hey ryan, its been a while,, how have you been? i posted a video response to this.. few mistakes here and there but i managed to get through it.. hope you like it mate
Digital - he's referenced it before, but none the less you could tell by the length alone. It'd take a room of very large proportions with reflective surfaces to produce anywhere near that. =)
The latter tune brought the movie "Secret of Roan Inish" instantly to mind. It's so playful and you perform it so well. I think I've watched all your videos and it's time to dust off the whistle again myself. Thanks for the inspiration and instruction.
that was indeed beautiful. a lot of my friends say that Irish whistles are annoying....but when played like this, one would have to be insane to think so. I loved it.
I often suggest beginners use Generation Nickel-plated D tin whistles. Surely one could buy an expensive whistle, but if you're unable/unwilling to make a big investment, these $10.00 beauties are really quite fine.
I have a lot to learn. I can understand how to do roll for example, but fitting into music is another story. It seems like there's just enough space to fill it in, but I find it difficult to keep the music flowing with rolls.
I see. I use audacity to record to whistlethis and it has a GVerb, but I haven't tweeked it enough to get the desired effect.
When you first look a a piece do you memorize the music the way its written and then add the rolls cuts ect, or do you just know and add them in when ever you feel like?
I use iMovie's program and just add a touch of reverb. I have to edit the videos (there is construction outside of my window) and the editing process leaves the sound flat, necessitating a bit of a touch-up!
I'm glad to hear that the instructional videos are helping. If there is any way for me to improve them, please don't hesitate to make suggestions.
Thank you! It sounds fantastic. I was wondering, how do you get that echo effect on your recording? By the way, I've been practicing the tin whistle through your videos and am learning a lot.
Thanks father, if you ever give up your day job, I suggest you'd go far with that whistle, its in your soul.

Lovely playing, lovely tunes.
But are you playing through a digital reverb or are they natural acoustics?
Cheers.

I love this song and you do it great justice. Where can one find online (pref.free) sheetmusic for butterfly?

I don't think I can enter web addresses here, but whack "the session" into Google (with or without quotes) and go to the first site that comes up.

You, sir, are amazing. If you play this beautifully with half a mouth, I can't imagine what you sound like with a whole mouth. Very nice sound.

Beautiful! I've subscribed to your videos and look forward to learning to play. Is there any particular type of tinwhistle you would recommend?
