@sober420er Typically, some people wear motorcycle helmets for downhill skateboarding, but with the new innovative designs coming out on the market today, we are starting to wear helmets specifically for DH. I know some friends who mainly go for looks and get a paragliding helmet. They look epic, but beware, they are very fragile!

I think gloves are the most important out of any of the safety gear

@carson0425 i dont know about that. Sliding gloves protect your hands. But the helmet protects the area that tells you to longboard. Helmet is clearly more important

@larkinIsNotARealWord of course they are just in my opinion and from my experience of ridding for a few years (6) ive come to realizeall my falls i hurt my hands and never my head.... and i never wear gear...call me dumb idc..... so i invested in gloves recently about 3 months ago and havent got hurt since ***knock on wood***

I really wanna learn how to longboard and so does my friend.... We realy don't get along with any longboarders anymore. So there is really no one to teach us. We live in Virginia. Do you think we could teach ourselves. I've been on a longboard at least 3 times. I dont jump off screaming like a foul. I'm pretty good at turns. I've been on skateboars before too. But i think wanna longboard =/
