You need to be taught properly the classic interpretations, and the principles of interpretation under scholars. Usually this results with a degree of some sort.
That is to interpret it yourself. To just understand then one may refer to the classical texts of interpretaion of the Qur'an and gain an understanding even without knowing arabic completely, but knowing arabic opens up a door to knowledge that you don't want to miss out on.

You need to learn and study arabic to the point that you know the grammer properly and can speak it fluently.
Reading it's translation is ok, but there is a reason it's in arabic.
The language is far superior to any other.
And also many mistakes can be made in interpretation if even one word has been translated incorrectly, and many words have no direct translation into English and other languages.

Everything you accuse Muhammed of can be said of numerous, beloved characters from the Bible and God seemed to have had little objection their behavior.

A death cult that wants Israel wiped off the map already rules Iran. Hamas, whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel, visited the Turkish Prime Minister on Sunday to discuss the problem of Jews in Jerusalem. I see bad things on the horizon in the Middle East. Within the next generations bad things will happen.

This 48 minute show is a documentary about the Islamic war on former British Muslims who have converted to Christianity. Angry murderous British Muslims have threatened and attacked those in Britain who have abandoned Islam. Young Bedford Muslim men have been particularly vicious. The "apostates" are under siege. Many attacks have occurred. Islamic books at bookstores in Britian call for the killing of apostates.
