  • line dancing in public period is a little weird as a elective hobby

  • is gay spiderman meetups and doll alters happening in parks in vancouver bc canada? not the white people. maybe the japs lol

  • LMAO wow a haruhi Zuzumia cult following well this happens a lot in Anime convetions in U.S.

  • roKiel374

I own half of it, so tough luck fool! Ha Ha Ha

  • lol i can't describe how intense my urge to kill someone is right now.

    lol.

  • @rokiel374 there are over 230,000 of you chinks in my country , out of 4 million . in asia there are about 100,000 white people out of over 3,879,000,000,000 asian people. do the math and sit down .

  • I've seen some pretty cool ones up on Youtube. It's so CRAZY good!

  • this Mr. is a total jerk!!!

  • They're doing the Hare Hare Yukai

  • Get a LIFE, racist. RESPECT THEIR CULTURE. They're not messin with yours.

  • @SimplyElisse Don't bother talking sense, you are dealing with an English teacher, in Japanese society they rank somewhere between pedophiles and purse snatchers.

  • @SnuggeryBuggery

    March 2, 2008

  • You can see the exact same thing in the US. Anime cons, comicons, ect. Its not weird at all, and pretty common. It happens all over the world, and thousands upon thousands of people attend. Me and some friends have done the exact same dance you saw (Hare Hare Yukai) at several cons and public places.

  • Dude, one thing is to tape stuff to show it to others, another completely different is to add offensive comments. No wonder your video has so many dislikes.

  • western people are not welcome in asia! get lost gaijin

  • @roKiel374

Oh, really? Too late. There are 100,000s of us here already. Maybe you should stop advertising tourism here and offering us jobs. Noob.

  • @Gimmeabreakman then shift to polsci if you want to have a better job

  • @roKiel374

I actually like my job. But polsci?

  • @Gimmeabreakman rokiel374 is just being an ass. I am Japanese and I don't have anything against gaijin.

  • @Gimmeabreakman Just for the record, that rokiel guy is a philipino, he is not a japanese.

  • @roKiel374 Please don't say that because not all western people are like this asshole. I really ant to go to japan and i have attened two anime conventions and plan to cosplay soon at the next one. to be honest I find them pretty cool ^__^ He's just an ass

  • i think you weird...get a life Mr....get something else to do..

  • Comment removed

  • @Gimmeabreakman Why does a fat fuck whine about what people do? You're the kind of people that gives american's a bad reputation. Ah, btw you're strange because you walk around like a perv filming people.

  • Yeah! Haruhi Dance!

  • my guess is the made in the video is Roberta from Black Lagoon. What do you guys think?

  • do you normally go around filming teens o.o

  • I thought this was an awesome peek into Japan.

Obviously it isn't that normal to make altars to cartoons and dance in front of them or the other kids wouldn't have been chortling about it.

And yes it is proof the world is going to Hell, pretty much.

    Bless up!!!

  • Dumb ass gaijin video taping with out permission. His life must really suck that he has nothing else to do ,but make fun of what he can not understand. You should try something else like underwater basket weaving.

  • @sashaseven

Yeah, holding a camera in someone's face is really secretive. But I will admit that I did not know what i was talking about back in those days. Note that this was taken in 2008. Since them I am Cosplay King.

    PEACE!!

  • I got really into the anime Inuyasha for years! I felt like I was different and strange because I couldn"t talk to ANYONE about it. I still feel that if people were more tolerant I would have been able to have WAY more fun with that interest of mine. Everybody around me was so judgmental that they just assumed the show was "gay". That's just sad. We are a species with imaginations, let's take advantage of that and not be judgmental about it. Life isn't dull to those people in the video ;)

  • @TheDavid2222 Story of my life. Inuyasha is what started my anime interest, and I feel like I can't tell anyone because we live in such a judgmental society. I'm hiding myself from everyone...because if they knew they would assume that I'm "gay". I learned that the hard way. Call it my dirty little secret. If I were born in Japan, though, I don't think I'd have that problem.

  • @bulldogflyer04 maybe Japan just has a way more intelligent population than the U.S. I think ignorance is really what leads people to be judgmental. I really want to visit Japan someday. I have really gotten into Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon too. Have you heard of those animes?

  • @TheDavid2222 I've heard of Cowboy Bebop, I've tuned into it a few times on Adult Swim.

  • A Japanese man needs to kick your faggot ass.

  • @BellumSacrumBellum28 Ummm. He's not a faggot. He's just a jerk. Seriously. I'm a "faggot" and I don't post videos on youtube making fun of people. :P

  • Why do you feel the need to put people down for having harmless fun,I would love to join a group like the here in Calif., looks like fun.

  • I think I smoke too much tobacco. I see a guy holding a giant stuffed Pooh bear and think "Is that a Lucky Strike jacket?!"

  • Wow there dancing to Hare Hare Yukai XD

    nice :3

  • OMG Hare Hare Yukai!! My friends are obsessed with that song and dance right now! lol XD and this is almost 3 years later lol

  • HARE HARE YUKAI!

  • A lot off peaople meets on net when meet ech other at real life.. its normal in 21 century :D and it will be more common in future :D whats our kids future :D

  • lol their otaku thats y lol the dance their doing is from an anime called the melancholy of haruhi shuzimia (sp?) and dance thats starting to get on my nerves cuz too many ppl feel the need to actually do it

  • If I can't change my origins I want to be japanese!

  • Haruhi-ism FTW!

  • Sooner or later they're gonna celebrate the anime matsuri, or they already have that right now?

  • oh wow, this is pretty interesting, how long did it take to learn japanese though?

  • Haruhism! :D

  • Haha nice :D

What are you doing in Japan though? Work?

  • In Denmark we sometimes meet with people from the internet, we call that "events". The first time i discovered it was when i started to like a Danish band "The Dreams", i saw that people arranged "events" so me and my cousin started going and it was very fun! :)

  • Another foreigner in Japan assuming superiority to compensate for lack of social status and job prospects. Instead of letting Japan annoy you, just leave the country.

  • Ahhhh!! It's the hare hare yukai!! LOVE it!!

  • Alter to the anime gods was awesome :D

  • I think it is nice they are out doing something creative together. Dancing is fun. They are outside and excercising. Nothing wrong with it. Have to admit its entertaining to watch.

  • I wanna go to Japan

  • Japan isnt even like that, not everyone does this shitt.

  • @jesscuhhhhh ''this shit''? damn... not everyone but 60% por the jap people does haha.... it's anime/ manga.... they like iot just like americans like comic books. but they are not fat (:

  • @rafhalimaxd

Actually the percentage is more like 5%, but that's still A LOT of people!

  • @Gimmeabreakman heh ... i like to exaggerate

  • Yes, it is very common in the USA. The site is meetup.com. People with similar interests just meetup. I was in DC on business and had a free evening. I went on meetup.com, plugged in the local zip code, and got together with a group with a particular interest that happened to be meeting that evening. It's no different than the old style of posting an announcement on a bulletin board or newspaper... just more efficient.

  • 1:19 bird flu

  • @4RESPECTMYAUTHORITAH

Maybe you should my BEST JAPANESE COSPLAY VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

This video is over 2 years old. Things change.

    Thanks for watching!

  • i doubt crazy is the best word

  • i thought it was para para XD

  • Um...I have lived here in Japan for 20 years and have seen many things done differently to the way they are done other places...you beat a guy up about his English grammar...make your next post in perfect Japanese (I will let you know how you did) or shut up and get a life and leave others alone...

  • @kdfics March 02, 2008

  • Haru haru Yukai dance...FTW

  • Holy shitballs. If kids did this in the U.S. they would get their asses beat on a daily basis.

  • Spider-Man dancing to Hare Hare Yukai? That's not something you see everyday!

  • @Kaymac192 i was going to say the exact same thing haha

  • ur a fucking jerk man you should put that 'WTF' next to ur face

  • @GAwsomeUnit

Wow! So angry! Check out my latest COSPLAY video

    youtube.com/watch?v=9vJJniTMxow

    That should calm you down.

  • @Gimmeabreakman haha nah im not angry just felt like raging at the next clip i watched its all cool

  • your thinking is really pathetic! there isn't any problem with what they are doing. they like so let them do what they want..

  • @byondthesky

I agree. I was small minded in those days. But pathetic? Whateveh, sistah!

  • lol hare hare yukai!!!

  • I don't see why people are overreacting about this...

no this isn't part of the japanese culture.

    I'm japanese.

He was being sarcastic, as in he made this video because it's not what you see everyday.

Ask yourself this, do you see people dancing to anime songs when meeting for the first time online in any usual park? Even in Japan?

  • Yup. It happens. People meeting up first time for no reason :) In a big group usually so that there isnt any inappropriate events that can happen. (Like kidnapping)

  • what is your problem

  • the song/dance is from the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

  • I see no problem in what these teens do, it`s not hurting none. If you want to go against something, go against the number of teens getting pregnant, or drugs, or anything else that does actual damage to society. And plus, western people care too much about being normal and following standard, I rather live in a country in japan where people don`t care that much to status.

  • If you have a problem with japan, why are you there? Plus carrying pooh is a signal of world going to hell? Weird is you...

  • japanese animes are the best and from all the ppl from japan there are some that like dancing with animes song or something like that, if you don't like it just leave Japan because I love it!!

  • Look out of all the wacked out thing people do. Playing pretend in a dance party is low in the ratings.

  • anime otaku

  • Comment removed

  • dude i been watching your videos for along time and I don't know why i didn't sub to you sooner I just sub to you WTF took me so long to do this I don't know.....

  • Damn weeabos.

  • Hare Hare Yukai Dance. haha

  • Hellz to the yea!! Go Winnie Pooh!

  • Wow, Japan is crazy! I can't wait to go there! :D

  • Lets arrange something like this on here... cant wait to plan my outfit and dance routine hahaha

  • what is the problem, i know alot of people that like to dance anime coreography, and???, they are all around the world!¡!¡!¡!¡ if you can not understand just fk U

and if you want to say something about my ortografy, yes, i habe a realy bad one

  • hare hare yukai ;p

  • cospley, cospley, cosplsy, spiderman, cosplay.... wait what?

  • After watching the whole video I realised you didn't live in Tokyo (never been there you said) so I can actually understand why you thought this was weird! :) If you had been hanging out for a few months around Akiba and Harajuku you would probably be desensitized like me and think that this kind of behaviour is pretty normal :P

  • Theyre dancing, so what?

  • People dancing in the beginning of the video are Haruhi Suzumiya fans

  • LOL, I Love Japan!

  • Lol, yeah I've been asked quite a few times if I want to meet up with people that I talk to on the internet....unfortunately I know people in Britain, Japan, Russia, etc. So yeah, never was able to meet up with them *sigh*

  • woot you, need some good anime culture update

  • the anime dancing must be the equivilant of LARPers in the usa. these are people in costumes from the dark ages who run around parks and national forests and duke it out with foam weapons

  • no we dont have a local pigeon man but we do have a man that sweeps the sidewalks and weeds the cracks of them and goes on weird tyraids about how the world is going to shit...lol

  • I guess it's better than gangs getting together to murder rob and rape like they do in this country.

  • hahaha suzumiya no haruhi dance xD would love to join them

  • xDDDDDDDDDD how cute ...

  • Japan has all the fun...

  • This is because most Japanese don`t have a clue and are searching for something they can actually do personally that is not related to business. And this is what you end up with. It is very entertaining to them and that is what counts most.

  • .. are those japanese ppl in general or just anime fans... cuz if its japan in general.... awesome.... im movin

  • In America if something happens like this, it usually ends up on Dateline NBC, or a kid gets raped. lmao.

  • this is like the most normal vid about japan I've seen.......

  • lol whats wrong with meeting people u talk to on the internet? just like on the phone, or writing letters, but at least they are trying to get to the person. There is literally nothing wrong about it. AS LONG as they dont meet in a shady place. They should meet at the park or restaurant, heck i dont know

  • No respect at all :)

  • Haruhi strikes again!

..That dance is very popular actually..Well, with anime fans.

  • japanes are like they are..what are your problem..?

  • @studeno

    What "are" your grammar problem?

  • Answer to all the questions on your video: It's Japan. :)

  • omgi know that dance it's the hare hare yukai look it up it's the first dance on here

  • they were dancing to Haruhi Suzumiya the guy with the blue skirt was dressed up as her its cosplaying and teenagers in america do it but only at anime conventions.

  • I think the comments at the end of the video were just rude. That is just my opinion, I mean for your wife to say that she would be embarrassed, and kick her own kids out just for being himself!? What the heck dude.I mean at least these kids are doing something, and not drugs, killing each other, and robbing people like some of the youth here in America.I lived in Japan and I loved it you were able to be yourself, you got to stand out, not just blend in!! No hate intended just making a comment

  • If only more kids...teenagers did this, the world would be a better place, rather than hanging round Off Licences (liqour stores to you American type people) buying cheap booze, going to a childrens play park getting drunk and smashing glass bottles in areas children play....or is that just a British problem?

Anyway..even though this video is 2 years old...I still enjoyed it.

  • thumb up and thumb down...opinion is divided

  • @mekainko

Actually 95% of the thumbs down come from one disgruntled ex-fan with a thumb downing automated software.

  • @Gimmeabreakman

That sucks dude. Some people really have no lives. LoL youtube drama...

  • @Gimmeabreakman Yeah thought so... your vids are great so I cant understand the hate. The G-string one hate is probably from jealous guys and this one is from people who misunderstand... u dont say it is a problem... or wrong... people need to lighten up... u obviously simply find it strange and wanted to find out more about it and show us... which we are grateful for as we feel the same when seeing things like this!!!!!

  • @Gimmeabreakman Automated software? Good excuse for avoiding reality.

  • Haha, well, I can tell you from my experience, in Boston, I've meet up with some people from the Anime Boston Convention Forums...

... Yeah, we are kinda crazy. But its fun! ^_^;; But japan on the other hand... they take it to another level. O___O

  • i thinking meeting over the net break social norms and race barriers . finding out that others might like similiar things.

  • kids do this at my college lol

  • Ahhhh its the Hare Hare Yukai!!!!!!

  • omg themz doin the lucky star! lol

  • WHY DONT I LIVE THERE?!?!?!

  • i kinda understood why they were dancing.... not the way they were dancing...but not the "gay looking spider man o_o'

  • Otakuuuuus : ) F..k yeah !

  • they are training for the army.

  • Hi!

I'm in Tachikawa for the next 3 months and I was hoping to learn conversational japanese from you. I'm willing to pay a reasonable rate. Would that be OK?

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

You were talking about oppression towards anime people not oppression towards lesbians or women.

Yeah, oppressed or not, you're an idiot.

  • @Gimmeabreakman *Shrug* I would have addressed that but youtube cut me off. It has a 500 character limit, as I assume you know. And honestly? Do you think a stupid person could speak to you on this level at the age of 14? I think it's laughable you're even arguing with a 14 year old, especially at your apparent age. You're confusing angry with idiotic, I'm completely aware that I'm taking my anger out on someone who doesn't deserve it. Really! What kind of role model for teens are you?! =P HAHA

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

Role model for teens? Why would you think that? I don't interact with teens at all or target you in my vids.

If I had known you were 14 I never would have wasted my time. Please return to your regularly scheduled program of penis and fart jokes.

  • @Gimmeabreakman I didn't expect any different. You seem to think that fart jokes are MY generation though. Try a little closer to oh... yours? And do you have short-term memory problems? Last time I checked I was lesbian and unless someone redefined it, I believe it is void of penis. All adults are role models for kids, you don't have a choice. You simply are. And by the way, I accept your surrender.

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

Read FREAKONOMICS and you'll see that adults have little influence on kids. Who know who has the most? Your peers. If you want to save the world, be nice to people.

Thanks for all the comments. Take care.

  • @Gimmeabreakman But fortunately, I completely separate myself from my peers =D! Yay for independent study? I have no interest in saving the world, just ruling it =3. Thanks for the argument, you take care of yourself too! ^-^

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

You do seem intelligent but you lack ability to form coherent arguments. You put out arguments that seem to follow a path that disappear half way down the road and make assumptions where there is not evidence. And then you start off on arguments that have nothing to do with the last one.

The fact that you are 14, lesbian, independent, etc. have nothing to do with a 2 year old video that -- if you had bothered to read through the comments --is really outdated in every way.

  • @Gimmeabreakman No hate. Try rereading your comments from an objective point of view and maybe you'll see what I mean. If not, whatever.

  • @Gimmeabreakman No no, that's totally true. It's inaccurate to lack I lack the ability to form coherent arguments though. I don't expect you to know nor agree because you have not been privy to any evidence that proves that point. But then, trolls don't need to make sense. All in all, troll week is over, so have a nice life! =)

  • I hope you realize that by calling it "crazy" and saying the world is going to hell because of this you're upsetting MILLIONS. Anime is extremely popular and frankly, your wife will most likely have to kick out ALL her children if she can't handle it. I hope she has to, That or I hope she gets into a horrible accident and either dies or is unable to have children after that. Calling anime crazy is the equivalent to calling all Russians stupid and the Russians WILL TAKE. YOU. DOWN. BITCH.

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

Thanks for your very "sane" statement.

  • @Gimmeabreakman =D No problemo, taking out my anger on random strangers is my specialty! Oh and by the way, implying that being angry at people who denounce something they don't understand is crazy... Well doesn't it sound kind of like what society did to gays for YEARS? Or to women for being angry at being oppressed? Not that you did, because you're oh, so, INNOCENT. (Kudos for passive aggressive?)

  • @TheMonsterBlanket

First of all Einstein. This video is 2 years old. Read through the comments. You think you're telling me something original?

I'm not arguing with you about your view. I agree with you NOW...but at the time this vid was made I had never seen anything like it.

But it's def not mainstream yet.

2nd of all, you've got a twisted view of reality if you think that your pain is ANYTHING like the real oppression and cruelty that women and gays experienced. Get a reality check.

  • lol meets like that happen A LOT in the US if you happen to stumble upon us in the act XD it's safer meeting in large groups like this because you don't have to worry about kidnapped and it's lots of fun! Hare hare yukai is out of style now, though cause it's been sooooo over done and everyone knows it XD;;

  • i found it shocking how many people know what dance they are doing. i was just thinking "wow, that country is fucking nuts"

  • LOL THE HARE HARE YUKAI. In a circle.

And Haruhi toys! I want a Yuki one. -_-

  • AHA Hare Hare Yukai really slow lol

  • I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS DANCE bwahahah

  • good exercise i guess lol

  • It's the Haruhi Song!

  • LOL! Hare Hare Yukai. I was in Tokyo with my girlfriend visitng her grandparents. Were walking through Akihabara and saw people doing this dance on the sidewalk. I thought it was the funniest thing. I found it cool because they're having fun and being happy. They invited me to dance with them. It was the funniest sight. I was tripping and stumbling everywhere. I stuck out like a total Gaijin, but they were cool about it. Then we took pictures. LOL!

  • LOL this is WAY common in US just go to anime convention someone always starts a hare hare yukai dance

  • wtf crazy japanese LMAO

  • Its called the Hare Hare Yukai lol

  • haa cool

    look at my page

  • Swear I've seen something like this at an anime con, lol.

  • my japanese friend who is 23 would consider that a taboo and quickly label them as definite otaku. its strange, for him there are the "normal/cool" anime and anime that otaku people watch and if you go beyond simply watching any anime like buying anime related merchandise then it is otaku.

  • as from my point of view i would probably do the same as your wife and disown my child if i found him participating in such activities lol.

  • OTAKU EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding! But this is funny!

  • XD I lol'd at Spiderman! I gotta say, this stuff doesn't seem uncommon to me either. I see this stuff all the time here in America. =P

  • I would love to meet the people I meet over the internet. The only problem with that is most of the people I talk with are either all the way on the opposite coast in California or the surrounding states or way down south in Florida.

  • They were doing the hare hare yukai dance From Suzumi Haruhi's Anime =D Very Popular dance For Anime fans in Japan AND America!!

  • And Australia

  • Hmmm this is quite old video now but thought I'de comment anyway :D In Finland you see this a lot, but people don't think of it as normal~

I've met almost all my friends through internet, and went and saw them IRL for the first time 4 years ago and had fun :D we didn't dance though (which we do now). In the internet it's easier to find people who have common hobbies. Sorry if my english doesn't make that much sence :'D

  • how long did it take you to completely learn japanese, cause ive been interested for a long time

  • "totally normal" is a very subjective word. Also, just because you can find millions of videos about somethign doesn't mean it is EXTREMELY popular. I'm sure there is a niche market. But it's not mainttream yet. And I don't know what Single Ladies are so... there you go.

I teach movies and TV for a living. I was talking about MAINSTREAM popularity.

Anyway, I have only seen this a few time in my 18 years plus here.

  • @Gimmeabreakman You should have dressed as Superman and showed them up =)

  • Not EVERYBODY. Cartoons and anime are not the same. Manga is different. And I never mentioned that. But I would say manga is incredibly popular.

  • 0:40 looks like the japanese Macarena.

  • haha. no, it's just is evidence that there are weirdos out there! lol

  • it's funny because if i fast forward from this video i'm pretty sure i will find a certain amount of J-Vlogers meeting up either in Osaka or Tokyo for a get together.... haha. XD

but at least they are making the effort to have some type of human connection, what makes it better for them is that they already have a few things in common. so no biggie... however, for some odd reason i felt that i was watching the nonsense that goes down in those anime conventions lol.

    good vid !
