the clutches last longer than just a few months. They are averaging 10,000 miles and unless you are riding 2,000 miles a month. Which i doubt. The clutch will last just fine. They also have upgrades to the clutch to make it last even longer.

this bike is a masterpiece, it is smaller than the Japanese bikes since its a V twin, i sat on one of these and i noticed the handlebars and tank are closer than my R1, but i also noticed the new R1's and R6 bikes have a shorter distance between both ends and mines a 2003.

But if you have the money to afford and maintain this bike than yes its amazing, but i dont think i want to dish out 600 bucks for a set of dry clutches every few months

hp is not everything the ducati got more torque... and the r1 got the maximum power at around 10000rpms the ducati maybe at 7000 +/- rpms and the r1 is a straight 4cylinder and the ducati 1098 uses a v2 so u cant compare them if u just look at the hp... but for the price and so on i also would take the r1

The Ducati has a L twin block..has desmodromic valves..torque is incredible higher that the japan one..the price is higher cause the material are better, 4 example the wheel are made of magnesium, the brakes are Brembo Gold Edition not Nissin or Tokico, the ammo are Ohlins. Every Ducati is assembled by hand like all the weldings. The answer to the question "why a Ducati?" i think could be "if you're a great pilot buy it otherwise you won't feel the difference" Ducati always win the SBK races..

The Engine size create the hp and ducati has less compared to a japanese (749 has 108, Ninja 6x-zx has 125).. the important thing is torque (749= 86Nm, Ninja 66Nm)... i don't thing the engine size is decisive but i believe desmodromic enginers are a better choice...
