  • Is that a Pedulla bass?

  • Very cool. I always wondered if this would work- apparently it does!

  • Lol, buzz is not the best name for a bass

  • absolutely stunning, gorgeous

  • This vid just made me order an Ebow. Sweet sound! :)

Btw. Is it a bit on the tricky side to switch strings whilst using the ebow? all the videos Ive found seem to stick to the same string..

  • i love this effect even more on bass than i do on guitar.

  • Parts sounded like a cello :|

  • bass + parallel tenths = magic;

    fretless + bow = magic;

    this = double magic!

  • wow your bass can change colour!

  • ... That sound it makes at 1:13 is so damn beautiful. I'm playing it over and over again.

  • This is very cool man. love it.

  • @GsOrtega93

thanks Gabe! Keep on going with the bass improvs

  • where did u get the ebow? wat brand is it?

  • Very beautiful.

  • Play some Pantera

  • how do you keep the ebow sound going? i just got an ebow and im finding it heaps hard to keep the sound while playing.

  • this was beautiful

  • @CpGamer9786 Theyre just markers. Cant you hear the sliding???

  • sounds like something in a system of a down song

  • so what color is your bass?

  • really cool

  • DOes the Ebow work well on the deeper bass strings?

  • you should make this into a song

    it sounds sad yet beautifull

    v.v its peacefull

  • How much did that Ebow cost? :O

  • @CpGamer9786 The frets are painted or inlayed on, but they arent actualy frets, they only look like frets.

  • Could you please make a song out of this, a complete one? <3

  • is there any chance i could get a recording of this, would love to add some guitar to this

  • How well does the e-bow work on the three other strings?

  • it works just the same, even good for low b strings. just ask michael manring.

  • I would've assumed Manring uses some pretty thin strings though, so the string would even be more affected. Still hard to justify spending almost 100 bucks on one though. what a dilemna lol

  • true, but he also has regular gauge strings. its all depends on your style and preference of sound. im planning on buying one so i can use it for bass and guitar.

  • what kind of bass is that? looks kinda like my washburn xb-100 bantam series, but i think its just a common body.

  • it's a Pedulla Buzz. neck-through body

  • amazing.

  • very goood

  • Wow that sounds great. How much is an ebow?

  • about a $100

  • Yes, but it sounds like a fretless...!!! :-)

  • No, actually, it's just a fretless with fret lines and steel strings.

  • Beautiful

  • Dude - Very cool use of ebow. It's rare on a bass, and hard to do. We have to work on getting the info on your camera to not record though!

    Good job man!

  • The lines are just markings... Can't you hear? It's fretless.

  • It has inlays, not actual frets.

  • This is beautiful, you know you can even use the ebow on a toaster!

  • Very nice bit of e-bow work - I enjoyed it lots especialy with the thumbed bass string as well - must be tricky holding the e-bow at the same time - I'm going to try it.

  • sounds kinda like modest mouse

  • finally a good bass ebow video. damn i want one now!! cheers!

  • Yeah, I've been waiting years to hear this due to lack of gear!

  • very nice man!

  • Hi man this is really cool! But I would like to know how do you get that sound exactly? Is it a pedal effect or..?

    cheers!

  • thanks ! it's a small magnetic field generator that you hold with plucking hand above the strings to create vibration

  • @432hertz

Very interesting. Is it a pain to hold? Can you play with your middle and index finger while holding it?

  • @rage1331 I must say for me it IS a bit of a pain to keep the ebow still . I find you have to "micro-adjust" to deal with the different string angles that occur as you play.I thought they should make one for bass! you can anchor the ebow against the body of the bass at an angle and use forefinger or thumb.... cheers Zach thanks for listening everyone!!

  • haha cool! But can u choose the time reaction of the effect so u can be more accurate in faster mouvement? Just to know : P but its interesting haha!

    Peace man

  • ha ! your a freak !

  • Wow. Haunting sound. You've just given me the perfect idea for a track I'm working on.

  • awesome man!!! I borrowed a friend's ebow, and played with it a bit, love that sound man!!!

  • That's pretty cool. I'm actually looking into getting an ebow trying simulate the sound of a bowed cello or double bass. Do you think its a good investment?

  • An eBow has 2 settings: "Normal" and "Harmonic". Using it in "Normal" along with playment and technique can certainly get you a bowed cello-tyoe sound.
