing, it's the principle and idea of it. It is new age bullshit. There is no denying this.

  • @BanjoEclipse And how do you spend your time? Playing World of Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto, Sims? Tell us how you make music. Or are you artisitically challenged and resent creative types? Do you wreck the environment and step on ants and get wasted drunk every Friday night with other losers? LOL

  • @vaspers You know what, dipshit? I play in a bluegrass band. And I live in Berkeley, California, where I have seen more than enough to understand what this is. It is New Age bullcrap. People are into this shit because they have an idealized, romanticized concept of it, just like you. It's "pure energy of the hills and forest," as you said, or "people connecting through an ancient, universal ritual," or even, if you're a total hippie, "reaching cosmic consciousness."

  • @vaspers Also, how the fuck can you say that music derives from "imitating nature?"

Last time I checked, trees and fields don't make rhythmic drumming sounds. You could maybe say that some flutes were made to imitate birds, but that's just the sound, not music. And the belief that "music was here before we were" is total New Age bullshit. Music clearly came from humans, whether we evolved, as I believe, or were designed by a creator, as others believe. You don't know what you're talking about.

  • @BanjoEclipse I guess a beating heart isn't natural.

  • @BanjoEclipse If you don't like it then don't watch it. Why are you wasting your time being so hateful? Go be miserable somewhere else.

  • Whether it is yoga, drum circles, or holistic medicine, it is always white people in a western country taking things from the superstitions and religions of the east, or of indigenous peoples, then calling themselves spiritual. These people are poseurs.

  • Do drum circles tend to have more experienced drummers leading and changing rhythms, with others filling in improvisationaly? Or is it usually completely improv? I've served a few times as a follower/heartbeat drummer alongside a master level percussionist for belly dancers, but I've never really been part of a casual drum jam. She had specific rhythms that she would lay down. Newbs like me would pick up on it, then she would riff and solo, or switch to other instruments.

  • rhythm is a penis, it accomplishes many lengths and is fueled by blood

  • bassman sounds like he's in a lot of pain. Or in a state of ultra ignorance where he thinks he knows everything.

  • perhaps one who is afraid of music is afraid of much

  • hey was this actually a drum circle

    or just those 4-5 drummers.

    it sounds awesome!

  • Drum circles make me feel like vomiting up my intestines.

  • I love love LOVE drum circles!! I have been part of a large drum circle for a little over a year and I am just in love with all of the people! It has truly changed me as a person... for the better!

  • @Xanubi I know the feeling! And the people who go to drum circles and fire circles are all so warm and open-hearted. It is such a wonderful thing to be a part of. I've grown up with drum circles and fire circles, and it has indeed shaped me into the person I want to be.

  • @bassman69504 That shows how little you appreciate and attentively listen to music. Break out of your social-constructed shell.

  • Thanks for the video, glad to know there are a lot of other people out there that really appreciate the drum circle for what it is not who's playing the drum.

  • I would rather kill myself than play in a drum circle. I bet it smells like ass there lol.

  • people should replace drum circle with drugs

  • i wanna play in a drum circle too

    and get high

  • For all of you who are bashing this....you wouldn't be, if you had ever participated in a drum circle!

  • @seawind0721 Cannot agree more!!! Drum circles are amazing

  • I attended one at a "BARTER FAIR" in Tonasket, WA. in 1992 although not as a "participant", just an observer. THIS - GOES - ON - ALL - NIGHT - LONG!

  • Although it may seem silly-- and I can totally see how a drum circle would be lame, I just did a drum circle for the first time in my life today and it was an awesome experience. Music is fun, rhythm is natural, and it's a great group activity. The most interesting part was that the more you thought about the technicality of drumming, the harder it was to drum-- you all just sort of had to feel it out. Great stress relief.

  • All of you bashing on it have never actually played in one, though this vid is a little intense, it is a lot of fun rather than a "healing experience." For many it may be, just not myself.

  • @poztpwned well, fun is healing. It's like that saying, "Laughter's the greatest medicine."

  • Maybe if some of you could act with a little civility and without bashing experiences that you clearly don't understand, you could find appreciation.

  • This is just... no...

  • That was very good. Thanks!

  • good blles the drummers

  • can someone explain why all drum circles are made up of the most-rhythmically challenged people (white people , that is)?

  • As a non-rhythmically-challenged white guy, I'd be more offended if it wasn't true that people that form drum circles tend to have little to no sense of rhythm.

  • They were in rhythm perfectly but it isn't as much about that as it is the frenzy that comes with it. Sit back, close your eyes and imagine your hearts desire. TRUST me it causes frenzy. It's a good feeling.

  • sorry, but no. i closed my eyes and i did not feel the "frenzy"

but maybe i just havent done enough drugs yet

  • the individuals rhythm can be whatever... order still emerges out of the collective chaos.

  • that is literally the lamest shit i've ever heard

  • @theZodiacDigital And no doubt, you are spiritually crippled and narcissistic. Self absorbed people like you have no room in their minds for things that help others, "when you don't get it" how pathetic you are little man!

  • so because i don't like your drum circle i must be "crippled", "narcissistic", "self absorbed", and "pathetic"? yikes! and i thought hippies were supposed to be tolerant...

  • @sloopguy I can't believe you just called a guy "Spiritually Crippled!"

That is probably the most revolting, self-righteous, hippie bullshit I have ever heard. So YOU are so spiritual because you like drum circles and zodiac isn't because he/she doesn't? Zodiac could be the dalai fucking lama for all you know. You are probably some liberal, western white person who says they are "spiritual but not religious" or some shit like that.

  • look up abakua. they are far more rhythmically challenged so don't give me that shit what you said bout honkeys.

  • Lol one love shutup cracker!

  • This is just so damn deep! Fucktards.

  • this is great. granted i can't express anything beyond a simple 3 beat rhythm, but i can still appreciate well played drums. keep the energy going.

  • this is beautiful...keep the peace and love flowing through us all with these wonderful beats.....im sure this was a magical night for all who were involved

  • on 5/1/09 there was this family that started a drum circle on shakedown street at the end of a Dead show. It was so powerful that 4 huge cop suv's pulled up and tried to clear people out. one cop kept his siren on, and we started to change the beat to it. and the cop's didnt like this, so they changed the speed, but in an instant we chaged back to it, we were fighting the cops with our rythum. and we won, because they went away after they turned the speed all the way up and we kept up with them!

  • Thats awesome!

  • @bassman69504 you have a lot to learn with no means of learning

  • @bassman69504 Lol, do you know people are laughing at your intolerance?

  • Just checked out naid, and he is really a great artist, thanks for the referal... This is a sweet video btw!!! but yah Naid is pretty awesome too!!

  • This is really cool!! An Artist I really like that reminds me so much of this is NAID, his stuff has a unique type of beat like this.. he mixes Indian chants and vocals with nordic electronic beats..it is really cool just like this... you can check it out at kosmic music . com
