Higurashi was just one anime I couldn't get into, hell I was REALLY enjoying the first 4 episodes they were great and kept me on my toes. But once Shion/Mion crap started my interest died VERY quickly. I watched 10 episodes and then just gave up.
It was the only anime where I just went and looked at spoilers cause I know I won't be going back to it ever again.
i want to mention that the fma here was made before the manga ended, therefore has a drastically different second half. The fma brotherhood, which follows the manga, is much more compelling (in my opinion)
The thing with Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni is that if u continue past 26 into Higurashi no Naku koro ni KAI, you learn the truth about the first season!!!!
I'm having some problems finding all the episodes of "Fullmetal Alchemist" are there any good sides to see the episodes. I can't seem to find the full episode 1.
Have you seen a show called Monster? Its definately one of my favorite animes of all time. Its a serious anime and what seperates it from so many anime is that it looks real and has situations that can happen in real life. The villian is also one of the most evil mofos I've ever seen. He has no true motive for what he does. Its 74 eps long but really engaging. Every character even the lesser ones have deep personallity and depth.
My top would be..... Gankutsuou The Count of Monte Cristo Baccanno Death Note Raxephon Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Cowboy Bebop Monster One Piece X TV Ghost in the Shell
I like the sound of Narutaru and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, they have some wierd and bizare sounding storylines at first but they seem to gel well together and I can't wait to read the manga versions of them because it seems that the Manga versions could be better and more deeper than the anime versions of both of them.
Higurashi is the kind of show I think you either adore or you hate. It's rather sick and sadistic, but in all of the right ways. Plus, it doesn't really have that sort of "Rob Zombie" feeling where the stories and characters end up collapsing under the sadism. Now that I think about it... I think I laugh at the suffering of anime characters more than I probably should. I found most of the deaths in "When They Cry" to be hilarious. I need help.
Impressive how you liked Hugurashi. For me it is one of the worst animes of all time. Oh, you liked One Outs, then you should watch Giant Killing. It is a anime from the new season (it is on its 3 episode now). It is about a very strange manager that is going to turn a small and bad soccer team into a great team, That why the name is "Giant Killing": he will 'kill' the big soccer teams LOL. It is pretty much like One Outs; it is a sport anime, but all about a brilliant mind planning tactics.
@TrappedInAlaska i was talking about brotherhood. its much darker than the original with the exception of eds mom being sloth in that one. most of the characters who wern't filler have died just like they did back in that one. snake girl and hughes both died the same way as they did in the previous fma. but we also have them going over eds fathers past and why he left along with hawkeyes sad history ect
@TeenChibi Many of the series on this list have great comedic moments (at least 3 out of 5 on this one are extremely funny at times) but there aren't too many anime shows in general that are pure comedy that I think are amazing. There's a few though.
@neverchris HMm I wonder u can memorize that funny momments ever seen's your watching a large of anime.. actually i agree on your reply. but infact i dont watch Elfen Lied Im just watching Romance anime with comedy and action with romance anime..
Yet another reason why I must watch Higurashi: When They Cry.
I've been avoiding One Outs because I thought it was in fact was a Baseball Series. Though the twist of the gambling aspect may turn my head around.
FMA is a series I always loved, it's mix of Comedy, Action, Drama, and Tragedy transitioned from one to the other greatly. I seen a few episodes of Brotherhood, and it looks to focus on the comedy and action a bit more.
i really want to watch one outs. i hear you talk about it before. now i want to watch Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. i also like fma. brootherhood is ok but its kinda just watching the same thing but a little diffenrt but then again i only seen two episodes of the brootherhood. great video
Sorry but Full metal alchemist is horrible. I have heard that "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" is alot better though, that series actually follows the manga..
The original Full metal alchemist anime is just boring filler bullshit.
As expected, more psychological anime. Guess we won't be seeing any light comedies, then? I really expected you to place Higurashi higher, though. If Kaiji is at number eleven though, then Akagi's got to be in the top ten, right?
11 seems interesting. I'll probably check that one (and 13) out after I'm done w/ my current anime (and when I'm caught up w/ video games, hw, etc...)
Do you prefer the first FMA over the second one (Brotherhood)? I enjoy the darker, more somber atmosphere of the first FMA over the happier Brotherhood, but both are good.
I found higurashi fun, but it is one of those anime where marathoning it will bore you (atleast it did for me). People should still watch it if they haven't
@clearwater04 I only watched about half of Kai. I would have finished Kai, but for some reason I started something else, and soon I forgot about it completely.
With school almost finished I'm starting to get more free time, so I think I'll be caught up w/ anime and video games by the end of May.
oh god his voice disturbs me..

some of those animes suck ass in my opinion but everyone has their own
obviously our taste is much different because you like Death Note
a lot of people like Death Note but as clever and genius as a lot of it is the only character i cared about was Ryuk and they hardly ever show him
Light was smart as hell but other than that i didn't like him at all.... hes just a plain dick with no comical or interesting qualities
hes like a dude straight out of a hentai
plain assage ;D
