Funny I catch myself all the time looking up stuff on line from the 90s/80s cause it makes me much happier living in the past then living in the present. The world was just different back then, different goals, different attitudes. We werent all wrapped in status updates, tweets and txts.

  • Wow - I thought that I was one of the only ones who totally fancied Miranda... She still epitomises my type of girl.

From the comments here, it seems that I was categorically not alone!

She is a very successful make-up artist now, I think.

She looked fabulous back then, and still does now.

  • Sarah-Jane Owen was a really decent guitarist but of course being a hot blonde meant her actual talent was slightly overlooked.

Miranda Joyce was the one I fancied at school though :)

  • Yippppieyoooooooo ...

  • love this song

  • @eddboy1 re: Girls who play their own intruments...aint that the truth!

  • I used to love the girl at 1:30 seconds. gorgeous still is they were the early version of the Bangles but never quite made the bigtime pity as they were great.

  • Once had a crush on Miranda Joyce!

Used to know the band & go to most of their gigs.

Very underated band (probably because of thier poppy sound), but great Live!

Miss them, The Go Go's, & Amazulu... all great 80's girl bands, but miss The Bodysnatchers most of all!

  • Trop classe

et ca met en joie des le matin ...

    merci merci merci ..;

  • Said it when I was 16 and still say it now. Im gonna marry Miranda.

  • There was something endearingly GLC-women's-consciousness-raising-free-festival about the Belle Stars.

  • cute or not???

  • One wonders why the classic versions of music channels like MTV and VH1 almost never show some good music videos, like this one?

  • great 80`s tune, when music was music.

  • saw these supportting Madness at Preston guild hall in 1980 belive it or not i thought they were better than Madness that night they had the crowd bouncing :)

  • GAWD, I love this song!!! Always puts me in a great mood.

  • new Rick Roll'd :D

  • Half of them look like Lezzies! I bet lezzies go mad for this!!

  • some of them are lesbians

  • Pile of shit. But I've loved it ever since it came out!! Irresistable!! Thanks for posting...:)

  • @fripouille69 - - - ROFL.! Great comment. I've never been sure how to explain "guilty pleasure" to a friend of mine. Now that you have defined it perfectly, I can. Thanks.

  • Just woke up from my nap singing that :D Great tune!

  • 1 of my fatop 10ve tunes from the 80,s in my

  • @1968jumanji Oh, I'm curious. Could you send me a private message with your top ten tunes from the 80s, I'll make a list on spotify.

  • Miranda Belle Star was probably one of my first crushes!

  • Lovely ladies.

  • i fancied the bassist when i was 14, still fancy her now but now im forty i think they were all bloody hot.

  • @notanfningain What? Even the drummer? I had the hots for Miranda, Stella and SJ. I was about fourteen too. I even remember buying the album, shameful

  • @notanfningain the bassist my step mother i promise you ^^'

  • I fancied the tall dark sax player....still do :)

  • @pawnsacrifice1 Miranda, good choice

  • Why can't I download this song from iTunes??????

  • Wow, I loved this song... I still love this song... great production, too.

  • I always loved the rythm guitar riff on this. It seemed a lot of pop records of the time were influenced by dance music and had that kind of Nile Rogers Funk guitar sound

  • When I hear this song I think of my friend Justine Ormandy,Maidenhead

  • i absolutley loved this track at school dancing in the school playground

  • makes me feel so good and the past is now, listening to this jewel of the 80s! thank you for posting.

  • Great track, even though they look like dykes

  • @iberia77

At least they're not fucking foreigners. There's far too much of that.

  • Thankyou for this Post! Love and Peace...

  • Someone will no doubt correct me, but wasn't this the first use of lasers in a pop video?

I can't believe I was 12 when this came out....

  • did they have blue lasers in them days!

  • i was 9 when this song came out loved it

  • Brought to my attention by Ashes To Ashes.

Another brilliant song discovered because of that programme! Great!

  • I actually bought the picturedisc 7" of this when burgundy waffles and harringtons still went with cherry reds!

  • This is one of the best 80s classic hit EVER

  • the last time i saw this video i was a teenager

  • Great song - my deck is bust too so can't play the vinyl: good to find it here. I was an old hippie but for rhythm you can't beat ska thru reggae & two-tone and this music.

  • great tune from the era that kick started dance music.not enough girl singers/ bands these days like annie lennox or bannanarama.

  • Very powerful song back in the eighties. More ´80´s music on my channel!!!!

  • I cannot belive this song is not available on I-tunes!

  • LOL - use to mime this tune at school with Zoe Ball - oh how times have changed!

  • The band members names were - Jennie Matthias, Sarah-Jane Owen, Lesley Shone, Miranda Joyce, Stella Barker, Clare Hirst, Judy Parsons. And a former member of the band was - Penny Leyton.

Stella Barker & Sarah-Jane Owen used to be in the ska band - THE BODYSNATCHERS.

  • Penny, Miranda and Judy were in The Bodysnatchers too...

  • who was the girl on sax, with the hat on?

  • Man,

Where has the time all gone? It was good to young once.

    Great time and decade...

  • @yellowthrifty was Lesley in Amazulu as well??

  • Intriguing introduction, powerful verses, melancholically catchy-as-bird-flu chorus, strong brass interjections and a bridge to die for. What more could one ask for? It's the absolute perfect pop song. A work of genius and a deserved massive hit. Shame people associate the far inferior - and much lower-selling - Prince song with the title and this classic gets ignored.

  • @vastariner True, true, true, true. So true !!

  • The one that does the talking looks a bit like Annie Lennox

  • Awesome song and beat!!! Love it back in the 80's and still love it!!!

  • girl band who actually play own instruments....a fucking lesson to all girl bands...

  • the 80's girls were quality. today, all are white trash.

  • @eddboy1 what??? there are actually quite a few girl bands who play their own instruments.

  • @eddboy1 A lesson in fucking? Wow.

  • I'm in love with the main singer :)

  • who can name all 7 members

  • Blimey this takes me back

  • the guitarist is pretty, the others look like lesbian social workers.

  • The Belle Stars played in support at a Madness gig in Nottingham about 1982. Great night never forgotten..... thanks for posting.

  • 80's are the absolute best! Even young adults today say the same.

  • hey girls in a band who actually have talent...

  • Does anybody know the chord sequence for this classic?...Please post!..Much appreciated!..

    Stralight321

  • It's nice to see woman with actual musical talent there I said it :-)

  • Lets be honest here, could you imagine any of todays girl bands playing their own instruments ;) lol it aint gonna happen mores the pity, they spend far to much time preening and dating worthless footballers ;) a classic from the best era in music

  • Me too Winner, coming of age tunes, you don't appreciate then until you get older.

Here's to kids that grew up in the 80's!

  • i remember this song from when i was young but had no idea what it was.

    great tune, addictive lol

  • She's really beautiful... Pure beauty!!

A bit looks like my ex-girlfriend...

  • I think I possibly masterbated for the first time ever to a photo of the woman at 1:15 back in 1983.

    too much info?

  • Doesn't "the woman at 1:15" look like Siobhan Fahey from Bananarama?

Oh and so did I lol

  • Didn't we all? And I'm a guy!! haha. Love those 80's eyebrows. I hope they make a comeback.

  • hah hah, yeah she does a bit.

and as for Siobhan - yeah I definitely would.

(although she was no Kim Wilde or Debbie Harrie).

I pity the poor kids of today who only have the likes of Britney Spears, Lily Allen or other such slutty tartlets to fantasise over.

  • I really remember loving this song........Damn, time doth fly

  • @winniewinthrop Indeed Winnie! Too damn quick! Were better times though!

  • I am half Brit. Live in the U.S.A. When I go back to England for a visit, we should hang out and listen to 80s music!

  • j'aime! baucoup de souvenir, merci pour cette vidéo

  • i always thought these were a buch of lemons

    great song though !
