my grandad has alzhimers, and i know how all you others feel.
Hes not died yet, thank god, but he is in a care home, and its horrible to watch him slowly dying to this terrible illness that no one can get rid of, it breaks your heart..
i love my grandad, and when this day comes, i will be at his funeral, missing him already</3.
Oh I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my favorite great aunt to it about a year or so ago...I'm glad it's over for her, but I miss her like crazy. It's an ugly disease. Hopefully by the time we get to that age it will be able to be cured.
@GeminiAuntie he died last year. It was very sad but he had gotten progressively worse. I spoke at the funeral and cremation about his life. I would like to connect what I said to the film, somehow, because he was a very interesting man.
I believe it can be genetic, but treatments are only getting better.
I guess he is also hallucinating. It just puzzles me how the brain can degenerate so badly and still the very core stuff is left. I would imagine when this happened the brain would just die and stop working and the body would die.
Is this expressed as a different form of dementia as well as alzheimers? The hand touching and buxia (jaw grinding) doesn't seem standard. Its weird, sometimes there is apathy too, almost like someone is in a dream like trance in another world. This makes me belive unfortunatly that sufferers are very awake and very aware of whats going on. They're thoughts are corrupted they still are alive inside, cant communicate, they obviously remember things that happened long ago as it had just been.
"See you later, I'm going to the movies..."
