  • Ok, first off, Geeky girl = adorable. That is something that the super sexy blond chicks dont have. If someone shares something with you so deep that you spend hours kicking each others ass in Mortal Kombat, or WOW or whatever, thats something special you share. No matter how hot someone may be, having something in common with someone, that special thing that brings you closer together. I dont know about others, but i think cute and adorable, beats hot. Adorable is a personality, hot is looks.

  • Aww, I think this vid is a little bit unfair.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that geek girls are great and awesome and all that, but speaking as a Non-Geek who has dated Geeks, I think telling them to only go for the Geek girls is a bit of a limiting field. I don't expect any guy I'm involved with to like all the things I like, nor do I expect to like all of his quirks. But its the differences that make it fun, and the similarities that make it comforting.

  • i agree. this was made about two years ago, and I think a lot differently now, but I am not sure I am ready to delete it. thanks for the thoughts.

  • I myself am a techno geek. Not as extreme as some but I revel in my oddities and uniqueness. I finally met the geek girl of my life (hell she got me into WoW) and we are engaged as well as have a beautiful 3 month old daughter named Winter Rose. Winter already has a love for games. She sits in my lap and watches the screen intently. So it can happen if you keep an open mind. Just remember to look deeper than the physical.

  • I am a male geek guilty of this hot girl complex. I've driven myself into the depths of loneliness due to my unsatiable appetite for attractive women. Unfortunately it doesn't last long when I do find one because when I talk to them, its like a brick wall! I think its just a sign that I haven't found the one yet. The right woman for me doesn't have to have the perfect body OR the perfect mind, but I still would like to have a little of both.

  • Still on the look out for a geeky girl friend, sadly it's harder than it seems =P

  • go to gaming tournaments, game conventions, technical highschools or colleges, NoA, and Microsoft, thousands!!!!, oh and most nerds love competition and will settle for any girl whether be pretty, nice, smart or funny. This hot girl who cant date for 2 yrs, AHHHHHH, actually likes me, WOOOO

  • Ive had a small problem finding a bf or gf due to my nerdiness. Once they find out a little more about me its gets pretty bad, like I can really competitive gaming when I was dating a gamer guy wed argue over the game to the point of which we wouldnt talk to one another but see who can pwn who the most then hate one another for like 3 days depending on who won XD so Im a loner and I spend my time on WoW

  • Its not called Hot Girl Complex, its called selection of fittest.

  • ...kinda like survival of the fittest, I guess. Call it what you will. It happens, and it causes more grief than good.

  • i like im addicted to sex. im so horny right now. someone sex me up! D

  • I have only one reaction to this lol.

I don't come across as a geek, but once guys like my ex break the surface they realise just how bad it is. Now you guys say that you've never encountered one, but you're never going to be sure, girls can mix fashion and beauty with it too! Now, unfortunately, in my case the guys that realised accepted it, were glad of it, but it made it hard to have an intimate relationship when we were so competitive game-wise. If you could help this problem, great!

  • eh?

  • Very cool, I need to find more geeky girl friends!

  • this was actually a good video response. It's unfortunate most geeks never encounter another geeky girl. I mean I never leave my cave, so our chances gotta be slim. :P

  • Maybe the reason we go after girl we don't relate too is because their actually, you know, good looking?

  • Imagine this: You're at a grocery store buying food when a fat ugly guy comes up to you and starts talking about what a great cook he is, then goes on to explain how he can cook instant noodles and TV dinners. This is what girl gamers sound like to guys.

  • I dunno, I know a lot of girl gamers that have excellent taste in games. Just depends on where you shop, I guess.

  • I am a geek. I played WOW until I worked out that PVP was the only thing left and hell I'm an RPGer so why bother. I subsequently bought Morrowind.

I play D&D as both a player and a DM. I keep a die in my purse. I am a DDR Mistress etc. etc.

However, I AM a Cheerleader. Well, actually dance team but same difference ya?

This has made no difference. I have asked out every guy I have ever dated myself. You just can't win. I swear, I'm posting an ad for myself on digg. That might work.

  • Is it so hard to play an Online Game without giving your Gender away?

    Eat shit and die, Mongrel.

  • Yeah. I am pretty sure most women on games are actually 15 year old boys...but it is fun to form roaving hordes of ladies. hmmm. k thanks.

  • Mortal Kombat is shit, a girl that would kick your ass at Guilty Gear though... oooh boy

  • I would love to find a geeky girl and, these things you claim "guy geeks" are doing are done back to them as well. God I can't tell you how many times i've been forced into the friend zone. Some guy geeks are pricks, not all of them are into stupid cheerleading types.

Also, "beating them at their own game" is one of the problems. Sure its fine to win against a guy, but most girl geeks seem to have a personal mission to prove their geekyness by beating guys at their obsession. Its a turn off.

  • It's mortal kombat.

  • wicked sweet video...there is nothing wrong with a tech-girl/nerd, they are so much smarter and fun to hang out and be with then snobby girls that live solely on their looks

  • Nah that's your opinion, but imo snobby girls are more fun because they actually have interesting things to talk about. Like social events, compared to killing tk'ers and noobs.

  • the thing's she talk about are freakin sweet.... lucky couple

  • you have a Super Nintendo! Sweet!

  • "what's so good about beeing normal" good question!

  • sweet, thoughtful and very interesting response.

gay geeks are one of nature's wonders :)

  • im a geek i love retro games i also love computers Mac or PC and i would love to meet a geek girl

  • Oh Darling. I love you. This video is wonderful... And, so true. Who really wants to date a guy anyways... I say let them waist there time on the dumb cheerleaders... We're far to good for them anyway... and Gay but you know!

  • i could date you :)

  • If the other person is willing to accept you (not forced to), they're just as good (sometimes better) than someone just like you.

That's because you can share experiences that you'd never experience with someone just like you, which makes life a little more interesting.

I'd pick a geek girl over a hot girl who won't accept me as I am, but I'd choose the hot girl who truly accepts me and sees past my external personalities and see my true, inner persona.

    But that's just me. ;)

  • To elaborate on "external" and "inner" personalities, external personalities are hobbies and habits and inner personalities are your beliefs and your emotions.

So, being a nerd/geek doesn't mean that you can't be compatible with a non-nerd/geek. It just means that there are different external layers to yourself than to others, but, usually, inner personalities are mutual.

  • I've never really known any nerdy girls. I don't mean nerdy as in uses msn knows some memes and plays sims(no offense, its just that when its the only game thennn...). I mean one that would be excited for the release of a new game or OS, one that doesn't think 5am is a weird time to still be awake at, and I guess doesn't find it odd to spend an entire day on their computer. I assumed I was just too picky.

  • It is strange that we live in a "nerd culture". Pretty much everyone, especially girls, seem to think they are nerdy. In a world of I-Pods, mac books, Guitar Hero, pink PSPs, the Wii, etc. It is not uncommon to hear people exclaiming "OMG I AM SO NERDY!" Most have a working knowledge of technology. It is hip to be nerdy, but as usual, culture doesn't seem to enjoy extremes.

  • Sadly, a lot of times game girls seem to be in their basements playing games... As usual, the girls that talk about how nerdy they are seem to be in public, while the girl gamers are sitting in basements! But, it is generally seems wise to ignore us and them mentality. I have met some wonderfully hardcore girl gamers, hopefully you will too! Thanks for the comment, made me think a lot.

  • Excellent video! I love my wife with all my heart, but she will never be a geek. That's OK though, I think I'm geeky enough for the both of us. :)

    Later... Richard

  • sorry as a gamer/pc dude but i just hate teh words geek need ect its fucking gamer

  • It is truly terrible. I think it refers to a carnival performer that bites the head off of chickens. I often wonder how it game to be used to describe techy people. Maybe that could be another video.

  • The old nerd vs. geek question. Here is the simple answer that most seem to agree on. A nerd is a socially inept person, whereas a geek is a socially inept person with a skill IE biting the head off a chicken, which is why you will find most techies consider themselves geeks.

  • Wow. Thanks.

  • Almost what I have seen most accepted, but with one difference: a nerd is a socially inept person (with or without skill) and a Geek is a socially twisted, but not entirely inept, person WITH skill. Anyone read the book "Geeks" by Jon Katz?

  • "We recently bought matching external hard-drives." That was the hottest thing I've ever heard. Awesome. Neat-o vid.

  • nice video

  • awesome. so awesome.

  • thank you muchly!
