this was pretty funny but i don't understand the bad blood between bungle and the chilis. Im pretty sure it was started for some silly reason by kiedis, and it just escalated from there, especially around the time of californication, and bungle's california albums. they were to be released on the same day by the same label, but for some reason bungle's release was delayed. i think kiedis had something to do with that.

Funny, i remember this from ages ago. Bassicly Anthony Kiedis from RHCP was at a mr bungle gig. He thought that the singer was copying his style, so he told him after the show. the guy was like W/e. then Mr bungle got kicked off a bill for a show RHCP were headlining. reason being MR Kiedis didnt want a copycat before him. (kinda harsh). So then Mr Bungle did this gig. Anthony kiedis saw it and descided he would get them kicked off every show and festival he could.
@MrDuncan117 I'm pretty sure Kiedis thought that about a FNM song, then later when "California" was coming out so was "Californication" so Kiedis got pissy about it being released on the same day so the label delayed California. And probably some other things, but those are the main things I remember.

This is my personal opinion on it: I guess I can understand Mr. Bungle the performance in general. Anthony did sort of start a flame-war, and I'm okay for admitting that. The thing that gets me is I read 'Scar Tissue' and in it Kiedis says how let down he was that due to time constraints (or something of that nature) the Beastie Boys were willing to cut the Chilis from the Tibet show. Then about a year after that he gets Mr. Bungle kicked off that tour.

@1980manutd You don't judge a band on the basis of how they behave or by making comparisons. They are two completely different bands with different appeals. Mr Bungle was never truly meant to be a "mainstream band" and usually speaking staying out of the mainstream gives you more of a chance to be creative and inventive. Once you create an audience you have to please it, and trust me, satisfying a mainstream audience can be very simple or very hard. Oh and Frusciante is god.

Apparently he thought that Patton was ripping off Kiedis's style (completely ridiculous) and had them banned from a series of shows in Europe. After that, Mike Patton decided do a couple of parodies of RHCP songs at a concert. Unfortunately, this pissed off Kiedis even more and he later had them taken off of more shows.
So yeah, there's a lot of bad blood between Mr. Bungle and RHCP (specifically Kiedis).

Funny, i remember this from ages ago. Bassicly Anthony Kiedis from RHCP was at a mr bungle gig. He thought that the singer was copying his style, so he told him after the show. the guy was like W/e. then Mr bungle got kicked off a bill for a show RHCP were headlining. reason being MR Kiedis didnt want a copycat before him. (kinda harsh). So then Mr Bungle did this gig. Anthony kiedis saw it and descided he would get them kicked off every show and festival he could.

The thing people need to remember is it wasn't RHCP, it was just Kiedis being a little scrotum sucker. This is my personal opinion on it: I guess I can understand Mr. Bungle the performance in general. Anthony did sort of start a flame-war, and I'm okay for admitting that. Mr Bungle was never truly meant to be a "mainstream band" and usually speaking staying out of the mainstream gives you more of a chance to be creative and inventive. Once you create an audience you have to please it, and trust me, satisfying a mainstream audience can be very simple or very hard. Oh and Frusciante is god.

Kiedis would definitely love this....I doubt he would think anything bad of them, they seem to have a good sence of humour.

@DemonartriaRosilin He actually had a big problem with them. Apparently he thought that Patton was ripping off Kiedis's style (completely ridiculous) and had them banned from a series of shows in Europe. After that, Mike Patton decided do a couple of parodies of RHCP songs at a concert. Unfortunately, this pissed off Kiedis even more and he later had them taken off of more shows.
So yeah, there's a lot of bad blood between Mr. Bungle and RHCP (specifically Kiedis).
