  • How much cost a house on Your's street ?

  • It does burn a lot of oil.

  • badass engine note!

  • I love the sound of it!

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!:D

  • OMG 0:07 - 0:11 thats what I call music

  • @zoxsk8 ive heard well tuned symphonies that dont even compare

  • OMg such a badd-ass car. :D verry nice

  • whats on that cherry bombs? sounds to much like a bubba truck to me.

  • @ducatinova lol cherry bombs..Thats just the sound of the exhaust.

  • Youngster don't realize that this car was in showrooms in summer of 1962. It was the ultimate in futuristic styling. Even tho I owned a 1963 split window corvette, I knew this was a far more awesome design. Reason being is that the Avanti design would be incorporated in car designs far into the future. A could name at least a half dozen current models that incorporate Avanti design, even to the likes of Nissan's Murano. Few know that the original design was actually 3/4 scale of the final car.

  • RLC501..This is music to my ears...I have owned over 100 Studebakers in my life..but, I never got to own an Avanti...not yet, anyway.

The last one that I had was a 55 President, 5 passenger coupe. This was one BAD RIDE..it had a 289,..bored and stroked out to 320..with a hand made Crane cam...made by Mr. Crane himself...a 650 Double Pumper carb. This thing put out over 600 HP and was unreal. A Borg-Warner 4 speed with a posi-traction rear end. It ran like a bat out of hell, too.

  • @Domes1947 Sir, I say this with respect, but 600 horses out of a 289 Stude (even if it is poked now to 320 in.) with out a turbocharger or a blower (and NOT the original supercharger) seems quite unlikely. With a big cam, headwork, headers and a single 4bbl, I bet you were closer to 400. But like I say, with respect.

  • The exhaust note of an R2 and the whine of a Paxton SN60... My two most favorite sounds in the world. Love the video.

  • naice sound but i hate the styling of the car

  • The Avanti designers had to use an existing Studebaker chassis as their platform. It's been called "a Lark in a gilded cage". they designed a 2+2 coupe so they wouldn't be competing directly against that other fiberglass sport car. As to styling, beauty is in the eye, and you can't argue with a 0.33 drag coefficient. Studebaker never advertised the Avanti engine horsepower ratings, but the numbers bandied about by the magazines were probably conservative. R-3 was probably closer to 420 than 335.

  • Sin ninguna duda la mejor marca en el mundo aguante STUDEBAKER!!!

  • Run Amsoil HDD 5W30 and you will be amazed of the added throttle response, smoothness and feel. It will also protect the valve train better and cut engine temps.

  • Wow! That car sounds AWSOME!! I love it!!

  • I'm a fanatic of Studebakers, this one is gorgeous, powerful and beautiful, a car that went beyond all times, congratulations for that beautiful car, preserve it for good, congratulations again, greetings from Colombia.

  • Awesome Avanti, got a 4-speed or a power shift auto? Also a word to the wise I'd take it easy on peeling out the axles can snap near the drum causing the car to loose a rear wheel dropping on the ground. Came close with our 61 Hawk. But nice:)

  • Thanks for the advice! It has an auto.

  • @RCL501 and powerhawk56 good advice PHawk my dad has a 63 R2 and broke the rear axle on a freeway in utah around 1983. it has been welded back together and since then replaced with a lincoln axel with disc breaks were still working on it

freaking awesome car my alltime fav just a bit lite in the rear axel dept.

  • HA!!!!! AVANTI....THATS MY NAME

  • very cool video on the most beautiful car ever
