  • it would be nice if You could even see.... it is filmed in very poor quality... aren't we supposed to be able to SEE what she is doing.... sewing is a close up craft!!! very frustrating....

  • Your lessons are to short and to many parts it's really not worth watching sorry

  • PUCKERIIIING!!! Woa, makes me crazyyyy! I am a perfectionist and this hurts!

  • She is a muthah pucker, lol!

  • What a freakin mess! Where can I learn how to do this properly? It was a mess from the moment she started sewing, I am just a beginner, but even I can see that!

  • she called herself an expert? omg , she must be kidding, i can sew much better than her, and yet i am still a student.

  • How do you make a bikini?

  • I appreciate your time and effort to share with us. This is very helpful.

  • shit, must have missed a step, mine looks like crap

  • i concoor

  • take of your shirt

  • It would have been better to thread baste the entire placket to hold it flat. It's being pushed off grain. That presser foot is pushing the placket toward the narrower side, too. It may have been better to use a wider presser foot that has more surface area to sit on top of the fabric, or to hold the shirt so the wider part of the foot is on top of the placket and stitch near the edge (rather than to have most of the foot off the placket). The Featherweight seems to be doing a good job.

  • not terribly expert is she? that puckering is from fabric being off grain, or pressure foot tension way too tight, or sewer not letting the machine feed the fabric on its own. whichever the case, don't learn topstitching from this video.

  • @mrmatthunt IF your such an expert WHY are you watching this video....? DURRR!!!

and actually if you look the puckering was from her NOT holding the fabric snug on the top stitch! Just sayin'

  • I really wanted a featherweight till I seen this video, the puckering is being caused by the machine, same as my mid 90s singer used to do not the same as the much older singers, yuck!

  • Yes, I was to judgmental with the featherweight. There are obviously many problems, with the fabric and machine's presser foot pressure. I don't think anyone could have guided that better. All in all a very bad tutorial.

  • @bellynda1

It's definitely not the featherweight. I have one and I've managed to sew some great looking plackets while others have had a little bit of puckering. It's most likely the pressure from the presser foot, as some people have said.

  • @clds84 Lol, she just isn't that great. She can't talk and sew at the same time. Hahaha....who am I to talk though. I'm not very good yet either. =/
