StarCraft II is way more balanced than the original game. I mean in the original it took you ages to destroy a building, and you could only command 16 or so troops at a time! Plus, the population limit also sucked. Well IMO I liked SC2 a lot more than the first one. Just my 2 cents.

Being able to select more units is not the same as (building) a bigger army if that's what you meant. It just means that in brood war you had you manage your army better due to the cap of 12.

You can't say this game is all about tactics (for example, Company of Heroes is a tactical RTS - you use cover, flanking tactics etc). If there's no real tactical situations in an RTS, I see no point in selecting only a small number of units (like in the first StarCraft), if you get my point.

yeah well I think the multiplayer aspect sucks anyway. It's all about crappy micro management and crappy annoyance and scouting tactics which are not necessarily easy. If you think about it, the way it's designed...with all the multi-tasking it's more for a girl's brain. Considering that most of the story is filler involving a Rastafarian assassin and a redneck Cuban, I feel quite ripped off. At least the gameplay is great, and the multi-player certainly does no disappoint...neither does the graphics. Maybe they should have focused on the REAL story rather than giving us these "new and exciting ways to explore the *giggle* BACKSTORY" ;-D

The original idea for Warhammer 40k as a tabletop game started in 1987. The development for Starcraft started in 1995. Though the Warhammer 40k franchise is older, Starcraft is older as a video game.

I have SC2 and it is amazing, but that whole lan thing is just stupidity on blizzards part. Also the online mode just feels so stale and lonely. There are no chatrooms. Apart from that, its an amazing game.
I want to know how they are going to continue the StarCraft universe after the Protoss expansion pack... I just hope they don't make like a World of StarCraft MMORPG. I think this game series is good enough as a RTS and makes you think carefully about what could happen if you choose to attack/ defend in certain ways on the harder difficulty on the campaigns and online.

SC2 too is fun, but in all honestly Blizzards way of trying to make more profit made me return the game, I'm back to playing SC1, I'm already having bad feelings of what's going to become of Diablo III

Blizzard could make a fortune by making supposed Professional Editions of Starcraft 2, which would come with LAN support for professional competition in countries like South Korea. Now the professionals in Korea won't even touch Starcraft 2 because the slightest B.Net lag will set them off and away from the game.

Didn't you hear that you will only be able to play in multiplayer with those people who have the same number expansion packs as you do? And you will have only 1/3 of the campaigns without the expansion packs, And you won't have all the units with no expansion packs.

The original idea for Warhammer 40k as a tabletop game started in 1987. The development for Starcraft started in 1995. Though the Warhammer 40k franchise is older, Starcraft is older as a video game.

the game is far from perfect, specially the story.....i know starcraft came first, but they are pulling the mass effect/reapers thing only with the xel naga, the original starcraft story was much better, oh yeah and that shit they do to Karrigan at the end is BS......the game is still addicting as crack tho,i just don't like how they dont get professional writters to make a better story for us......

I have SC2 and it is amazing, but that whole lan thing is just stupidity on blizzards part. Also the online mode just feels so stale and lonely. There are no chatrooms. Apart from that, its an amazing game.

I want to know how they are going to continue the StarCraft universe after the Protoss expansion pack... I just hope they don't make like a World of StarCraft MMORPG. I think this game series is good enough as a RTS and makes you think carefully about what could happen if you choose to attack/ defend in certain ways on the harder difficulty on the campaigns and online.
