College is such a SCAM!! they dont give damn weather u get a job or not when u graduate, they dont care about u as a student, and they dont care how much debt ur gonna be in THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!
well blame the baby boomer for watching too much the tv and doesn't care about there kid education system but they are too busy to watch how much of money they got in there account..
This is actually really sad. I've had people make fun of me for going to a community college. Those people are in university debt and have 2.0 GPAs. They've been brainwashed and think they're going to land a job making 6 figs. I'm now 20 and joining the Air Force as an E-3 and hope to finish my Bachelor's by the time I'm out.
Military Experience + 4 year degree + discipline = 6 fig job.
the system set up have been wrong since the beginning. how can you associate knowledge with money ? no wonder many student nowadays, very screw up because they take the course they have no desire to learn. they just want to pay the bill and get out of the hell hole and move on.
will need a degree in college...but if its filmmaking, architect, design...well you only need some type of example of your work so you can show them what type of experience you have or if your good enough to hire...but what i think is that you have to try your very hardest to be the best of what you wanna do...and just by knowing how to do your job correctly, thats your own degree so you can be hired :)
140k for private school? Invest that in a good mutual fund at 12% and you'd be set for life in fact you would have one hell of an income earner for life and probably be better off than someone with a masters.
@vfIskullangel Mutual funds are very risky and the returns are shaky... Invest in real estate instead, buy and hold where you can ride through the storm. Birddogging for other RE investors, short sales, real estate development. Attract equity and debt investors and use other people money to make YOU rich...
@heightboosting Here's the problem with Real estate, when tough times like this happens your home will be a vacant lot for months and possibly years Not to mention your already putting yourself in the whole, and putting money out. Depending on were you invest in places that give you a garenteed rate of return of like 10% or better. You sit back and allow your wealth to build vs wait for a tenant rent or a buyers market.
@vfIskullangel i am not talking about residential real estate but commercial apartment buildings... Everyone needs a place to stay and apartments is a good investment due to the afforability... If you want to learn more check out david lindahl and RE mentor.
@vfIskullangel yep i would rather get a big loan to invest it to earn income every month, and you could reinvest, and pay the loan too. its not bad debt, its good debt because your putting money on your pocket as income
A gap year before freshman year is a great idea. When they say that college graduates make more than non graduates most of that difference is due to colleges getting the upper cognitive half of the population. Aside from a few useful degrees like biotech and Medicine, degrees like History are pretty useless, and a waste of time and money.
COLLEGE is definitely not worth the price. I went to UCLA and those people rather cut FINancial Aid than to get a salary cut. Its a sham and another institution to get peoples money. However, it is worth it to go to college cuz grad school and professional school demand it. but they could seriously lower down tuition and books.
@FoolishInTheEnd It depends on what are those students majoring in. Kids are taking out these loans and major in something like Philosophy or Folk lore and Mythology.
Why does everyone put so much emphasis on getting a Bachelors degree or higher when you can go and get an associates degree. It should open up jobs that pay well but not get you rich. If you noticed in the clip, they jumped from what a high school graduate makes up to what a Bachelors degree makes. They don't mention what an Associates degree could make. It should be somewhere between what a high school grad makes and a university grad makes. Why don't they endorse those degrees as alternative
30 years later, I find my degree didn't benefit me greatly. I would rather have taken a training program. I would be working now instead of being too educated for the jobs I can actually do.
@ronoc9 I didnt see that one,but I saw stupid in america with john stossel and he covered a school that held a lottery for entrance in the school.I myself honestly thought they was terrible.People are being shut out of schools based upon money and exclusivity. Its sad.The sad thing is its an old issue.
@ronoc9 ur still missing the valid point.People cant afford the debt. Why should you spend all this money on school, get a degree and then work at a retail store or fast food place while you search for your career opening? Then on top of that, you have to pay all that money back? Its not that you shouldnt go to college, but its not worth it if you will spend your life trying to pay off a debt that is just to high. Its not worth it
@5starwrestlingradio Oh god yeah, I agree with you. Education is a right, not a privilage (at least not anymore). I meant short answer yes to the question "is it worth the cost". Should your education be limited to your money, of course not. But I just meant in the long term, education is worth so much. But yeah, I agree, it is a serious issue and it needs a lot of attention. You should check out "Waiting for Superman". Its about a school so in demand they hold lotteries for enrollment.
@ronoc9 Not to mention, they keep raising the price of living,so you need a good job.In order to get a good job,you need a better education. In order to get the education, you must go to college. In order to go to college you have to have money. If college is so vital,it should be availible for everyone. Not just for the rich.So there is no short answer for this question. Its an issue that needs seriosu attention.Yes is a lazy answer, sir.

@ronoc9 its not worth it.Just bc its good for you, doesnt mean is good for everyone.College is overrated and shouldnt be neccessary
5starwrestlingradio 1 year ago
@5starwrestlingradio But do you think you're going to get a GOOD job without a college degree. This is what's gonna to happen.
1. People will start dropping out.
2. The amount of people applying for a high paying job will decrease, making it easier for those with degrees JUST coming out of college.
3. The economy will pick up, meaning more jobs will be avaibale.
4.BUT there will be a whole section of America who wont be able to go for those high paying jobs because they didn't go to college.
