I personally think Russia has a pretty shit army in terms of men. You may correct me if Im wrong. But their weapons and tanks. So very cheap yet so very very very reliable. the Kalashkinov has been goin for over 60 yrs. Good weapon and the T series tanks are uncomfortable but they'll do their job

They have large amounts of resources but are completely failing to develop internal infrastructure and industries unlike their Chinese, Indian & Brazilian counterparts. After the gas incident with Ukraine over 2 years ago, most of Europe is looking elsewhere for energy bcoz there is too much chest pounding from Russia. The energy advantage will remain for a while but if they carry on like this, they won't merit their inclusion in BRIC

I remember studying them at University briefly as part of my International Relations and the Cold War came into it.

I think they are powerful in terms of potential, just like the Chinese were in the 1960's.
