  • nice utah..

  • My mother was in the NFL with Merlin -- the National Forensic League at good 'Ol Logan High School. She tells me that he was brilliant. RIP!

  • Him and my grandpa were good friends. my grandpa played football and basketball against him in high school. then at USU they went to school together. they would skip class together and go play ping pong. my grandpa remembers in high school playing football with him. he said that my grandpa was supposed to block merlin but he could not seem to move him. the running back ran behind my grandpa and merlin put his arms around my grandpa and the RB and all three of them went to the ground.

  • I am honored and priviledged to have met this fine man in the summer of 1993 as a teenage "football loving" kid!!! Our paths crossed in the hallways of the Opryland Hotel in Nashville while Merlin was there for an "FTD" Convention... He was super polite, and made a TALL teenager (6-02) at the time, FEEL SMALL!!! What a fine man!!! God Speed Merlin!!!

  • A great football player, sportscaster, actor, but also a real gentleman who truly cared about people. God bless you, Merlin. We'll miss you. May you rest in peace.

  • His passing is a great Rams and NFL loss. One extraordinary DT, one exemplary individual, truly. Thanks for placing this video here, USU.

  • God bless you Merlin

  • long live the legend. gone but not forgotten. he will be missed

  • Farewell, Merlin. You'll be missed.

  • RIP Merlin
