How does fast guitar translate into best guitar? Why does everyone make that lame association?? There are so many aspects to playing any instrument....speed is one in a hundred variables to be admired. Clearly this young man has got red hot chops where speed is considered, but this video does nothing more than showcase speed. Writing, phrasing, tone, energy, etc...are other considerations. I agree with you, however, you cant judge the quality of a guitarist solely on their mechanical talents with the instrument. You also have to take into account their ability to write; some of the considered "greatest guitarists in the world" simply wrote amazingly; Tonny Iomi, Angus Young, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, etc. the point is the ability to write a compelling song needs to be aparent; now im not saying this guy is the worlds greatest but hes deffinitly something special.

This kid has incredible techniques, but that's all he's got right now. I have probably 1/2 the technical skill of this kid, but I can definitely do the emotions. Playing guitar is like fucking, you can do it as fast as you can (alt speed picking, sweeping, multi fingeer tap), and the women (or man, Im not asome sort of bigot) might like it or might hate it, but, sometimes if you slow down and do things a little differently (8th notes or even quarter trips, and a well placed pinch.) She loves it.

No there's a big diff. being a guitar player myself and having mastered alot of the shred Neoclassical, harmonic minor stuff know that it's alot harder to make anything with real feeling. Most of that stuff is just scale exercises anyway.

Extremely good, but unfortunately I think this style is about played out. Still a treat for guitar fans.
A little too much focus on speed for the sake of speed, though. Needs more depth to have a wider appeal.
