  • How did u teach the bulldog how to stay on? Mine won't go near one!

  • @Brianna55birdgirl Just comes naturally to her.

  • @83EastProductions Hey so has Gracie ever fallen off while you were surfing? If she does do you just bail and go get her? Haha I'm just curious

  • @Retrospectx9 Yeah she's eaten it a few times, and sometimes she just jumps off for a swim. I usually just kick out and go grab her. She's a good swimmer so its not an issue. One of these days I'm going to post a "Gracie's Greatest Wipe-outs" video.

  • the dog is better than me at surfing!

  • Seems like Gracie is quite poular with the ladies. Good thinking

  • what perfect waves, so slow and fun. where do you live???

  • @yzujq Oahu, Hawaii.

  • lolololol.... that is amazing!

  • @83EastProductions what happens to her when you wipe out ?:)

  • @0Michaela2 She laughs at me. But when she wipes out, I'm not as mean... I just tell her "nice try" (and yes... as she swims back to me:)

  • nice for those who thinks bulldog cant swim they are right of caurse if he did´nt learn but if they learn they swim too... i know it....

  • They can't swim! I was scared for the bulldog!

  • @3258barbara Don't be scared. Think happy thoughts! :)

  • @83EastProductions dont be scared homie

  • they cant swim

  • @SlickiVicky Yes we can.

  • great stuff, just hope he doesn't crap when he's in the water ;-)

  • @airfield2 No, but she did release a speckled brown trout on the board once.

  • Oh wow, I'm a huge NOFX and Lagwagon fan and don't know how I haven't gotten more into Me First. PS I have a bully myself, any tips on getting him on even a skateboard? How old is yours?

  • @kingster911 Honestly, I think it has to be something they want to do. Gracie is 6 years old and has been surfing for about 3 years. She's been on a skateboard but she seems too distracted by the wheels (tries to bite them), and concrete does way more damage than water when they fall off. So I haven't really pushed the skating thing.

  • Do you know what the song is called? Great video, and great surfing by everyone involved!

  • @kingster911 "Fire and Rain" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmees (originally a James Taylor song)

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHA AHA AHA AHAHA HAHAHAHHAHAHAH HE HE HE HEE HEE hoo he he haa hehehe (sigh).......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

  • Respond to this video...

  • as 3 pessoas que nao gostaram gostariaom de poder faser isso com o cachorro

  • @pravariarvlog Concordo

  • lol, that's great, your dog is a better surfer than I am. (Though I enjoy trying). My dog mostly just watches me from the beach with a worried look, and starts coming towards me every time I fall in the water, then retreats when I stand up again. I think she's scared I'm going to drown or something. My other dog will only get in the water if I throw a stick for him.

  • Classic... Pet insurance pop up ad came on when this clip played! Too right!

  • Love the videos with gracie. She's gorgeous and its great she's got a caring trainer who likes to see her enjoying herself.

  • Love the spots on her ears!

  • I bet he is saying. "I don't need no stinking life jacket" I'm a tough guy. This is a great video.

  • @83EastProductions im still not convinced... i think that dogs must hate wearing anysort of dog clothes, including lif jackets, ugh, but if one fits on your dog... o.O sure, why not.

  • @gottaluvbirds I guess what I'm asking is... What choice does a dog owner have if their dog cannot swim but loves the water? My issue with some of the folks on here is that they feel they know what is best for my dog. She can swim, better than most people, and yet I'm told I don't really love her because she's not in a life jacket. By their rationale, they would never have any of their loved ones leave the house..... ever.... for fear that something bad could possibly happen.

  • @83EastProductions OK!!! no need to put me in the "we dont pay attention to lunatics" catagory! jeez! i was giving my opinion on how ive heard of life jackets on dogs that dont fit exactly how they should and that it can be dangerous! but im not a dog, or a life jacket expert, or a dog thats a lifejacket expert, im not a lunatic, weird, or creepy! i simply have an opinion! dont be such a jerk

  • @gottaluvbirds sorry.... just playing.

  • I believe those of you who criticize life-jackets for dogs have never used nor seen one - at least, not those like I employ for my six rescues - who race off the pontoon deck, vying for the longest "hang time" midair, before plunging into the lake and returning for more.

Full-length, full flotation devices, with a mesh chest, wide nylon straps, plastic snap buckles, and a lift handle on the back: Keeps 'em fully upright in the roughest of seas, allowing them to simple hang idly in the water...

  • @digameSP I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone here was criticizing life-jackets for dogs. On the contrary, there seems to be a small percentage of people criticizing me for NOT having my dog in one. And some people have been criticizing those people for criticizing me. I am very happy to hear that the life-jackets that imobilize my dog, work for your dogs. Aloha.

P.S. - I use the term "small percentage" based on the "likes" to "dislikes" ratio.... sorry... majority rules.

  • @digameSP OK.... I see that "gottaluvbirds" made a comment against life-jackets.... and its weird.... and a little creepy.... and I'm putting it in the "we don't pay attention to lunatics" category.

  • @83EastProductions Yup, that's the one I was referring to, and casual dismissals in other comments: Didn't research all ptiot comments to find others, just shared my personal experience...

I can see where the typical "aft flotation distributing" jacket (with the cut-out around the neck) might pose difficulties for Bullies and other such "bulk forward" breeds are concerned (image: bobbing cork), but my Pibble - missing a foreleg, shattered by an abuser - handles hers with considerable aplomb!

  • @digameSP That's so awesome!

  • Loved the video, Gracie is awesome, I have a bullie she wont go near the water LOL. And I love water oh well,

  • I would feel more comfortable with my dog in the ocean without a life jacket than with one. Have you seen a dog in a life jacket? They do float but not always right side up. I think you need to take into account that a wave can flip a dog upside down quite easily and if they happen to be upside down wearing a life jacket, they're screwed....much better left to their own devices. I think if this guy took the time to teach his dog to surf, he'll take the time to save her if she needs it.

  • well see you started this and telling you not to be a smart ass is not potty mouth just was concern for the dog because some people think all dogs can paddle when they can't do you know how many bulllies are found lost and abused or starving because people think they can handel them . and i thought i was being very nice you had to be a smarty pants so good luck and i may not know your bullie but i know bullies and have a wonderful day

  • @keys19971 Aloha!

  • sorry you don't have to be an ass about this just care about bullies and some people think it is all cool but i have seen alot of bullies go threw hell i know some like water some don't that is great if she does but i do now they sink hard and fast so take care of her she is a cutie gone will not respone any more sorry

  • @keys19971 She floats like a cork, swims like Michael Phelps, surfs like Kelly Slater, and bobs HEAD DOWN in the water when she wears a life jacket. Maybe instead of using your time to babble about a dog you know nothing about, you should take some anger management courses.... potty mouth.

  • if she is a good swimmer she should still have a life jacket on all it takes is that one time

  • @keys19971 Seriously, I would.... But it hinders her ability to dive for abalone and sunken treasure.

  • @83EastProductions I do agree with Keys19971, my cocker spaniel is a very good swimmer but I prefer if she has a life jacket on just in case something happens and she can't swim. If you love your puppy then it shouldn't matter to you to take extra precautions to keep her safe. I believe she may be a good swimmer and you love her. I use seatbelts for my dogs too. It never hurts to err on the side of caution.

  • @LiveLaughLove8489 I could be wrong, but I don't think it's a very good idea to let your dog drive a car, regardless of whether or not she's a good driver, or that she wears her seat belt. If you love your dog, you'll make her ride a bike. Aloha.

  • @83EastProductions XD funny, you know I meant when I drive and she is in the back seat. Don't be a smart aleck, would it really be so horrible to take other options and opinions into consideration?

  • @LiveLaughLove8489 Of course not... but there's only so many times one can explain how Gracie swims great, floats head down when she wears a life jacket, how she surfs with me on the board and a spotter surfing next to us, how the surf is small with no currents, how there really is nothing to be concerned about. What is horrible though is... oh let's say... a brain surgeon... taking advice from a mechanic... on how to perform brain surgery. Also... its just fun to spark a little controversy.

  • @keys19971 a life jacket on a dog?! seriously?! that's suicide! for a dog thats like tying balloons around your waist and hanging in the water, a life jacket on a dog is the stupidest thing ive ever heard of! and i sure hope you dont use one on your dogs!

  • @SueMehenwvHopoyv Actually, everyone should be so lucky as to have a Gracie in their lives. Cheers.

  • bull dogs are not very good swimmers why does she have a life jacket on

  • @keys19971... Assuming the first question is, in Yoda,.. "Bull dogs are not very good swimmers, why?" and your second question is... "Does she have a life jacket on?"... I will do my best to answer...

Bulldogs throughout history have been known for their magical powers of flight and fish telepathy. So if you could fly, and knew what fish were thinking, would you ever go in the water? As for the life jacket, yes... it's an invisible model I created and will be taking orders in November. Aloha

  • @keys19971 no brainer ... that's one baddassss bulldog gettin some ... a yeay ya

  • @SueMehenwvHopoyv No problems with her eyes... the salt water is actually really good for her skin and coat... there's really no undercurrents in waikiki... she eats Great Whites and Tiger sharks for breakfast (good source of protein).

  • Man, This is AWESOME!!! I'm just curious what happens if she falls off. Bulldogs swim almost as well as a brick!!!! I see here Gracie swims really well. I'd like to see some video of that!! LOL I wish I could train mine to swim!! Great Video though, Loved it!!!

  • @ocgolfdawg Yeah.... next vid I post of her is going to have a wipe-out section. And although the purpose will be to show that nothing bad happens when she falls... I'm sure somebody will send PETA my way.

  • Gracie is amazing..and oh so cute!!! Ilove her sense of adventure and her confidence...she could teach lots of women how to be...Very cool..thanks for sharing her with us.

  • Gracie is GRACEFUL!!! YEAAA!

  • Ah, to have a low center of gravity like Gracie.

  • hey guy I also have an english bulldog and I want to know how did you teach him how to surf.

    thx

  • @guilefoz She naturally had the balance for it. I spent a day or so just paddling her around on the board to get her used to it. When we took our first wave, she ran right to the nose, and the rest was history.

  • I have a bulldog and I really don`t know why they´re the only breed in the world that can skate or surf.

this is the nicest breed of dog in the world!

  • I don't know - I might put on a life jacket but check out my dog Baxter jumping the surf. He's really not in any danger and people yell at me. I mean - he has someone right beside him, I'm there videoing, and it never really gets over his head! It is individual and they just often only have to work up their strength.

  • What happens when she comes off the board? My Bullie always sank like a stone in the pool. :/

  • @timmulcare It's so nice to have someone actually ask me that rather than make blind assumptions. Thanks! Remarkably... she can swim really well. That's what makes the whole thing so great. When she falls (sometimes dives) off, she just swims around... sometimes back to me, sometimes to someone else, and sometimes back out to the line-up on her own. When I take her back to the beach, she tries to run back in and swim back out.

  • @83EastProductions see that is awesome, I have heard non of them can swim but have seen video of alot swimming. Mine hates the water dont know if she can or not LOL. She loves baths not pools or lakes and is afraid of the ocean ugh . Love Gracie though gorgeous dog.

  • Why is everyone bitching about a life jacket? If the dog can surf she can clearly fly too

  • Comment removed

  • life jacket man! not for you, for the bull!!!!

  • @Hermaisterfundgen Good call...clearly, Gracie loves it...but a jacket would be smart...keep her safe - she's awesome!

  • men!!! u an ur dog are so lucky to have eacheother!!! congrats!

  • :O WAY TO COOL

Where is this place btw? Nice waves:)

  • gracie puts my buster to shame,he's such a wuss.well done mate,thats a classic

  • OMG!!! AWESOME!!!!!

But make sure the bully has a vest on next time.

  • I think this is awesome despite everyone sounding like a mother...let the man do what he wants with the dog

  • @drafting60 .... thanks, and well said.

  • This is very cool. But Ya, I would put a vest on the dog just to be safer. It's more of a preventative thing. What a great surfer that dog! lol

  • Life vest kook!

  • @JesseDaJew yawn.

  • chais a pani jookel! kushta dawdy lol!!

  • Gracie is so lucky to have you- she looks so happy on that board. Awesome job on the video

  • Comment removed

  • I want to surf with Gracie next time I come out

  • Freakin if you love that dog put a life jacket on him.....Accidents happen all too often.

  • She swims perfectly well, and she is never in a situation where she is in any danger... being that I'm on the board with her and the cameraman is spotting us.... (But I appreciate the unsolicited advice.)

  • @83EastProductions Better to be safe than sorry. Most English Bulldogs are not known for their swimming abilities. She looks like she's enjoying herself though :]

  • kalo

  • WOW OMG.... WOW..... ive never seen anything like that.

  • owww my god!!!

  • LAWL

  • Sweet James! Keep em coming
