@hs82bc83 I think more or less because they hinted sex around 21:08, easier to flag the whole season instead of every few episodes and the season is already roughly 13 episodes so might as well

@monkeyman12954 By the same token, you aren't a Japanese linguist; english voice actors are also picked to suit characters (Unless it's 4kids OnePiece lol). Lawrence and Holo's voice actors are fitting.

Not saying the sub is bad but HOLY CRAP huge difference in the voices and I mean the TONE of their voices not language.

@BlueNeko1 One last note. No doubt Otaku culture is fansinating, we of course respect Japanese cutlure and language, but in North America, without dubbing, anime business would cut in halves. If fewer pppl buy anime, the anime distribution companies would lose a lot money. If they can't afford to bring in more titles from Japan, then fans can no longer buy as many anime as they desire. Is this what you want? Still criticizing English dub, which make anime to be known in the first place? Please.
@AdvertChild98 I wasn't critisizing the English dubb, I liked the english dubb for this particular anime alot. But I WAS critisizing all the lazy people on here complaining about having to read the sub titles. I mean, oh boo hoo they actually have to read! It's just ridiculous. And even more ridiculous to then throw critisisms at the Japanese language and original form of the anime because they are lazy. Funimation has posted this anime FOR FREE! That's very generous of them!
@AdvertChild98 Of course, you could always learn how to speak Japanese. I mean, it is a Japanese show. If you want an all english american show then watch one.
@BlueNeko1 How narrow-minded. If ppl have to learn to speak Japnese in order to understand anime, then no one would even bother watching it in the first place. If you want anime strictly be a Japanese thing only, why even bother to sell them to overseas market? No one would be stupid enough to spend years to learn a language just for watching anime. That big fat ego would only fail anime business. You seem to be vey ungrateful for what the English dubbs have contributed for the success of anime.
@BlueNeko1 In Japan, they also dub and sub TV shows and movies originated from Hollywood. US ppl seem to have no problem with the Japanese dubbing their stuff. On the other hand, I have to say dubbing Japanese for English-language shows seem to be very strange. It's normal that ppl don't understand Japanese language, but English is an international language. Japan is no 3rd world country should've had enough education to handle English, but that isn't the case.
@AdvertChild98 Why do people seem to think that no matter where they go they will find the english language spoken. Try going to France, for example, and ask them to speak in english for you and they will laugh in your face. Yes, the Japanese speak some english but perhaps not to the level you might think. I'm just trying to explain to you that it is a LUXURY that people from other countries around the world lend us North Americans copyright to do anything with their stuff.
@BlueNeko1 Excuse me, English is part of the major course module around the world, No one expects the french should speak English, but we do expect they should at least understand. If they don't, sorry they are village ppl. Same go for Japan. Don't forget Japanese should also thank North American markets where make anime business gotten bigger around the world.
@AdvertChild98 Let me give you a little reminder about how economics work. Japan takes the risk of LOOSING money by lending North Americans their shows. This is because of the economic problems of late and the decrease in value of the US doller. They make far more money, more than enough to sustain the anime industries in Japan, from selling to places in China, Korea and Europe, who don't demand dubbs, which are very expensive to produce. So it is UNGRATEFUL for people to complain.
@BlueNeko1 Sorry your economic analysis has failed. 1st, Japan doesn't lend their shows to us, they sold the rights to us to distribute anime. 2nd. The value of dollars decreases and we still have high demand for anime, so it's US in disavantage because we have to pay more for licensing the shows. So who's exactly taking risks here if the shows don't sell well? Also don't fool yourself. European markets also dub and sub Japanese stuff like we do. It's not ungrateful, it's natural thing to do.
@AdvertChild98 CONTINUING MY LAST REPLY: It is only because the Otaku sub culture has grown larger of late that Japan has decided to lend more copyright for more shows like Spice And Wolf to the US to air on TV and sell. Companies like VIZ or Funimation are in existance because of the late increase of Otaku culture. They work to re-air anime, manga and much more. Dubbing was common before in the 80s when North America had more money, but now US anime comapnies are struggling to stay open.
@BlueNeko1 Dubbing helped make anime introduced in North American markets in the 70s. Sure many companies have been struggling now, but anime is still 10x more popular than two decades ago when ppl didn't even have a clue what anime was. The most popular anime titles like DBZ, FMA, etc. in US today are dubbed in English. That proves how important dubbing had helped increase the popularity of anime. No matter how you view dubbing, it won't change the fact that it's part of anime success.
@AdvertChild98 CONTINUING MY LAST TWO REPLYS: You can take the collapse of Geneon as an example of the bad economy and the struggles of the US anime companies of late. Most animes don't even make their way to the US anymore because they would not do well with or without dubs. Alot of Japan's interest in the US Otaku communities has also to do with improving tourism to Japan. Many Otaku save up to viset Japan after learning to love their culture.
@BlueNeko1 Geneon collapsed because of multi-reasons. I heard that they got legal problems back in Japan. However, one thing is certain is dubbing had nothing to do with their close down. If it weren't for dubbing, I doubt they could've survived for so long before even collapsing. Funimation always dubs their stuff and has become the most successful company. It has to do with their smart business strategy and wise choice selection of anime.
@AdvertChild98 There is a fragile existance in the economy of anime between Japan and the US. But I am sure that there was more than one reason for Geneon. Maybe a better example would have been the Shojo Beat magazine, which VIZ no longer had the money to continue to produce as well as producing the graphic novel volumes. My point being that business between Japan and the US is unstable. It is only with dubbing AND the subs that it is even pulled off. Not just one or the other.
@BlueNeko1 Without dubbing, the sales in the states would be even less. Funimation's success has much to do with their dubbing efforts despite of the poor economy. Dubbing is also good for Japanese viewers. Japanese have very low english skills. Perhaps they are the weakest compared to Chinese and Koreans. Besides, English is a core module for students in Japan, so English-dubbed anime could provide good learning experience for any asian otaku who want to improve English to pass exam.
@BlueNeko1 If I were Japanese, I would buy anime from the US. Not only US distributed anime is much cheaper than Japan's, but also I could learn English. You know every time I hear Japanese sing or try to speak english in anime, I have to hide my face. Just can't take it. Japanese otaku and studenst could gain more advantages from Enlgish-dubbed anime than they could imagine. Perhpas their parents would approve they buy anime because they could learn English to get good grades at school. ^ ^
@AdvertChild98 However, people like the one's complaining only care about their own culture. they don't save up to go to Japan because they only care something if it is dropped at their doorstep in their own laguage. So in alot of ways they hurt the anime Industries meaning LESS anime for us in the future! In reality watching anime on Youtube for free like this really hurts the anime industries as well. It is a really GENEROUS thing that Funimation has done right here for us.
@BlueNeko1 I can't say for everyone. Personally I enjoy dub more than sub, not because I don't care about Japanese culture, it's because dubbing help me free from having to read subtitles so that I could fully focus on beautiful graphics in anime & it's very outragous that you think we should spend our saving to visit Japan just to show our gratitue. U suppose Japanese would do the same when they watch an American movie? Those who buy anime have helped anime industries, what more do you want?
@AdvertChild98 You missunderstand. Not out of gratitude. But because they have come to have real interest in the Japanese culture. Many tourists come from Japan to viset the US. I'm not sure how the US boosts tourism rates in Japan, I just know some things about how the anime industries work here. Because anime is the most popular connection North Americans have right now to Japan, you see? People learn of Japanese culture by watching anime. Then, they seek out more ways to learn after that.
@BlueNeko1 Not very practical 2 expect every fan who are interested in anime should have interest in Japanese culture since ppl don't think in the same way. Some watch anime for fun, research or recommendations. The same go for Japanese audience who watch American movies don't have 2 have an interest in American culture. If Japan wants their anime sales higher overseas, then should let oversea markets market their stuff in accordance with local culture & business strategy. This is business sense
@BlueNeko1 I doubt those free anime uploaded by Funimation have hurt their business. Besides, ppl love anime would buy it no matter what. Those anime moochers, no matter what cost, would not spend a dime on anime anyway so we can ignore them. The main objective is to please the real fans. Funimation really is generous, so they deserve every success. My least favourite company is Viz. I am still pissed that they refuse to release more Monster box sets and delays Inu Yasha Final Act releases!
What you idiots don't understand about anime is that it is a SUB CULTURE. It's called the "Otaku Culture" Otaku is a underground trend in a specific group of people. Along with anime and manga, the love of the Japanese language and Asian cultures in general also makes up this sub culture. It's true that because of english dubbing anime by itself has come more into a mainstreamed spotlight, but not nearly enough to stand on it's own without the Otaku.
@BlueNeko1 You know as long as we pay a price for the anime we have already contributed a fair share of support to Japanese cutlure or otaku culture whatever you call it. Meanwhile, once I pay the price I would make sure I can fully enjoy the show as much as possible. Subtitles are very distracting as they shift my attentions away from graphics, which shouldn't happen. If i want to read, I will grap a book or manga but if I watch a movie or anime, I will make sure my eyes are on pics not words.
The only reason ppl prefer japanese dubs so much is because it's Japanese anime. Without english dubbing, I doubt anime would've been as successful as today. To put it simply, no one would give a rat ass about anime if it weren't for dubbing. A small portion of Japanese-dubbed supporters would not change anything. Let's face it, the English dubs make much more sense than the Japanese.
@AdvertChild98 English dubbing became an option because anime got popular with english speaking people first, not because it was introduced to us. Basically, regular Japanese anime had a small slot in the late hours of night first. Then people became a little more interested in it and they released english dubbed titles onto DVD. The more attention was paid to that and it grew from there. However, the hardcore anime lovers still love the original versions just as they were intended to be.
@BlueNeko1 I don't think so. Anime as a foreign product managed to have breakthrough in North America because dubbing helped introduce and popularize it. Most ppl here would not bother to watch something they don't even understand, which explain why foreign films with substitltes usually fail in the box office in the States. Similarily the majority of anime purchasers still prefer English dubs as they prefer focusing on graphics while watching instead of reading words.
Yo... this anime is to good... you would think that the climax to season two is this.. and we are only 3 episodes into season 2... such good stuff yo... my second time watching this series since like... 1 year ago.. Such brilliant stuff.
@Brad25255 I would say that the dub and japanese dub both did a splended job! The female voice of Holo (Or is it spelled Horo?) in the japanese version matches her childish side perfecectly while the english voice fits for her mature side.
As a guy, I completely got sucked into Lawrence's mindset. Imagining Holo falling into bed with Amarti without understanding that Holo was helping him the entire time. Guys think that way so it was a complete turnaround when Holo revealed what she did.
Lawrence ..... im going to say this one time and one time only but i hate that blonde headed boy more than i hate ads sooo FUCKING BURN HIS HOME DOWN AND THEN KILL HIM WITH HIS OWN FISH...
@GreatFredThe They are trying to make cash. If they released all the episodes for free now, why would anyone want to buy the season 2 dvd's coming out?
@tylermurschel unless you want the fan-dubbed versions, which typically are not all that great, then it's not out yet, should be soon, as they already have episode 2 out in dub
Wow u tube failed again. they made the dub of this ep ma bc holo said make love tome -_-

AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 CONTINUING MY LAST REPLY: It is only because the Otaku sub culture has grown larger of late that Japan has decided to lend more copyright for more shows like Spice And Wolf to the US to air on TV and sell. Companies like VIZ or Funimation are in existance because of the late increase of Otaku culture. They work to re-air anime, manga and much more. Dubbing was common before in the 80s when North America had more money, but now US anime comapnies are struggling to stay open.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 Dubbing helped make anime introduced in North American markets in the 70s. Sure many companies have been struggling now, but anime is still 10x more popular than two decades ago when ppl didn't even have a clue what anime was. The most popular anime titles like DBZ, FMA, etc. in US today are dubbed in English. That proves how important dubbing had helped increase the popularity of anime. No matter how you view dubbing, it won't change the fact that it's part of anime success.
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 CONTINUING MY LAST TWO REPLYS: You can take the collapse of Geneon as an example of the bad economy and the struggles of the US anime companies of late. Most animes don't even make their way to the US anymore because they would not do well with or without dubs. Alot of Japan's interest in the US Otaku communities has also to do with improving tourism to Japan. Many Otaku save up to viset Japan after learning to love their culture.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 Geneon collapsed because of multi-reasons. I heard that they got legal problems back in Japan. However, one thing is certain is dubbing had nothing to do with their close down. If it weren't for dubbing, I doubt they could've survived for so long before even collapsing. Funimation always dubs their stuff and has become the most successful company. It has to do with their smart business strategy and wise choice selection of anime.
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 There is a fragile existance in the economy of anime between Japan and the US. But I am sure that there was more than one reason for Geneon. Maybe a better example would have been the Shojo Beat magazine, which VIZ no longer had the money to continue to produce as well as producing the graphic novel volumes. My point being that business between Japan and the US is unstable. It is only with dubbing AND the subs that it is even pulled off. Not just one or the other.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 Without dubbing, the sales in the states would be even less. Funimation's success has much to do with their dubbing efforts despite of the poor economy. Dubbing is also good for Japanese viewers. Japanese have very low english skills. Perhaps they are the weakest compared to Chinese and Koreans. Besides, English is a core module for students in Japan, so English-dubbed anime could provide good learning experience for any asian otaku who want to improve English to pass exam.
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 If I were Japanese, I would buy anime from the US. Not only US distributed anime is much cheaper than Japan's, but also I could learn English. You know every time I hear Japanese sing or try to speak english in anime, I have to hide my face. Just can't take it. Japanese otaku and studenst could gain more advantages from Enlgish-dubbed anime than they could imagine. Perhpas their parents would approve they buy anime because they could learn English to get good grades at school. ^ ^
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 However, people like the one's complaining only care about their own culture. they don't save up to go to Japan because they only care something if it is dropped at their doorstep in their own laguage. So in alot of ways they hurt the anime Industries meaning LESS anime for us in the future! In reality watching anime on Youtube for free like this really hurts the anime industries as well. It is a really GENEROUS thing that Funimation has done right here for us.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 I can't say for everyone. Personally I enjoy dub more than sub, not because I don't care about Japanese culture, it's because dubbing help me free from having to read subtitles so that I could fully focus on beautiful graphics in anime & it's very outragous that you think we should spend our saving to visit Japan just to show our gratitue. U suppose Japanese would do the same when they watch an American movie? Those who buy anime have helped anime industries, what more do you want?
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 You missunderstand. Not out of gratitude. But because they have come to have real interest in the Japanese culture. Many tourists come from Japan to viset the US. I'm not sure how the US boosts tourism rates in Japan, I just know some things about how the anime industries work here. Because anime is the most popular connection North Americans have right now to Japan, you see? People learn of Japanese culture by watching anime. Then, they seek out more ways to learn after that.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 Not very practical 2 expect every fan who are interested in anime should have interest in Japanese culture since ppl don't think in the same way. Some watch anime for fun, research or recommendations. The same go for Japanese audience who watch American movies don't have 2 have an interest in American culture. If Japan wants their anime sales higher overseas, then should let oversea markets market their stuff in accordance with local culture & business strategy. This is business sense
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 I doubt those free anime uploaded by Funimation have hurt their business. Besides, ppl love anime would buy it no matter what. Those anime moochers, no matter what cost, would not spend a dime on anime anyway so we can ignore them. The main objective is to please the real fans. Funimation really is generous, so they deserve every success. My least favourite company is Viz. I am still pissed that they refuse to release more Monster box sets and delays Inu Yasha Final Act releases!
AdvertChild98 5 months ago
What you idiots don't understand about anime is that it is a SUB CULTURE. It's called the "Otaku Culture" Otaku is a underground trend in a specific group of people. Along with anime and manga, the love of the Japanese language and Asian cultures in general also makes up this sub culture. It's true that because of english dubbing anime by itself has come more into a mainstreamed spotlight, but not nearly enough to stand on it's own without the Otaku.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago

AdvertChild98 5 months ago
@AdvertChild98 English dubbing became an option because anime got popular with english speaking people first, not because it was introduced to us. Basically, regular Japanese anime had a small slot in the late hours of night first. Then people became a little more interested in it and they released english dubbed titles onto DVD. The more attention was paid to that and it grew from there. However, the hardcore anime lovers still love the original versions just as they were intended to be.
BlueNeko1 5 months ago
@BlueNeko1 I don't think so. Anime as a foreign product managed to have breakthrough in North America because dubbing helped introduce and popularize it. Most ppl here would not bother to watch something they don't even understand, which explain why foreign films with substitltes usually fail in the box office in the States. Similarily the majority of anime purchasers still prefer English dubs as they prefer focusing on graphics while watching instead of reading words.

@Brad25255 I would say that the dub and japanese dub both did a splended job! The female voice of Holo (Or is it spelled Horo?) in the japanese version matches her childish side perfecectly while the english voice fits for her mature side.
UltraAnimaniac101 5 months ago
@Brad25255 Much better than the dub. The dub is great, yes, but the actress for Holo in the Japanese is amazing.

As a guy, I completely got sucked into Lawrence's mindset. Imagining Holo falling into bed with Amarti without understanding that Holo was helping him the entire time. Guys think that way so it was a complete turnaround when Holo revealed what she did.
