And the funny thing is that they pretty much not even exist on the original Dune series... westwood plot-makers did an excellent job

Okay. Edric O is the best Mentat but what is he? Cyborg? Robot?

@DarthRushy There are only rumors about it. The game suggest he is an artificial intelligence created by the House of Ix (4th Ordos briefing). But all he says that is a technology. So there is no good way of telling what exactly is he. My bet would be a cyborg, although entirely artificial (meaning combination of a machine and artificial biological components).

@TheRealIntri Yeah, well. The Speaker does look a bit like Edric 0 and he does have mechanical components, but well, yeah. I do have to ask a few other questions.

1.Why did all Mentats suddenly change? Did the leaders want to replace them cos they know too much?

2.What's up with the rip-off names(Noree-Hwi Noree, Moneo-Moneo Atreides, Hayt-Hayt Idaho, De Vries-Piter De Vries, Edric-Edric the Navigator)? Also, if you listen carefully, the Atreides Duke is actually called Leto in that game...

@DarthRushy ...and he's white(not racist)! How come the Executrix stopped being a mysterious human(in Dune 2000) into five weird creatures connected through the Speaker(in Emperor)? And it's kinda ironical that the Ordos are the only ones who are non-canon, while with the Emperor game, they have the canonical ending(Elara uses Gom Jabbar on Frederick)

@DarthRushy Emperor storyline is mostly made-up.I don't actually care much about canon, it's just for coolness factor.The real problem is, there will never be games good such as this...

@DarthRushy I dont have the answers for those. I dont like the changing of mentats, but I guess it would be sorta dull if they just recreated Dune 2000 briefings in Emperor. I would love to see more elaboration on Edric 0, but it seems there will be no more canon things to learn about him.

As for the names, I have no idea - maybe they just thought it cool to give the characters names that would be familiar to those that read the books.

@TheRealIntri The Leto-Achillus change can't be explained. Maybe Edric 0 was the Speaker? And what's up with the facility change? The Harkonnen facilities looked blue and dull in 2000 while in Emperor it was green(like Lynch's movie). Never really knew much about Ordos rooms.

The original Dune 2 Ordos Mentat looks better, in fact in Dune 2 I thought they are as normal as the Atreides...after I played Dune 2000 and Emperor: BoD I realised how Ordos really are...
